- Hexcells Part 3 - it's finally time that I take on the main campaign! First up - the hardest levels of the original Hexcells game. How will world 6 stack up to the impossible levels I've been solving lately?

Now that you've seen both my slow commentary and medium commentary in the first two episodes respectively, which do you prefer? This episode has a little bit of both, but mostly similar to the first episode in pacing. I don't think doing fast commentary could ever go over well lol
You put me into a puzzle trance regardless. I'm pretty sure you could start speaking Esperanto halfway through and I'd still understand.
Slow was better imo, but medium could be good for the absolute biggest or most complex of the puzzles

this was really slow - i reckon the faster the better
I preferred the fast commentary of the first two episodes. It would’ve been better to be slower in the first episodes, but now that I’ve heard medium and kinda understand the rules, I can’t go back to slow.
This video contains 136 instances of the word, 'blue', 9 fewer than the previous Hexcells video. However, this video was 22:29 long, as compared to the prior's 11:46, so the density of 'blue' is much, much lower. 'Blue' was said on average once every 9.92 seconds, around half as much as the previous video (1 per 4.87 seconds). This can be accounted for largely by the third puzzle's lack of 'blue' commentary, with each puzzle garnering 36, 38, 16, and 46 'blues' respectively. This has been a blue PSA.

Wow, Aliensrock is really good at puzzle games; I downloaded this game recently and I'll just say 6-4 had me stumped for a while. It also seems like he solves them faster than I did.
he did say he loved minesweeper in the first video, and he def plays too many puzzle games, kinda cracked
He also cut out most of his thinking time.
I love watching Tyler desperately trying to catch his commentary up to his playing speed lol
I love Hexcells now, once I finally understood all the rules all that was left was straight deduction which is a lot easier for me than blind guessing as I can't choose between options easily.
I've got to say, for being the "hardest puzzles" these all seem fairly straightforward "search the big map for the next obvious clue" things. There was only one bit of non-obvious logic in the very last puzzle, and even that only got looked at because you'd inadvertently ticked off a clue without using all of it.
Yeah, out of the three games, the original Hexcells is by far the easiest. I think you will find the other two games' boss levels to be much more interesting
Hahaha agreed! I finished Hexcells in ~3 hours but Hexcells Plus took me 20! Now starting on Infinity, I wonder how long it's gonna take me to finish tha base game

@@sodiboo I'm still halfway through it 😅 but yeah, from my experience it is more challenging than the previous two. Although, I believe the "Infinity" in the name refers to the fact that this version has randomly generated puzzles and also user-made puzzles, so you basically have endless content
@@arcthe3rd933 Yeah, that's exactly why it's called Infinite, though the puzzles do admittedly get more complex, Matt did good work.
I can't thank you enough for introducing this game to me, I LOVE it! Bought the bundle of all three on steam, nearly finished Hexcells Worlds 1 through 5 in just a couple hours! :D
It’s really nice to watch Tyler play these levels after I’ve played it myself. Being able to see little things that I missed is really helpful, but I’m glad to see there was some logic that I found that Tyler missed as well
It is extremely relaxing to watch as you explain your mindset, love this game probably gonna buy it once you stop making videos on it
I used to burn weeks playing Sudoku, and this gives me a similar vibe. There were a few levels where I thought I was forced to trial-and-error a tile to solve the puzzle, but the way you're talking through each level logically tells me that's not the case.
Me having played through these games campaigns myself I feel stupid realising how hard I found some of these levels when you do it so easily, love the content though!!!

The hanging completed 1 in the left corner for about half of the second puzzle really just stuck out and frustrated me
If you soften your pitch a bit you would have a perfect imitation of Bob Ross with these videos.

First game feels like a tutorial. Rarely you need to look at more than one number at a time.
