Wow, so many of those songs were on the graduation cd my class made! We all made some suggestions and voted on our favorites, That’s What Friends Are For was one of my suggestions that made it onto the cd. (My other suggestion was The Time Has Come)
I adore Juice Wrld's Graduation. Even though I've never graduated high school, I still feel connected to the memories I've had.

Hall of fame by the script, was sung to us by the freshman on our graduation in 2015.
*Tbf I didn’t really consider these songs “graduation songs” but we are young is so nostalgic and always one to look back on. I graduated last year and looked back on the nostalgic songs.*

For my nursing school graduation in '95, we chose Whitney Houston's One Moment in Time. I am shocked it didn't make this list; not even an honorable mention!
I remember "Wear Sunscreen" and "Good Riddance (Time of your Life)" playing at my own school graduation, despite the latter technically being about a bitter breakup.
I remember at my year 10 graduation they played With or Without You. It was a small catholic high school and the song has some interesting influences.
When I graduated, songs that came to mind for me were mainly "In My Life" by The Beatles and "For Good" from Wicked.
“Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw, “I Hope You Dance” by LeAnn Womack are nice songs considered fit for graduation.
Another one by Canadian band, The Wilkinsons, is called “26 Cents.”
I like graduation songs, but my favorite would have to be the pomp and circumstance graduation March. I listen to it a lot and it’s a beautiful piece. I listen to it every year. When graduation season comes and it’s my number one song for graduation graduations are pretty awesome but the only thing that sucks is you leave your friends behind, but you’re still contact with them and then it gets the point where your friendship fade away

The song that was chosen by my graduating class was "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi. Grad 2001. (a year after the #1 song on this list) so the grads of 2000 chose it.
That’s the best song, these other songs that are on this list are horrible. Maybe because I’m into metal 😂

I may be showing my age, but...list fails without "Friends are Friends Forever" by Michael W Smith. That song was THE graduation song of the early 90s!

"Time of your Life" came on the radio, and we all started singing along.
The director came backstage and shushed us. "They can hear you out there!"
We just laughed.:)

I don't look at "I'll Be There for You" as a graduation song. I did perform Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" at my 8th grade graduation 🎓.
The Time of my Life was released the same week I graduated in 2008. Literally the perfect song for this list. Of course, Friends Forever absolutely HAS to be #1. No other song comes close.
I honestly wish I could go back in time to when I was in high school. Graduation( friends forever) was my high school Graduation song.
Ive been finished with school since 2011 and I didn't graduate year 12 but I definately still remember my primary school year 6 graduation song it was "We're all in this together" from the first High School Musical movie and I know my older brothers graduation song was Good Ridence (time of your life).
As a big Swiftie ive always thought "Long Live" would be my dream graduation song if I had to pick one again. "The Climb" and "Ill always remember you" are really good choices too i think.

I never had a happy graduation. Didnt have parents attend. No real friends to celebrate. Just an ordinary event at school and went home.

As a class of 2000 graduate, we were the first to use 'Friends Forever'. My actual class song was Free Bird, but it was too long for most events so we chose Friends Forever. It made us all pretty emotional, lol.

We sang It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday (the Boyz II Men version) at my 6th grade promotion ceremony in 1995. And then I heard Graduation by Vitamin C, I Hope You Dance by LeAnn Womack, and Time of Your Life by Green Day throughout my junior and senior years of high school (class of 2001 grad), though we didn’t really have an official class song or anything.
Good Riddance was our graduation song back in the day. 🥳🙏

I graduated in 2012 so of course most of my classmates wanted "We Are Young" but I knew it wouldn't be approved. You teased the Friends theme song at the beginning of the list & then it was not mentioned it in the video, unless you considered it a cover which I don’t. I personally would have put it at # 14. My argument for its inclusion is that friendships shape your school days and literally the chorus is I’ll Be There For You. Great list as always.
John Lennon was assonated during my senior year in High School. We were less than 45 minutes from NYC. Hardly anyone came to school for a few days after that. Our class song was by popular vote, "Imagine".

I would argue that Photograph isn't really a graduation song. The whole song is about memories yes, but it's also him singing about how he had better things to do than go to high school and dropping out...

When I"graduated " from school there were no ceremonies, no dances no gown and caps and definitely no theme songs. It was the eighties. I feel cheated seeing what kids get these days.
