Wow!! Finally, Someone hit 61 homers without drugs!! Congrats Aaron Judge. My respects to the Maris family. They went through so much having to deal with that ugly feeling that drug addicts had tied and broke the record for single season homeruns by pigs. I love this game too much to even mentions those pigs names.
Frankly, the Spanish announcer remembers how things used to be done. He brought me to tears with his excitement. The other two sounded like nursery rhymes told to a 2 year old...but maybe that's all audience have become after a century of baseball? A couple of cheap rhymes, stuffed with a cliche or two. We're talking one of the greatest 'runs' in baseball history. Oh well, I can still remember long fly...deep in to right field..."holy cow he did it six-ty one for Maris!" Even in a half full stadium full of loyalists, it was a call worthy of Roger Maris' effort!
I don't EVER know what the f*** he be saying respectfully but Rickie Ricardo's call was, is, & ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST!! WELL DONE 💪🏾👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 2) John Sterling's call Honestly, I could care less about everyone else, INCLUDING Michael Kay's...
Hope this helps. Mayza pitches, Judge hits it deep to left field. It's going, it's going, it's gone, number 61, it's gone!! Move over a little Roger Maris, another man wants to sit at the table. "The Judge" Aaron Judge. He ties the record of the Yankees, he ties the American League record. He comes north of the border, Aaron Judge, number 61!! The Yankees now lead 5-3 and Judge ties Roger Maris!!
Dan Shulman’s call has some Joe Buck -esque feel to it. Focuses more on the crowd noise for the historical moment, doesn’t over announce like some of the other commentators. It’s simple, yet very underrated.
I always considered Roger the true single season king and now I am proud to say Aaron Judge is the true single season king along side Roger (until 62 of course)

Kay idolizes Vin Scully…. Watch Kirk Gibson’s World Series home run to see how Scully would have made the call. Scully would not make himself the focal point of the event, he remained silent as Gibson circled the bases.
@@TRivera13a fair comparison is what makes records legitimate. If MLB added 8 games to the schedule making it a 170 game schedule and in 5 years Judges record was broken. Would you not see the disparity then?
@@thetruthfornow6045 That's the same rationale that gave Maris so much grief in 1961. A season is a season. I don't hear much debate going on in NFL circles about expanded seasons.
@@TRivera13 your logic will wipe away all the old timers hard earned records. I love Judge and I am glad he will pass Maris who played in a 162 game season if he hits one more homer. We discount the steroid era players so as far as I am concerned once he hits the next homer he will have the most homers in 162 games ever. Isn't that enough for you. Stop discounting the Babe.
@@thetruthfornow6045 Ruth can never be discounted. Even now after some of his records were broken he is still viewed as the greatest of all time. But the game has and will continue to change. Are you going to make separate records to reflect all the changes?
Great season and taking nothing away from him, but in 1961 there was only 8 teams in the American League and 8 in the National. The talent was much better then. Today there is a total of 30 teams, a lot of players in the American and National League would not have had the talent to play in 1961.
That's not true at all. In 1961 the AL increased from 8 to 10 teams. Which is why the season increased from 154 games to 162. The 2 expansion teams (Angels & Senators) could only draft from the other 8 AL teams. So in actuality the AL was a little watered down as a whole.
It'll be awhile before anyone scores 50 goals in a La Liga season like Messi in 2011-12. Why don't Europeans cherish these numerical records as much as Americans? Just wondering.
Best call- Dan Shulman. Classic…classy. Worst call- Michael Kay. For Kay “the moment” always take a backseat to “the call”… his call. To prove the point, during the broadcast, they re-played the homer showing Kay in the booth making the call. Talk about attention-seeking-moment-stealing behavior. Simply lousy broadcasting. I miss The Scooter. Hats off to Aaron Judge. A great ballplayer.A great teammate. And an obviously very nice guy.
Not at all, Kay has the most enthusiastic call because he loves the game, and the Yankees. I don't know why anyone would think he's seeking attention, he's being paid to call the game lol
We disagree… which is fine. Recall Vin Scully’s call of the Kirk Gibson’s HR in Game 1 of the 1988 WS. After calling the HR, Scully said nothing - for 67 seconds - as Gibson limped around the bases in obvious pain, as he was met and embraced by his teammates, as the stunned A’s left the dugout for the clubhouse. The perfect call for a great moment.

The only thing missing from the Spanish call was "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!" 😆
Out of all the calls, I think John Sterling did the best call. I don't understand Spanish, but man I literally can see his passion for the game.
He said “Move over just a little bit Roger Maris, somebody else would like to sit at the table!”
The spanish broadcast is done by rickie ricardo, not john sterling
