Oh, in regards to my comment about the devs and I collaborating on a video - that has been accomplished. Look to the beginning of next month for something special :)
:)

This mod is lesser known, but very interesting. It would be great to get some more info on it.
8:23 Blair Mountain as a holy site must be a reference to the Battle of Blair Mountain, a strike which escalated into a literal pitched battle where union busters used machine guns and even dropped bombs from planes on the strikers.
God what a strange place America is. Thank god it isn’t real.
Guessing the reason for the holy site in Utah is because of John Moses Browning the prolific firearms designer that was active from the 1870s till he died in the 20s
Ohhhh I didn’t even think of that. Great catch.
@@Soul_Tomato I believe Promontory Point, Utah being a holy site is because that's where the two ends of the Transcontinental Railroad's construction met, uniting the continent with Industry
@@fawndoe1917this would make more sense actually
5:13 It's interesting that OSHA, the government agency responsible for workplace safety, becomes personified and deified. Someone probably unearthed OSHA guidelines and interpreted it as a divine message.
I’d like to think that’s exactly what happened and they were like “ah yes, the word of god.”
Exactly and as they say, "safety regulations are written in blood"
Back in my day, these guys were called Rust Cultists
Then call me a rust priest
Only once I've seen them become the crome cultists
I like how Industrialists and Agionists from Godherja both bastardize the beliefs of their Titans/Saints, but in totally different directions. The Saints of Agionism were pretty virtuous while their Crusaders are pretty awful. Meanwhile, the Titans Rockefeller and Carnegie were pretty controversial and fought voraciously for their monopolies, but Galvanists at least are pretty decent and try to cooperate and learn with each other to return the Gilded Age. Great video!
That’s actually an excellent point. Almost exact opposites 🤔
I love that you’re doing lore on this because so very few have done this.
Since it’s mostly centered around the faiths too it makes it interesting because there’s a lot more flavor baked into just a little bit of text. They’re incredibly diverse
I love real-world post apocalypse simply because of how warped perceptions of the past, our present and reality, become. I want to find those who are best capable of recreating the comparative prosperity of the bygone world, and I think that the Industrialists with their love of technology can do so.
So glad this mod got ported to CKIII.
Also, I think the Utah Holy Site is for John Moses Browning.
Apparently it’s where the transcontinental railroad meets - per the lead industrialist dev
5:40 John Henry might be in my opinion the superior steel driver, but that Titan is currently called Joe Magarac as you can see onscreen. Joe Magarac is actually a fake folklore (termed as "fakelore") tale due to Pennsylvanian field research being unable to find any actual oral traditions of the character, leading many to believe he was made up by bosses as an "ideal". He was 7 feet tall, made of iron, and conspicuously never went on strike and worked 24 hour shifts for the foreman without compaint. Early tales feature him saving workers from industrial accidents, like stopping a 50 ton crucible, though later writers have the character fighting more realistic threats like bigoted politicians.
There’s actually a mural of Joe near my house!
YES!!! RUclips is severely lacking videos about this mod, I’m super glad to see someone going in depth on AtE.
I’ll do my best :)
That's probably because it hasn't actually released, it's still in open beta
awesome pfp man
@@Cruxador
It’s because the devs are so adamant about not having a steam release until it’s “finished”, so it’s not very accessible and a lot do not know about it.
@@monkeymoment6478 Not everything has to be finished but there are some things that most players simply won't consider good enough. Missing localizations are an insidious one, tough to find all of them. Crash bugs are in the same category and new DLC always adds new ones.
glory to the omnissiah, I'm trying to turn detroit into a great lakes empire which I've colorfully named "cult of the proletariat"
Haha that’s great
Ironically, there is a galvanist tenet for pro-proletariat sect, with rejection of the Titans and stuff, but there is no such sect(
Fun watching you slowly decend into being a lore channel I really like your editing style for these videos
We will see how much of a descent it is haha but it’s been fun so far
@@Soul_Tomato I know it’s the dream of all RUclipsrs to be successful by doing what you love. I haven’t had a favorite channel in a long time yet, you have become mine. Do what pays the bills but most importantly do what makes you happy man. I’m here for the ride!
