Am I the only person who loves book sleeves? I love taking them off to peek at how the book looks without it. I feel like I’m opening a present lol
I could be alone in this but I dislike the nickname "kitten" I think I notice it most in dark romances/spicy books but ugh I can't stand it lol Also real people on covers and the way a book overlooks the couple finding out they have a shared half sibling and they just continue on as a couple like what!?!?! ICK
I only like the losing the powers if it not the actual power but something they learned. Like when Jude got immune to poison in the Cruel Prince by taking small bits of poison regularly and in book two she wasn't immune anymore because she didn't take it regularly anymore. That kind of made sense and it wasn't totally random.

My gosh I thought I was the only one that had a problem when the guy in books would tell the girl "you're mine". It didn't use to bother me when I was younger, but now as I've wised up every time I see that phrase or something adjacent to it, I grimace so hard. Also the part where the guy's traumatic past is used as an excuse for him to be a dick to her as well as a calling her the "b-word" and objectifying her body (or vice versa) is so despicable to me. My book rating immediately goes down or is getting put down once I see one of those things.
It is the absolute worst when I am listening to an audiobook and the next chapter comes up and I see it is 45 minutes. Like why is it that long for one chapter?? Also I completely agree with you with not numbering chapters because since I switch between audiobook and physical book it can be an absolute pain to try and find my place.
My fav thing to do with those playlist authors create is listen when I’m driving AFTER I read the story. I can like imagine the entire book all over again with the songs. It’s my way of saying bye to the story

I really agree with you about the way the male pov only talks about the woman boys. I really saw it in the "A Touch of Darkness" Series. The series is from her pov and it seems like a romance from her pov. Then I ready "A Game of Fate" which is the same book but from his pov and he constantly just talks about physical stuff and sexual things he wants to do with her. Like she literally invites him to bake with her since it is one of her passions and he literally there for one minute and is already like "I really hope we wouldn't actually bake and just have sex" and I hate it. He did that all the time. Everytime she did something cute for him or showed him something about Herself he always thinks "Can we skip this and just have sex." The book was not a romance from his pov. I literally skipped their scenes together in his book.

15:04 As someone who’s in high school and reads young adult all the time I also hate this… i don’t mind when they bring up Instagram and Facebook because those have been around for a while but the second Tiktok is brought up it makes me cringe lmaoo. Then again i’m 17, maybe younger YA readers aren’t bothered by it but it mostly bothers me because in a few years if tiktok isn’t popular anymore (or isn’t even an app anymore) no one would be able to relate anyway

HALF COVERS (step back covers i think theyre called) at first were SO interesting to me, but now i'm over it bc everyone is doing it!
OFC i had to look into why a little bit ago. BASICALLY they're made that way to give the authors or the publishers more room to like praise the book/author. They'll do a sliver with a pop of color to try to entice the reader to go and see what it says. Like how hard cover books have the extra dust jacket flaps to write all the praises, but paperbacks dont have like a "fun" way to do that, so this was the paperback attempt at it i guess?
that was my guess but some of them (like the one des shows) has no words on them 😭
