To be fair the basic modern rounded-top baseball cap has become the standard design of fashion cap for many varieties that people wear for practical and aesthetic purposes. And it originated with the "Brooklyn Style", i.e in New York.
What logo is apropos if not the Yankees as it has become synonymous with MLB and athletics and sports. Many people drive sports cars nowadays doesn't mean they are motorsport fans or been to races.
