I wish they'd let you carry 2 guns. Some of them you are great for certain situations, like taking out bosses with their big ass hit boxes, but aren't great for the small enemies that are moving all over the place.

@@grahamkelly8662 lol its funny at first you were talking about Returnal and then went on a tangent about GOW Ragnarök. But real talk, i somewhat agree about it feeling the same as the 2018. I still enjoyed it but not much as GOW 2018. Also controversial opinion here, the third act felt kind of rush and didnt stick the landing to be frank. I give Ragnorok a solid 9/10 but its no masterpiece. As far as Returnal, this game is SOO underrated!
Based on my play style, Rotgland Lobber was king. I tried all of the guns, but never seemed to be anywhere near as successful as I was with the Rotgland. Good when it's weak, and when you get a high level version with like 7 or 8 damage points, and high splash, you're literally plinking groups of weak targets with one hit kills and just jumping/hiding behind pillars as you wait for strong targets to die. Frikin love that damn gun.
I completly first tried act 2 because i got good lobber drops when i needed them. The last one did like 300 impact and 200 tick dmg, with explosive rot/def rot/ and full dmg, those malformed mini bosses where like normal enemys. For me my number 1 weapon, probably because i didnt really use the pylon gun
Electropylon driver for boss dps, and hollowseeker with portal beam and turret for killing enemies. Hollowseeker is arguably best in the final biome, with tons of those floating enemies around. Portal beam and turret takes care of all of them.
Pyroshell Caster and Thermogentic Launcher is so OP once you have certain upgrades. For pyroshell get the Auxiliary projectiles, Seeking Flares, Secondary explosions, simmering explosion and streamlined chamber. For the Launcher all you need is full auto and replicating hits. These will wipe out enemies off the map. Especially in the tower of Sisyphus
No lie. The sidearm got me through my first wins against Phrike, Nemesis, and Hyperion. For some reason, the sidearm always had the best stats easily and good possible characteristics. On my first playthrough, I never had good weapons drops and fabricators/ artifacts at the same time. One or the other would be super bad. I only passed over a sidearm that was objectively the best when it was charged shot, and i was traumatized. I'd be like, I'll take an garbage electropylon, carbine, or hollowseeker instead. I got so scared when I unlocked charged shot because i was in the 5th biome in the middle of a huge firefight, and it was so different. I was so confused because i had the malfunction where I couldn't pick up weapons and was like "Wtf is wrong with my sidearm?" Honestly, even with charged shot now, the sidearm was always super reliable.
I personally don't really like charged shot or burst shot. It just screws up my rythym. Otherwise, I never scoff at the modified sidearm because it's super easy to reload. With good traits it's killer. The spitmaw is a joke compared to a good modified sidearm. For bosses, elites, or the tower.
Totally agree, I've platinumed Returnal and that is in huge part thanks to the Electropylon Driver. Its basically the easymode weapon of the game. I actually would put the Tachyomatic in 2nd with Hardened, Critical Hit and Rising Pitch, it is insane!
I personally found the Rotgland Lobber to be awesome. I would have placed it a little higher on the list. But, the Electropylon Driver is ABSOLUTELY the BEST. However, I found the lower level single shots to be better than the versions with the pylon "web." On some versions of the EPD, the web only allowed for 2 shots before calibrating, while the single shots allowed for up to 12. Not to mention, using the webbed version was difficult against bosses; sometimes you may not even hit the target. Get the single shot version and this game becomes a piece of cake. For those people who are struggling, everything gets easier with this gun.
My biggest complaint about this game is the fact that you can't hold more than one gun at a time. The more specialized guns would be a lot more useful if you could hold it AND a more general use gun like the carbine at the same time and swap between them as needed. You know, like how most games like this work. Nobody would go into battle with JUST a grenade launcher.
Dreadbound is very powerful, but the fact that you have to wait for the shards to come back makes it tough to use at range or against multiple smaller enemies.
My two cents on the Rotgland Lobber. The overload time is actually quite quick, and if you can nail that timing (it's sort of a syncopated beat) you can fire that thing very quickly and do a lot of damage
When you get the thermogenic launcher with critical rockets, full auto, replicate hits and tail fire with doombringer alt like i did near the end, you will forget that electric shoting crap pretty soon
Launcher with Full Auto and Replicating Hits will ALWAYS be the best weapon you can take (especially in Ascension DLC). This weapons does insane damage and how fast rockets are flying (full auto takes out this little delay after firing salvos) is the icing on the cake. If you can get Thermite Rockets as well you will get very high in Sisiphus Tower. Those 3 traits are the best combo you can get. Also thanks to very high damage output it has very slow "reload" and therefore it's really easy to hit overload imo.