Fun fact: I believe the titan 'hill' is based off of the prominent union songwriter "Joe Hill"
He is indeed! I found that out later
I thought I detected a mid-Westerner.
I married a Michigander, so this is probably the region I'll play in first when I try ATE. Either the LP or my home area in the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver, Ca).
Haha we are both plain and yet somehow unmistakable stock
From one of the Devs, Thanks Soul Tomato
You’re welcome! If you have anything you’d like me to cover within the mod feel free to recommend away. I’m sure you already know about the one video tho haha
@@Soul_TomatoGuruists, definitely didn’t have a hand in writing that
@@Soul_Tomatoand definitely the Remembrants, Novaraptorus probably has a giant lore doc you can use
@@garfieldhub is that for real or did you lol
When I last played this mod i remember a people who loved cheese and who also lived in the midwest, those were pretty cool
That’s just normal people from Wisconsin
You know I'm actually really glad you're branching out to the worlds of other big total conversion mods. I love Godherja and After the End, but I'm also a sucker for things like Anbennar (EU4 with a CK3 version coming out soonish). A lot of people put their hearts and souls into making these, and they feel fairly obscure, and these videos help tell their story and get people interested.
Moreover, I feel you're finding your niche in this stuff, but you're also branching out within it. Not letting yourself get pigeonholed. As much as I love Godherja, it'd be a shame if that's all you did (I know you have older and different content, but you know what I mean). You've got a talent as a kind of layman historian for these fantastical worlds, just a guy showing off a cool thing he's interested in, with obvious passion and interest.
I'm excited to see where you're going!
That’s sort of my hopeful goal. I’d like to be a sort of journalist for these paradox creators and just talk about mods in general - even if not for these games
Is Anbennar CK3 actually coming soon? I thought development on that kinda stalled.
@@Cruxador This video is literally in reference to a reddit post made, at this point, four days ago about the mod's progress. So I'd say yes.
@@Soul_Tomato Saw it after asking this lol
ATE NUMERO UNO!!!! btw for those looking for the wiki it's nor public yet, we're soon approaching that point though.
Is it really not public? (What the hell did I find lol)
@@Soul_Tomato the link has been spread around and if you know what to looking for you can find it
@@Soul_Tomato It's also possible you found the old wiki from CK2, which isn't official and might be partially non-canon
@@Cruxador I did not. They announced the wiki on their official discord and it was the same one I had found.
My prayers answered! My dreams turned true! Thank you Soul Tomato, you are a gem!
As are you, my friend
Love after the end love what their doing with it
They’re a great team!
Ravenous, zealous furious chanting begins. Pittsburgh! Pittsburgh! Pittsburgh!
YINZ YINZ YINZ
We must make Father Carnegie and Brother Hienz brim with industrial might.
Just a quick question, the screenshot you show when talking about the unions shows the Union of Steel-drivers is actually dedicated to Joe Magarac, not John Henry like you said. Was that changed since the screenshot was taken or did you misspeak?
I mean, they're both folk heroes, but I'm not sure why they would go with Joe Magarac for steel drivers. He was usually represented as a steelworker, as in working in a steel mill. Meanwhile, John Henry was actually a steel driver in folk legends, so hammering the steel drill into rock so they can stuff explosives in there to break it. I'm not sure if they went with one over the other on purpose, to show that the those folk tales and myths changed over time, or if it's an oversight. Maybe they wanted that to be a union of steelworkers instead, so Joe Magarac would make perfect sense. Or they used Joe Magarac when they meant John Henry.
Just an error on my part. John Henry is who they have listed in the - still in work - wiki. But I’m aware of Magarac as well. They have murals of him where I live.
@@Soul_Tomato Fair enough, so I guess it'll be changed in game too. I figured you were from the area given your Cathedral of Learning comment (before you actually mentioned it at the end), but I had no idea that murals of Joe Magarac still existed. Man, that's fascinating to me.
