I encountered the same issue and the 3D plastic part did snap but i was able to shoe goo it back in place but it was the same struggle to install as you went through. I ended up buying another FJ body and didnt want to buy another one of these grill sets 100% frustration spike to install but it permanently lives on the other FJ i built. I thought it was just me but thanks for posting this man.

Darn RC4WD accessories are expensive. For the price you pay the parts should fit better. I like the way your headlights look with that thick lens.
After I waited all summer RC4WD finally got in the accessory tree with mirrors. Now I can have a drivers side mirror again.
Your rear license plate holder looks great on the spare tire. I was considering getting one and mounting it on the basket side. Hum!
I lost the lens on one of my side marker lights. I think I scraped it off squeezing by a boulder. 😂 Can you buy those?
    Great video Oliver, thanx.

Thanks, I really appreciate it 😀, I would have I return it if I am still staying stateside, yes the look change a little when you stare at it😀.
I hope you can do the side mirror mod so you can fold it when crawling. Losing those lens ouch, it will be difficult to source out, i will try to do some research and get back to you.

rc4wd should have made the parts this good from the start so you don't need to upgrade. They do charge a lot, thats true but I would pay all that if the kits are like this out of the box. One good example is the warn 8274 winch, it is perfect out of the box. For the FJ40 body, wish we had opening doors and hood. Aisatees has landcover D110 and D90 body kits at $75 but price aside, the doors open, the hood opens and they have screw on fenders which I think is very helpful for those who want that old school plain look, they can remove the fenders altogether.

I agree with you, Defender body option from asiatees are better, door opening, interior, cheaper and slightly larger compare to RC4WD first Gen bodies, i am still eyeing on a used Boom Racing BRX01 with lc70 body, I heard it’s a good platform and get started with a new project.

@@oliverstoys8411 I think the lc70 body is very well made! I am no fan of it as I prefer older style bodies like the FJ40 and the iconic landrover body. If you like the Ic70, get it before it is discontinued or price increased but I doubt wither will happen anytime soon. Asiatees prices are very reasonable. I wish killerbody or boom racing would price the FJ40 with opening doors etc. mEANTIME i AM GETTING THE CLASSIC FJ40 40 1.55" beadlock wheels from them with the shiny caps, wish they were 1.7" or 1.9" though, I find them a little too small given that the FJ40 is around 1/9 scale because of its short wheel base. Lets see what comes out next. I wish the older style of toyota land crusier pickup would be released too with round headlights. Also series landrovers - series 1, 2 and 3. they would be an instant hit!

@@ronitsingh85 the toyota lc70 definitely not attractive, special the lc70 front stock bumper and front grill they look Hideous, plan to update with with a aggressive bumper, add flat bed hard molded canopies overland concept, military type 1 color paint scheme and dark wheels. Old truck with modern add on. There some fabricator that do custom 3d print body but the too expensive like "MFab", nissan patrol, old rover and clasic toyota's, but the interior and lenses you need to build from scratch, which i am not good at. I hope too that asiatees or team raffee come up with more vintage truch body soon with add on accessories from cchand, that would be a great.

@@oliverstoys8411 I find the lc70 a little too long for its looks, its not as aggressive looking. But it does have a lot of accessories!, bed, mud flaps etc. Like the russian military trucks done by King Kong but I dont want to get into all that! otherwise I will have too much good stuff and not appreciate what they are. Less stuff keeps you creative. I definitely dont lie any of the modern soft compound tires thats out there, they maybe grippy but the look and realism is not there. This is just my opinion. I have kyosho buggies, the vintage land jump, and rowdy baja buggy, new and not assembled, and I have a nice kyosho beetle - field baja buggy. It has the sand scorcher body, alloy wheels, alloy front fog lights, it came out really good, i collect bits and pieces from all over and make a nice buggy or truck according to my liking which includes it being scale, functional and more metal bits. The old stuff is getting harder to find so I am glad of what I have :-).
3D printed stuff I stay away from because of the texture of the parts, I dont like it, i want it to be injection molded. also the printing takes so long and this is why they charge so much I guess. I dont know why the RC manufacturers in China and HK are not coming up with more vintage hard bodies! come on guys, please get us some. Make an FJ40, FJ45 etc. hell get them for display as well as playing around. RC is amazing that way.

@@ronitsingh85 👍🏻, i hoping to get the tamiya sand scorcher and kyosho turbo scorpion, at less this kit are still in production (reissued), they look awesome 😎, i still have my vitange kyosho salute, change the electronic to brushless sensored, not best looking body, i like metal component 👍🏻 used in this kits.
I don’t have a 3d printer, but my friends Resin 3d printer look way better than the PLA and ABS, it’s very detailed and solid.