I guess they never nerfed the Electropylon Driver, because that gun is still extremely OP. You get it in the 3rd biome. Using it during act 2 makes the game free.
I finished the game with the Dreadbound, i don't think it deserves the last place 😂 it completely destroys targets at close, if you don't mind playing in that range, its a gun that doesn't have to reload so if you hit most of your shots it will continuously keep firing
The tachyomatic carbine and the hollowseeker are my top 2. Against the final boss of the game, I went into the fight with a thermogenic launcher. Really struggled in the boss's 3rd phase and got killed. 2nd attempt, I went in with the hollowseeker (with the portal beam). I went in with 4 large silphium vials, didn't need one of them!
I pretty much agree with your list. The Dread is at the bottom of my list too. Pyrocaster I hate it too and pretty much like you I found the Driver to be stupidly op compared to anything else
Ophion was quite fun with the electropylon driver. Took me around a minute to kill him on level 30 with weapon dmg boost. By far the best weapon in the game! Absolutely no contest on the big guys - most of them get killed with 3 hits and walking around doing nothing. It's totally sick.
My first kill of Ophion was with the driver and he died so fast I thought something had glitched out. XD Put one pylon on each weak point and the fight is basically over. XD
I was absolutely stuck on nemesis but after watching this video and realizing the Rockland Lobber had damage over time so I picked up a level 13 Lobber and beat him on my first run with it, just today. Still a trash weapon during level but nailed the 3rd boss.
Totally agree on the Electropylon Driver at #1! Soooo sick! However, I put Coilspine Shredder at dead last #10. It suuuuucks soooooo hard. I'm still unlocking traits, but so far it's the only gun for me that absolutely needs 3+ traits to be even somewhat useful. I'll happily keep the starter pistol instead.
Did you end up unlocking traits for the coilspin shredder? If so, what did you think? I hated it at first but now I love it. It’s a long range shotgun.
I’d say rotgland lober is best, this is cuz when you get the artifact that shoots out 2 bolts when overcharging, you can snipe enemies across the arena without even aiming, it’s such a broken combo and will carry you thru every stage, it’s so good
I hate the pyroshell and thermogenic. And the thermogenic helped me beat either phase 1 or 2 for the first time I can't remember. I'd still rather use those 2 weapons over the coilspine shredder though. That things ended like 4 of my runs every time I decide to experiment with it lol
just got into returnal so watching old vids. cant disagree with your list. i will say i like hollow seeker especially with portal beam for nemisis. i do like electropylon for B6. teather the eyes together and you can take him DOWN FAST.
My tachy with leech rounds, seeking rounds, payload rounds and high caliber makes short work of any weapon. I deleted orphion in record time, it was ridiculous
I went through 4 and 5 with this and almost beat 6 in a single run but I'm a fool and switched it out for a rotgland because I thought all the DPS from the acid would melt more.
Hmm. I disagree with the bulk of this. I speedrun this game on the regular. And routinely run boss fights. If by “Easiest” to use, then I agree that the driver and hollowseeker are great. They do half the work for you, however if we’re going to talk just utter damage and power, spitmaw and Dreadbound are the best weapons no questions asked. The Shredder is also easily top 3(But only in act 2 with retarget 2/3). Dreadbound with expanding shards is absurd and kills anything fast, boss or enemy it doesn’t matter. Spitmaw from the get go is the strongest weapon. You just have to actually play well. The driver is good for mobs and mini bosses but is absolute trash with main bosses on a dps perspective. It’s safe, sure. But you’ll kill that same boss 3x faster with a spitmaw.
The "you just have to actually play well" after saying Spitmaw is the best says it all... playstyle and skill. We're not all speed runners. We're mostly looking to just get through the game. Ease of use is a big factor for helping the player focus on all the dodging required. For the record, I'm a hardcore gamer and have been having success in this game. I did the first two biomes each on the first run. However, I've also seen my 55 year old dad struggling and needing to know which weapons will help him do well... which is probably the situation for the majority out there and who will watch this video. Speed running and maximising DPS is a different category.
@@chrismarlow9585 He's not wrong though, the electropylon driver is a very nice gun for new players since they can focus on dodging alot and still maintain dps but dreadbound shits on the driver no questions asked and no you don't have to be a speedrunner to use it lol. Last stream I used dreadbound and I was just shocked how quickly you could clear entire rooms, destroy mini bosses and bosses. Spitmaw is also insane and destroys bosses with insane speed, just have to be used correclty.