American folk heroes in general are a very interesting subject to me, being on the other side of the world from you guys. The only reason I ever heard of Joe Magarac is because of his last name, funnily enough. Since I'm Serbian, someone once brought him up as a Serbian-American folk hero to me (magarac means donkey), and that's how I found out about him. Although I'm pretty sure that canonically he can also be Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, or from anywhere in our general area of Europe, depending on where and who you're hearing the story from.
Thanks for replying and clarifying, the area around your irl home is my favorite part of the AtE map, so I appreciate a local's perspective on all of this. Cheers!
I’m also Czech so it trickled down to me through family at one point or another
If you do end up being a lore channel, you could maybe look at the Divergences of Darkness mod for Victoria3! Lot's of wacky alt history to explore and make sense of!
I didn’t even know there were total conversion mods for Vicky 3 👀
slight clarification titan-kings did exist they where just btfoed by galvanists
Right of course
12:11 I think the innovators have promentory summit as a holy site is due to it being the place the trans-continental railroad was finished? Irl theres a historical site where they so reenactments of the event and such so id imagine thered be at least one industrialist sect that claims it as a holy site.
That is correct. One of the devs clarified that somewhere here in the comments
Don’t think I’ve ever actually played an Industrialist before. Normally prefer playing Evangelicals, Americanists and generally Texas
Also, would it be possible to do a lore video on Mexico at some point?
I’m sure I could give it a go - although I have a general ATE overview video coming in a couple weeks that does touch on them a little
This is great! I would love to see you do a video on the veteranic faith.
What’re they all about
@@Soul_Tomato I’m a Nova Scotian so they are especially near and dear to me. Here is a spiel about it from one of the devs on the subreddit:
In the Maritimes (and wider Canada but the Maritimes is the most by a lot) WW1 is our founding myth, how we became Canadians. We went to war and then at Vimy we went from Bluenosers, Albertans, Vancouverites, etc, to Canadians. Therefore unlike in the US WW1 is the more culturally resonate world war, and Remembrance Day mourning it is super big. Remembrance Day (which my family always said was the most religious day of the year) is managed by the Royal Canadian Legion, usually just called the Legion, and forms a heart of a good amount of rural communities in the Maritimes. Basically World War One (and the other wars) are already mythologized and here in the Maritimes we have borderline Ancestor Worship of the martyrs who fought in it, this combines with the prevalence of the Legion to start mixing with the vague non-aggressive mix of Catholicism, Anglicans, and Protestants of the Maritimes, along with a hint of spiritism (seen more prevently in Reborn) to start forming Remembrant. Now, for in game lore,
The world was cast in an endless war of horror, The War to End All, there were terrible people on all sides, a war fought by greed and malus. Brought on by the slow corruption by the Tempter, and helped along by The Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Reaper of Flanders and his Horsemen. A war that had been building since the Original Sin itself, when Cain struck down Abel in a fit of rage, and man first split his kin’s blood.
But in this endless sea of horror, young men dying and spilling their blood in every corner of the earth, came a figure. The Unknown Saviour, the coming of the Trinity in one form upon the earth. Unlike the first coming however there was no great following in his life. Christ would die surrounded by fellow men, yet at the same time unknown. In No-Man’s Land he fell, slain by an unknown Hun after he was ordered with his fellow soldiers to go over the top. As Christ’s blood ran into the soil the first Poppies burst forth from the earth. His individual death was not known, was not heralded. But as God lay dying in the mud, the Holy Sprit left his body and entered the souls of every soldier on one side of the great and terrible war, blessing them, and granting them the holy knowledge that they must end this war. Not to win glory, but to save mankind.
As the soldiers of God’s Entente pushed forward through hell, backed by mighty figures like the Angel of Vimy and mighty sea-bound Aichemes, the Tempters own puppets the Kaisers, Kaiser Attila, Kaiser Wilhelm, and Kaiser Hitler, sent the downtrodden and poor Huns to fight on their behalf. But no matter the innocence of the individual soldier, the forces of the Allies of Christ knew they must end this war, against the Kaisers, they must push against the Horsemen of the Omnipotent Reaper of Flanders, Conquest, War, Pestilence, and Famine, with the Horsemen of the Unknown Saviour, Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Plenty, they must above all fight against Tyranny and Evil.
