After the murder of his son, and the subsequent unraveling of his wife's sanity, Thomas Wayne embarks on a violent journey to becoming Gotham City's Darkest Knight.
A WORD FROM CHRIS
The second I decided I wanted to make a Martha Wayne Joker movie, I knew I would inevitably make a Thomas Wayne Batman follow. This couple is two sides of the same coin and you cannot make one origin without the other. But whereas Martha/Joker was about her decent into madness, Thomas/Batman is about embrace of darkness.Thomas Wayne's Batman is the Darkest Knight, and I wanted to show his willingness to become it. Bruce always able to walk the fine line between vigilantism and executioner. He has a strict code and sticks to it (despite what any DCEU fanboys may try to argue). But Thomas has no code, and I wanted to show his forging of that lack or morality. For all intents and purposes Thomas' Batman is the Punisher, with a mask and cape. And that was kind of my approach to the character.
We open with Thomas waking up after an unseen attack from Martha. It is here, the birth of the Batman occurs. A blunt, apathetic persona that becomes a driving force inside Thomas' mind. And with Thomas being in such a stressed out & fragile state after losing Bruce, Alfred and essentially Martha, within such a short span of time, it makes perfect sense that his mind would create this coping mechanism.
Another thing I wanted to do with this short was a little Flashpoint world building. Many things were altered in this timeline and I wanted to acknowledge as much as I could, as well as honor all the Batmen who have come before. Much like I did with Martha/Joker, there are Easter eggs and references sprinkled throughout.
85% of this short was filmed in one day, specifically all the solo Thomas scenes. Minus a few external disruptions at the cave, and some audio issues from a ghost who clearly didn't get my DO NOT DISTURB memo from last time, it was a pretty easy shoot. The real task was filming the Batman scene. The suit was a little on the stiff side and created limited mobility for Tom Proprofsky. So I had to do some creative editing to pull off the shots.

The guy playing Thomas does a great batman voice.
I love how both this and martha take a 1 word/ title film (joker 2019 and batman 89) finds a way to tribute over 80 years of history, filters it thru flashpoint and includes a big reference an iconic moment from each namesake film that sums up the fan film point. To top all of that we put thomas wayne in the original batsuit use bronson canyon as out batcave. so impressive.

I love the duality of Thomas and his a Vengeful side it honestly reminds me a lot of the scene from 2002 Spider-Man where William Dafoe talks to his evil side through the mirror.

Chris what you do on a shoestring budget with the right words, story and actors never ceases to amaze me. I've always wanted to see a Thomas Wayne Batman fan film. 👏
I liked how the picture was a reference to Golden Age comics where Thomas was the first Batman and stopped a robber at a costume party.
Thomas developed second personality that is Flashpoint batman that will be feared throughout gotham.

I really wish this would get picked up and a full story was done for this Batman story arc! We know Bruce’s story, watching his death turn his Mom and Dad into arch enemies is awesome!

I always wonder how Tomas Wayne became Batman. This is interesting adaptation. Who would have thought that Thomas developed a split personality? I like the alternate Batman’s first night. It made him look a little bit like Spawn with those shoulder spikes and that gun.

i'd love to. but a functioning batcave might be a little tough to pull off.
i got lucky being able to film in this cave since it's thomas first discovering it. but getting to look like the batcave we are all familiar with is just not possible.
@@blinky500 you don't have to actually use a car as a bat cave. you can use a green screen sheet background for your character and make a bat cave in computer graphics or photoshop and replace the green screen with the cave. and when bruce sees his father in the mental message, they are both on the roof of the tallest building in gotham and when the message ends, Thomas leaves and turns into a bunch of bats that fly away and bruce returns to his batman life with a relief that father is proud of him for making a great difference in gotham.
@@blinky500 one more thing, since I suggest that the martian helps flash give bruce the mental message from his father, you don't have to let that happen in the bat cave but in any one of the rooms or hall ways in the watchtower

The ears are too short. I don't know why, but every new batman product has a hard-on for Frank Miller and just tries to replicate the suit and its design. Not enough long-eared batman designs or having the cape able to drape over his body. Batman needs to have that demonic-vampiric aesthetic in his suit that makes him seem like more like a force of nature rather than just a costumed police force. The Batman designs post Dark Knight Returns (1986) but before Son of Batman (2003) had the idea of an ideal batsuit.
Flashpoint Batman has short ears.