@@marwangaming4708 My comment was mainly responding to the fact the whole "this is not true for speed running" argument is completely irrelevant for the main audience of the video. Ease of use is a big factor for many people playing the game I'm sure. I mean just look at who it is talking here... a speed runner and a streamer, both clearly very serious gamers. From my own experience playing Returnal I can completely agree with the video that the Pylon Driver is insanely good for dealing with any scenario the game throws at you and with enlarged chamber easily dishes out huge damage, only outclassed by optimal trait weapons or ones used in far more awkward ways. Tbh, it shows that the weapons are balanced quite well considering how hotly debated which the best ones are and that it comes down to play-style / skill level.
Think you're wrong about the pistol. For me its top tier. But Also I think its a gun everyone should max out, and get comfortable with. Starting a run with a maxed out Pistol is going to make the grind for late game build much easier.
you can hold down the fire button and click it only to overload. and it keeps a strong rhythm of damage going. - I only bring this up because you say that a drawback of this gun is having to hit the fire button all the time, and that is just wrong, it is a completely auto pistol.... you are doing it wrong
High caliber (especially for boss fights), followed by rising pitch. If you can find one with both traits, thank RNGsus for allowing you to melt enemies.
The traits completely change the guns like completely how a gun works also completely changes as its stats go up. For example a level 30 dreadbound with the bulk of the stat points in projectile speed and return speed coupled with exploding shards and fourth shard is a completely different t beast. I just feel if you are going to rate guns on this game it's important to include the traits and take them into consideration . The spitmablaster is trash and I mean trash without the slug perk. The hollow seeker without serrated amo, wave or portal beam is kinda trash. I will not pick up certain guns without certain perks except for the carbine and the electronpylon driver. I totally agree with your top pick I've stopped using the pylon launcher cause it's broken and trivializes the game. Kinda crazy I've played through this game at least 15 times and have not once gotten that rail gun you mentioned. So maybe you should try and pick up some of those guns you don't like late game, I think you would be surprised at how good the dread bound and pyroshell can be. Good vid though.
Thanks! Yeah you are right that certain traits make guns way more viable. I agree that spitmaw sucks without slug. And yes many level 30 guns have some ridiculous abilities. Thanks for the in depth comment.
@@invertedblade @spragels I had a run yesterday that started on biome 4 with a Hollowseeker that had BOTH the portal beam AND the portal turret eqipped. I was very happy 😃
The electropylon makes the game so broken that I ended the last two biomes and the final boss in one run 😂 it’s hilarious. I discovered how broken it was while I was playing these biomes for the first time. Today while I was collecting the pieces for the secret ending I 100% completed the first 3 biomes on a single run. All hail to the electropylon!
It's not broken. It depends what traits you get on it.I've had some garbage versions of this gun.Sometimes it can be very situational. To say it breaks the game is going a little too far.
Oh man I love the Rotgland Lobber.... it's the gun that got me through Biome 3 for the first time. It's still one of my faves after getting both endings and working towards plat.. love this weapon.
I loved Leech rounds on the carbine because it really saves you if you don't have high integrity (the 5th biome) and it is universally useful. The Hollowseeker with portal beam, serrated bullets and portal turret melts everything though
I think the Dreadbound is a "bad" weapon only when you're still learning the game. If you take a few runs to learn the weapon it's the most powerful gun in the game and melts bosses in seconds. High risk but VERY high reward and definitely not last place for me!
the Electropylon driver is amazing, one of the best weapons in gaming history. i just did a tower run and was still using it at weapon proficiency 5 and refusing to pick up level 30 weapons. it still melted everything. best part is i still dont even really know how it works with the tethers, you just shoot everything and easily dodge while the dot stacks. weapon feels like cheating
One reason I also dislike the Pyroshell Caster is the delay on the grenade exploding. Other ammo will interrupt the attack from the bats and the flying blue-boys in Biome 1, but these grenades don't immediately cancel their attacks, and lots of times, that delay is enough for them to fire or charge and land a hit.
My personal experience, once I have unlocked all traits on all weapons, is similar to yours, except the Launcher is far down the list because the rockets fly so slowly and it's very hard to hit flying and fast moving enemies. Pyroshell on the other hand becomes almost godlike with its better traits. Still I agree Electropylon Driver with web shreds everything else in the game, even a Hollowseeker with serrated+turret+beam+retarget (which I think is the second strongest combo after the driver).
They once had the daily run with the launcher with an extended mag and rapid fire or something. I thought I was using an over powered assualt rifle until the end and was like, wait that was the launcher.
