enjoyed watching this, am planning a dartmoor bike back packing on komoot, iv mainly selected roads and gravel surfaces as unsure what the condition of the land is in middle of dartmoor
Thanks K-MTB , riding open moors is hard, walking sections on O.S. map are often not visable. I watch a channel called Summit Or Nothing and its the best insight to what the open moors are like. I try to link up the ridable parts with farm tracks and surfaced sections. The best of these good surfaced sections I know of are....Bovey Tracey to Lustleigh Cleave / Prince Town to Burrator Reservior and the Two Moors Way route out of Ivybridge ( section I ride is on my Two Moors video ) if you manage to link all these up you will have an epic one! Happy trails. Chris.
Great video again Chris. So instructive and inspirational. Hope to do this next year. Was Stannon Tor passable or do you suggest an alternative route? It went negative overnight. What sleeping bag did you use?
Thanks Trevor, the route from The Grey Wethers stone circles to Stannon Tor was easy enough with just a few boggy spots just after the Wethers. Stannon Tor was easy to get to and pass. My advice on this route would be to avoid Laughter Tor to Huccaby Tor. Instead go straight from Bellever Tor to Dunnabridge Pound and ride the few hundred meters on road and connect back on the route at Huccaby Cottage. The sleeping bag is a tesco micro and used with an OEX bivvy bag. Happy Trails, Chris.
Hi, the handlebars are from Alpkit. They have a range of components under the Love Mud name. The bars are the Confucius bikepacking bars. I also use one of those cheap handlebars gadget extender bars just under my bars to keep everything really stable and away from gear and brake lines. Glad you enjoy the videos, Thank you.
Thanks, this was a memorable overnight trip, crossing the river in the morning with ice still on the stepping stones was sketchy! Tomshoo pot & BRS stove still going strong (used on trail building weekends) alpkit bars also off my hardtail, new forks & wheelset for lockdown trail riding at the mo. Gotta make the most of what we can right now eh! Happy Trails, cheers Chris.
Thanks Vish, for that ride I used an Ordinance Survey map and Google Maps on my mobile to follow the bridleway. Not a huge distance but demanding physically for my novice legs!

Really enjoyed the video my friend you done a great job filming 👍
Excellent, planning on doing this in the New Year
Beautiful country , admire your effort . How'd you find your way ?
Thanks..map and compass with a downloaded map on my mobile phone. Dartmoor is hard to navigate when the visibility is poor. Good to have a back up.

@@73megalith great thanks very much for the reply, I'm thinking of bikepacking Dartmoor this month on my gravel bike, so just asked cheers
What is that you wrapped the banana in?
Crepes with a soft chocolate and hazelnut filling. Even better wrapped in foil and warmed up beside a fire. There so good!
@@73megalith do you remember where you bought them?
@@MattMakesMess tesco £1.60 for 6 !
@@73megalith thanks!

For fuck sake this is ridiculous
Enjoyed this but for the awful music
Agreed! Poor choice of music 🤣 but at least i wont get a copyright strike. If i film anymore trips i promise to improve 👍
