  • When I became aware of Todmorden temporarily being a terminus I decided I had to check it out. I did the usual visit to Gordon Riggs Garden Centre, but having filmed that at least twice before I didn’t bother this time.
Previously, I have seen a train terminate there from Blackburn and return to Blackburn using the new West Curve; and that train got a “W” indication in the theatre box above the signal. As the train I was using wasn’t going that way I was keen to see what it would get for the main route towards Hebden Bridge. As you can see it’s an “L” indication.

Excellent video. It's always a treat when the Bradford service gets diverted via Dewsbury and goes non-stop to/from Sowerby Bridge.

I know exactly what you mean there! I had planned to go via Brighouse, changing at Halifax; and later changing again at Huddersfield, but I took full advantage of what happened! 😜

I am not sure when the siding at Hebden Bridge was left like that from being a slow line. I remember the slow line in the direction you were going and remember a Calder Valley DMU using it when there was a failed train on the fast, it sure came in useful that day. it was used quite often for goods trains. Instead of wasting money on HS2 loops like that should of been reinstated.

      Too right they should!
That new bridge over the M62 should be finished today, but mark my words; I bet a week’s wages the track layout on top will be f* up!