@@Nunya.Bidness more range, more accurate, more shots on the target I want before overload. I find it better for boss fights also in general, much rather have the silithium trait to build my hp bar up. Everyone's playstyle is different, it just reminds me of Aff Warlock gameplay style from when I used to play World of Warcraft years ago. DOT Target and move onto next.
Starting to like the Dreadbound in biome 4 and later, its my no.2 weapon after pylon, but only with expanded shards. If lucky enough to get with at least level 2 expanded and explosive shards then its overpowered. With level3 can literally kill last boss in 20 sec.
I 'accidentally' completed the game yesterday. I built the most OP build. Its Rotgland Lobber which has a super fast overload.... Then you put that together with the 'every successful overload hits the two nearest enemies with a lightning bolt' upgrade. You just walk into a room and start spamming the overload and everything just dies...even if you cant see it.
So strange, this is exactly how I beat act 2. lol. Once you have the rhythm down everything dies. What an insanely powerful build that was and I've been trying to get it again but that overload perk hasn't dropped since. To me the Rotgland is by far the best gun provided you have explosive rot otherwise it's kinda whatever.
One thing I will say about the pistol - while normally it's pretty low on my list, if it ever shows up with both burst fire and homing rockets, I will take it over many other options, especially in the Abyss where it just instantly clears out the floating suicide mobs.
I used to hate the lobber until I realized that once you figure out the finger pull rythym to get the overload right the dot stacks and just shreds, especially when fighting enemies that teleport or move around very quick, I’ve had enemies die while teleporting or off screen. Also if you have the overload rush artifact you are always fast and higher protection. Depending on my runs now sometimes I am hoping for the lobber.
I think tied for first is Rotgland Lobber and the Electropylon Driver. Damage over time is so good in this game. Also Rotgland Lobber has a very natural feeling overload, I almost never miss it and it can shoot pretty fast once you are at Adrenaline level 1. Funny thing is I finished act 2 and have not gotten the dread bound and Pyroshell caster. I’ve been trying to get the ciphers in first 3 biomes but getting bored so I guess it’s time to finish Act 3.
The Dreadbound is easily the best gun in the game. I don't even count the EPD, since that's just an official cheat. If you've leveled up the Dreadbound it's an absolute beast. It's pretty much the only viable gun in the Tower for highscores. I didn't like the Dreadbound in the beginning either, but only because I sucked at the game and didn't understand the gun. With the right traits it's a murder gun. If you have bad aim in open levels against hard enemies, of course it'll suck.
I tried the Dreadbound gun. It is nasty up close, since it fires as often as the bullets hit anything (enemy, wall) with no cooldown. It can really shred enemies (especially with the right addons like fourth shard and explosive/expanding rounds), but it's a weapon you have to use intelligently, and it's really weak at range (but becomes a lot better with expanding shards). I'm still working to unlock its attributes - oddly, it's only available late game so if you're competent at finishing the game you really don't have much opportunity to power it up. If you're like me though and just want to keep playing, I guess it has plenty of abilities to continue unlocking the more you find it and use it. Pyroshell Caster is also very powerful with Auxiliary Projectiles and Seeking Flares. Requires no aiming. Electropylon is nice and convenient, but I enjoy the gunplay more, so I avoid it.
Dreadbound is 100% BEST! Ask any serious Tower player... it's that or EPD once you progress past Algos' Final Form. Pistol is entirely OP too once you have all the unlocks. Tower Phase 1 world record is 4:00 with a Pistol.
Agree with a lot but the Rotgland Lobber is a close 2nd behind the Electropylon Driver. The Lobber is vastly underrated. It works very similar to the Driver as it does DoT but it also has very strong traits like explosive rot which essentially turns it into a thermogenic launcher with DoT, and tendril rot which causes tentacles to come out of the rot trails and attacks enemies. The cooldown time for the Lobber is very fast so you can pretty much spam fire it without penalty but if you get good rhythm you can hit the overload every time. There is also the splash damage trait which means you shoot one enemy and other enemies around it will take damage as well, and it's still DoT. One benefit this gun has over the Driver is that it doesn't cover your whole screen in red lasers which can get very distracting, especially if enemies are red in color or if they're shooting red orbs. I still do think the Driver is better overall because it just seems more powerful but the Lobber is a very close second.
I enjoy these two since they're very similar. I give the pylon a little bonus because it's easier to hit airborne enemies with it since you don't have to charge it to get a straight shot like the lobber
Terrible list, dread is first but it's all situational. In the tower- very early game a thermogenic with Easy to Use so you can level proficiency faster, tho you should be mid-air meleeing most hostiles anyways. Then a Thermogenic Launcher with full auto and replicating hits with a bonus of enlarged chamber and thermite rockets. Then a dreadbound with explosive shards, 4th shared and protection steal, with a nice bonus if it has expanding shards.
