In Australia, Tina Turner's The Best became the NRL (National Rugby League) anthem thanks to its use in a promotional campaign for the sport, becoming its most successful ever campaign. Tina herself appeared in the ads. The song proved so popular that it received a re-release in 1992 when The Best was recorded as a duet between Tina and Australian singer Jimmy Barnes, cracking the top 20. The song is still remembered fondly among Australians in general as a result.

"Think Twice" by Celine Dion should have made it to the list. Only peaked at #95 on Billboard Hot 100, and failed to repeat the success of "The Power Of Love". However, it was super successful internationally. #1 in UK selling more than 1.3m copies, also Top 10 throughout Europe and Australia. Mega hit, her second biggest in Europe after "My HEart Will Go On".

So they contacted with the radio stations that they owned which was most of them and they refused to play her music on the radio. Also, some of her singles were not released as material singles.

Kylie Minogue had a LOT of songs that were big hits internationally but are barely known here in America. Beginning with 1987's "I Should Be So Lucky" and followed up with a long string of late 80s and early 90s hits written and produced by Stock, Aitken, and Waterman. Her only sizable hits in the US were her cover of "The Loco-Motion" in 1988 and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" in 2002. The latter was followed up with the now-forgotten "Live At First Sight" but today the average American can probably only name those two Kylie songs.
Funny that the Bee Gees actually contributed not one but two songs to this video: their own "You Win Again" in the Honorable Mentions, and "Chain Reaction" which they wrote for Diana Ross.
In the 1980s alone, a number of artists and songs were huge worldwide but are virtually unknown to Americans: F.R. David with "Words", Sandra with "Maria Magdalena", Modern Talking with "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", 1982 Eurovision winner Nicole, with "Ein Bisschen Frieden/A Little Peace", and Australian legend John Farnham with "You're the Voice". Plenty of others could go in this list as well but these to me stand out the most.

And with regard to Tina, her career's been a case of "Big US hit, UK flop" or "US flop, big UK hit." "Better Be Good to Me" and "Private Dancer" were both Top 10 hits in the US but only reached #45 and #26, respectively, in the UK. "Typical Male" was Top 5 in the US but only #33 in the UK. "Let's Stay Together" was Top 10 in the UK, but only #26 in the US. Her James Bond song, "Goldeneye," was Top 10 in the UK but didn't make the Hot 100 in the US (its best US performance was #22 on the dance chart). And "When the Heartache Is Over" made the Top 10 in the UK but failed to chart on the Hot 100.

"Chain Reaction" was only Diana's SECOND #1 hit in the UK as a solo artist, the first being "I'm Still Waiting"--another US "flop," peaking at #63 on the Hot 100 (incidentally, the Supremes only had 1 UK #1 hit during their career),.