Had the most success with the Carbine, rising pitch, leech rounds, and magnum bullets. The Thermogenic was good but if I started to miss shots it could get me in trouble
@@vfta7906 well you have a point with ophion but I have used the dreadbound in all biomes and against all bosses so I’m talking from first hand experience.
@@uvie_egua OK OK we both obviously love the game so I will stop with the salty replies ;) I've been playing it almost daily since I got it and have played a lot since I wrote the above comment 11 months ago! Right now I'm using thermogentic launcher but never seem to get te combo Fully Auto, Replicating Hits, Thermite Rockets, tail fire (or critcal rockets) currently trying to hit scout level 99 at 79...
First time I took this electropylon I thought that this is an absolute garbage (i thought I should make webs to damage enemies). I think I should try it once more. Maybe today I will finally pass goddam 5th biome...
Its a different playstyle than other guns, i stick 2 or 3 pylons on a target then swap target. As long as you have pylons on them, you just have to wait for them to die. Whereas non damage over time you have to keep shooting them until they die. The only exception is the mini boss type enemies where you keep shooting them and evade projectiles or hide whilst waiting for reload. As long as you have pylons on them, you can hide and they still die.
The very first time I got the weapon I thought you had to tether surrounding areas and also hit them for it to take affect. So when I entered a empty room with no obstacles and a bunch of those flying assholes I died rather quickly lol. I thought the same but decided to give it another go. This time shooting them directly and realizing that works. Once I realized that it was game over. It's so good
we all knew what the no.1 would be :D the most shocking part is that you DO NOT even have to hit the enemies, you can shoot leeroy jenkins and the tethers link to enemies automaticly... its fucking easy mode as you said
I 100% agree with you on the deathbound and pyrocaster. when i unlocked the dreadbound, i fired it a few times, saw how it delayed returning bullets amd immediately threw it back on the ground LOL. and the pyrocaster, i liked it at first for stuff that walks but it was such a pain for anything airborne or far away. no thank you. I actually really like the hollowseeker and rotgland. the pylon driver too. being able to smack something hard with the lobber and hide for a bit from a big attack wave works well for me and it usually does some pretty big chunks lf damage. if i really need to get rid pf something fast, i just use the altfire. i love this game haha. its hard but a lot of fun
Agree that the electro pylon driver is absolutely the best gun especially with the web trait. Fire it once and just run and hide while everything dies. I did a run with this gun using the adrenaline damage heals you and was bascially immortal. Trivializes the entire game if you learn how to use it. Hollowseeker with serrated bullets is great too
My top 4 is almost the same as yours, just replace the carbine with the lobber. Yeah the pylon is hella broken, i was having so much trouble with biome 5 and then I figured out how the pylon worked and breeeezed through it. I think the full auto launcher with tons of bonus damage is the best for bosses in my opinion though. Yeah you have to shoot it every time but it sort of aims itself if you get close and you get done way faster im pretty sure
He keeps saying you have to keep pulling trigger for pistol and that’s not true also how you do an entire review of the guns without touching on overloads AT ALL smh
My list. Seeker with serrated and either portal melts everything; and with a huge magazine and a high rate of fire it is the best for dealing with adds. Pylon only slightly edges the Seeker because it make bosses easy mode. 1.) Pylon Driver 2.) Hollow Seeker 3.) Carbine 4.) Rocket Launcher 5.) Dread 6.) Pistol 7.) Lobber 8.) Shredder 9.) Castor 10.) Spitmaw Oh and after 100+ hours and the platinum it wasn't until watching this video did I realize that the Dreadbound's ammo returns to the run. I was always wondering why sometimes it was basically a mini Seeker and other times it had the rate of fire of a shredder.
I got a god roll Hollowseeker that put that specific archetype at the top for me BY FAR. Tendrilpod Alt-Fire for the situations where you need to hit and forget damage over time, portal beam AND portal turret. Wowzers. Absolute melt cannon.
Agree with the electropylon driver. However there is something I will change it for: Tachyomatic Carbine with Leech rounds + rising pitch , it just makes you tank ANYTHING
Oh yeah and plus with 10% chance to heal you with killing enemies is OP and if you carry the arsenal adrenaline and leech rounds damn its instant heal too lol
Hell yes, THANK YOU! I kept seeing so many people claim the Thermogenic Launcher sucks and I was like “hell no.” Once you get like Full Auto and Extended Clip (cuz with Full Auto, you with burn through your default ammo capacity FAST) topped off with one or two traits that make your rockets explode into smaller rockets that then explode a SECOND TIME, this gun allows you to just absolutely bombard some of the toughest enemies in the game with a nonstop stream of explosive ordnance.
I think it's a pretty good assessment. I might say that electopylon driver is still weak against huge elite enemies in the tower of sisphus or biome 6 that's why I prefer a full auto thermogenic launcher to melt them like glass right away even if its more aiming dependent. I wish it didn't take so long to level up the level 3 traits since they make just about every gun way more viable with the right traits. I want to like the Coilspine, Rotgland, and especially the pyroshell caster, but they are far too dependent on traits. For the pyroshell seeking flares make it better since you can just aim at the floor or a wall and it will still find its target, but it still just doesn't carry me through the game like other guns. With either the dreadbound or the pyroshell I am missing shots against hordes of flying enemies which consistently screws me over.
Electropylon Driver is the reason im here, i'm 5hs in the game and this gun melted the first boss so fast i felt i was cheating lol Yeah i'm not surprised its the number one on your list but i'm afraid it will break the challenge.
I am sorry, I am high risk close range fighter. My list is 1) Melle stick 2) DreadBound 3) Spitmaw(Shotgun) 4)Tachymancer(AR) 5)Electro pylon 6)HollowSeeker 5,6 is only for babys. Picking that up happens when I have something that I hate
Most OP setup of the game: Electropylon Driver with web Pylon + Artefact that gives 20% stagger damage per parasite. Had 80% increased stagger. The web Pylon would stagger even the strongest enemies. So insanely powerful.
I wish they'd let you carry 2 guns. Some of them you are great for certain situations, like taking out bosses with their big ass hit boxes, but aren't great for the small enemies that are moving all over the place.

That’s going to be truly epic fun. Same with Callisto Protocol and dead space. Let’s hope we wait at least another 4 years for hod of war because it’s truly shit. First idiot caveman like enemy almost made me quit gow. R1 R1 R2 R1 R1 R2 and fuck this guy still has half health left. Then my dickhead son keeps going (behind you) and I’m like please god, no fucking more of this lame shit. Yes I know we unlock more moves but even still, most are same as 2018 and yeh never thought I’d say this but please please please don’t make another gow. Gow is dead now.
Explosive rot is literally what makes this gun just insane and add a few other good stats ontop of it and it's just killer
@@jonyleche3549 explosive rot is king. Enduring rot icing on cake.
100% agree it's so good not only against groups of enemies but also bosses
Reminds me of the nightmare beta gun from DMC1.
Good call thats a great combo
@@spragels Thanks man 😎👍
I personally found the Rotgland Lobber to be awesome. I would have placed it a little higher on the list.
But, the Electropylon Driver is ABSOLUTELY the BEST.
However, I found the lower level single shots to be better than the versions with the pylon "web."
On some versions of the EPD, the web only allowed for 2 shots before calibrating, while the single shots allowed for up to 12.
I would have put the Lobber at number 3. The only problems I have with it is that I wouldn’t take it in a boss fight.
When you get the thermogenic launcher with critical rockets, full auto, replicate hits and tail fire with doombringer alt like i did near the end, you will forget that electric shoting crap pretty soon
1000000%
When do you get full auto with the launcher?? I've recently started using the launcher ALOT
@@williamwatts3271 i got my first full auto thermogenic launcher on bioma 6.
XD
The hollowseeker and electropylon driver are the two best guns, and it's not even close
I’d say rotgland lober is best, this is cuz when you get the artifact that shoots out 2 bolts when overcharging, you can snipe enemies across the arena without even aiming, it’s such a broken combo and will carry you thru every stage, it’s so good
Disagree about carbine being so high. The damage just isn't great at least on late game enemies.
I hate the pyroshell and thermogenic. And the thermogenic helped me beat either phase 1 or 2 for the first time I can't remember. I'd still rather use those 2 weapons over the coilspine shredder though. That things ended like 4 of my runs every time I decide to experiment with it lol
Hell yea the electro pylon driver is op and it’s my favorite.
just got into returnal so watching old vids. cant disagree with your list. i will say i like hollow seeker especially with portal beam for nemisis. i do like electropylon for B6. teather the eyes together and you can take him DOWN FAST.
Yeah I do like rotgland sometimes but I have issues with the damage sometimes
I love Dreadbound, one of my most fav weapons, it is very op in close combat
Finished the game including Act 3 and never found or unlocked the rotgland lobber for some reason
completely agree with every choice!
My go to for the last biome is hallowseeker
Yeah I don’t play in a speed run style at all. I think it’s all play style
The rotgland lobber is slept on bro
buffed Coilspine Shredder rips Ophion in 30-60 seconds. fun!
Cool. As soon as I can get past those sociopathic ps5 bots
Ugh yeah that is such a bummer
rocket Launcher with traits Mega Rocket Full Auto Thermite Rockets easy game same with Hollowseeker with right traits
Which trait for the assault rifle you recommend for first time players? Rising pitch or high caliber and hardened, crit or armor piercing
High caliber (especially for boss fights), followed by rising pitch. If you can find one with both traits, thank RNGsus for allowing you to melt enemies.
Well can u imagine my list almost would be the same as yours lol
Rotgland is the best gun idc what anyone says. I killed almost every boss with this gun with ease
Dreadbound is the worst, My run was going all gud but all went downhill because if this gun 😡😡😡
Dreadbound with expanding shards and explosion shards, melts stuff in biome 6
I just don't love that gun but it is really powerful
I just the rot gun on the final boss it was hilarious killing him with it.
Stopped watching because Dreadbound is easily the strongest weapon in the game, especially in the last biome.
I rolled a hollowseeker level 28 with turret, portal and waves! Managed to beat act 2 on my 5th try, that gun is insane!
Spitmaw Blaster with Narrow Maw and high stagger stat is good tho.
The hollow seeker with the portal ray and waves was the gun I used to beat my first run. Freaking amazing.
It’s really wild. Have you used the one with the turret also?
@@spragels I didn't even see a turret trait. That would be pretty OP.
@@invertedblade @spragels I had a run yesterday that started on biome 4 with a Hollowseeker that had BOTH the portal beam AND the portal turret eqipped. I was very happy 😃
@@mrsupertash Try having portal beam, portal turret, waves, and serrated projectiles. When I saw it, I was done. Easy mode for the rest of the game.
@@NumeroGaijin praying I get this gun my next run
The electropylon makes the game so broken that I ended the last two biomes and the final boss in one run 😂 it’s hilarious. I discovered how broken it was while I was playing these biomes for the first time. Today while I was collecting the pieces for the secret ending I 100% completed the first 3 biomes on a single run. All hail to the electropylon!
I’ll platinium this game before they fix it!
I wanna platinum but I just don't wanna run through the same two biomes over and over. Maybe with some dlc.
Same here haha
It's not broken. It depends what traits you get on it.I've had some garbage versions of this gun.Sometimes it can be very situational. To say it breaks the game is going a little too far.
Against the final boss it sucks though
Oh man I love the Rotgland Lobber.... it's the gun that got me through Biome 3 for the first time. It's still one of my faves after getting both endings and working towards plat.. love this weapon.
Idk why I hate it. I’m sooooo bad with it haha
Me too
I hated the Lobber when i first unlocked it, then learned that it continues to deal lots of damage after it hits.
Great for fire and forget.
I loved Leech rounds on the carbine because it really saves you if you don't have high integrity (the 5th biome) and it is universally useful. The Hollowseeker with portal beam, serrated bullets and portal turret melts everything though
This, portal beam is crazy good
I think the Dreadbound is a "bad" weapon only when you're still learning the game. If you take a few runs to learn the weapon it's the most powerful gun in the game and melts bosses in seconds. High risk but VERY high reward and definitely not last place for me!
Rotland Lobber is pretty amazing with an overload build. It's how I beat the game.
the Electropylon driver is amazing, one of the best weapons in gaming history. i just did a tower run and was still using it at weapon proficiency 5 and refusing to pick up level 30 weapons. it still melted everything. best part is i still dont even really know how it works with the tethers, you just shoot everything and easily dodge while the dot stacks. weapon feels like cheating
When I discovered the Electropylon Driver the game became a cakewalk!
Yup easy mode
Rotgland Lobber is easily top 3 maybe even top 2.
YES I totally agree
My personal experience, once I have unlocked all traits on all weapons, is similar to yours, except the Launcher is far down the list because the rockets fly so slowly and it's very hard to hit flying and fast moving enemies. Pyroshell on the other hand becomes almost godlike with its better traits. Still I agree Electropylon Driver with web shreds everything else in the game, even a Hollowseeker with serrated+turret+beam+retarget (which I think is the second strongest combo after the driver).
Oh man that hollowseeker with all those traits is so nuts
They once had the daily run with the launcher with an extended mag and rapid fire or something. I thought I was using an over powered assualt rifle until the end and was like, wait that was the launcher.

When I find a good electropylon piledriver, I know I've beaten the run I'm on.
I prefer non Web version of the pylon driver
@@stumpjumper_ste why is that? I just unlocked web and it seems great
@@Nunya.Bidness more range, more accurate, more shots on the target I want before overload.
Electropylon driver with silphium attractor and tachyomatic with leech rounds is basically unlimited health
One thing I will say about the pistol - while normally it's pretty low on my list, if it ever shows up with both burst fire and homing rockets, I will take it over many other options, especially in the Abyss where it just instantly clears out the floating suicide mobs.
It would be fun to always have the side arm as the secondary weapon.
but why would you need it? Reloading is quick enough.
My favorite gun in this game is the rotland blubber. No the rotblod lander I mean the rotglob blander. Oh screw it the gun that shoots slime 🤷🏾♂️
I love a lot of the guns. That one is quite fun.
🤪🤪🤪
beat biomes 5 and 6 very easy with the pyro shell caster. level it up and it's soo good
Rotgland is blast if you get right perks on it , killed 3rd boss with it
I think tied for first is Rotgland Lobber and the Electropylon Driver.
When I find a carbine with leech rounds, I hold it for a LONG time. Keeping health topped off in this game is key.
Yeah lotta love for it in the comments.
The Thermogenic was good but if I started to miss shots it could get me in trouble
wow dreadbound is literally the best weapon in the game!
Number 10 the dreadbound - literally needs to be number 2 great for everything apart from bosses, especially with expolsive shards!
Wrong. Great for everything except one boss (nemesis) check my channel and see how I completely destroyed ophion with the dreadbound.
@@uvie_egua wrong. You cannot get good traits for it in biome 1/2/3. Everything completely destroys ophion once leveled up.

It's so good
Electropylon Driver + Adrenaline Leech = unkillable :)
we all knew what the no.1 would be :D the most shocking part is that you DO NOT even have to hit the enemies, you can shoot leeroy jenkins and the tethers link to enemies automaticly... its fucking easy mode as you said
Truly so easy
@@spragels in which biome can you find this weapon first time?
Nah the hollowsweeper smacks ass checks my personally that’s the best gun on the game hands downnnn 😎👍🏼
Yeah the pylon gun is OPPPPPP. Thanks for the comment!
The Thermogenic Launcher with Replicating Hits is easily nr.1 very easy to finish every biome and shred the bosses
and Full auto!!!!!

Also, it's a sidearm, not a pistol. I need accuracy in these if I'm gonna watch them. Stopped at dreadbound being number 10.

Oh and after 100+ hours and the platinum it wasn't until watching this video did I realize that the Dreadbound's ammo returns to the run.
I have done roughly 40 runs now and I have never seen the rotgland lobber.
I like that electropylon makes things so easy and u can take more of a risk in certain areas as well
Tachiomatic with leech rounds 2 is sweet
Yeah it’s pretty dope
Agree with the electropylon driver. However there is something I will change it for: Tachyomatic Carbine with Leech rounds + rising pitch , it just makes you tank ANYTHING
Amen to that brother
Oh yeah and plus with 10% chance to heal you with killing enemies is OP and if you carry the arsenal adrenaline and leech rounds damn its instant heal too lol
The launcher with full auto and the trait that makes rockets explode twice quickly became my favorite gun...
Hell yes, THANK YOU!
I kept seeing so many people claim the Thermogenic Launcher sucks and I was like “hell no.”
Once you get like Full Auto and Extended Clip (cuz with Full Auto, you with burn through your default ammo capacity FAST) topped off with one or two traits that make your rockets explode into smaller rockets that then explode a SECOND TIME, this gun allows you to just absolutely bombard some of the toughest enemies in the game with a nonstop stream of explosive ordnance.
Electropylon Driver is the reason im here, i'm 5hs in the game and this gun melted the first boss so fast i felt i was cheating lol
Yeah i'm not surprised its the number one on your list but i'm afraid it will break the challenge.
I am sorry, I am high risk close range fighter.
My list is
1) Melle stick
2) DreadBound
3) Spitmaw(Shotgun)
4)Tachymancer(AR)
5)Electro pylon
6)HollowSeeker
5,6 is only for babys. Picking that up happens when I have something that I hate
Totally agree, I was really struggling, then I unlocked the E Driver and it was ‘curtains’! For everyone!!!
Most OP setup of the game:
Electropylon Driver with web Pylon +
Artefact that gives 20% stagger damage per parasite.
Had 80% increased stagger. The web Pylon would stagger even the strongest enemies. So insanely powerful.