After the dust settled, and the many Martyrs lay in the dirt of far away battlegrounds, The Legion of Remembrance knew that they must uphold the immense sacrifice these martyrs had made, and above all the Sacrifice of the Unknown Saviour.
The Holy Text of the Remembrants is known as the Book of Martyrs, said to be authored by numerous prominent religious figures, the most of important of which is “Martyr John of Flanders”. Martyr John was the second John, apostle and friend of the savior during his second coming in the War to End All.
Loved the first After the End, hope we get more videos on them!
I have a lot more planned :)
I have come around on the map orientation
I really dig it. Idk what it is but it FEELS fresh.
Interesting, AFTE has been kind of hard for me to get into since there isn’t much of a primer .
Well I have a video coming in a couple weeks aimed at being just that
Thank you so god damn much for making a lore video on this. As far as I know, you may be the first.
There’s a couple AtE lore vids out there I think. But you’re welcome!
So, just a quick disclaimer, the wiki hasn't been updated in years, and was meant primarily for the CK2 version of the mod. That said, everything in the video seems accurate to the mod, and I enjoy any AtE content that comes out.
Edit: Didn't read some of the comments, apparently the new one exists?!
I guess it’s somewhere if you know where to look
The industrialist are my favourite group in after the end
Same
DID YOU KNOW
That you can make a communist faith with the industrialists.
This is by creating a new faith the "one big union" tenet then select the workers syncretic policy.
Beautiful
Looks exciting
Hope you dig it
Reminded me of the BOS and Mecanicus.
Not an incorrect comparison
I do love some of the detail out into this mod. I've been having fun playing my own home location (central/eastern Washington state) and I like the mod's representation of this area as a sort of meeting point between native American, Hispanic, and sort of Western cowboy/farmer cultures. I can't wait for future updates from the devs, and more videos about this mod in the future!
I think it does an excellent job of giving a snap shot of different places
The fighting the dragon is proably a refrences too the chinese trade war
Ooo good catch
If only people cared about all this stuff back in the CKII days. Just imagining what could have been with the old engine with how deep it is given more attention and effort by the dev team.
Time moves on. It'll be just as good, if not better in the new. :)
They did. It was just not needed
Can you do a lore video on the New England Occultists?
I’ll add it to my big list!
@@Soul_Tomato Thanks
I absolutely love this video, I'd love to see more of this type of video, maybe of all the new Christian faiths or the Americanist faiths. ATE lore is so interesting!
I have some more lore vids planned, don't worry :)
JOE HILL MENTIONED ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do you download this mod?
You have to go on their discord. Should be accessible by the link in the description
I love this mod
It’s fantastic. Also thanks for the membership!
The industrious faiths just sound like adeptus mechanicus from war hammer 40k
Ehhhh not really tbh. The mechanicus are pretty distinctly bad or borderline bad in most tellings - even if they’re in the imperium. They do things for the sake of themselves whereas the industrious faiths are trying to help humanity, for the most part. I guess the Prometheus cults could be close.
@Soul_Tomato the united arsenals of america is like the adeptus mechanicus cause their industrialists but have the president as their head of faith similar to tge mechanicus working for the imperium
@@calebsutton6798 I can accept that
I am still wondering if guns are present in the game
yes and no. You can find them but they don't work as far as I know.
Wonder how the Americanists think of the United Arsenals of America considering it's one of the few faiths that seems to agree with them.
They follow the presidency so I’d imagine they tolerate them at least
WOW
After the End is also a CK2 mod.
I never said it wasn’t :) also technically they’re divergent. Ck2 is fan fork, ck3 is not.
@@Soul_Tomato The CK2 is often said as being from the perspective of the Conclavists, which makes sense.

So is this a sequel to the ck2 mod?
Precisely
Where can i play the mod? I dont find it
It’s on their discord. Link in the description
I wish this was on Steam
You can still download it tho? It’s only a couple steps to install it.
Yeah. But with the game not being finalized having it up on steam would lead to weird comparability issues. Anyway, it’s not a hard install and I’m sure someone on the discord is willing to help you
@soul_tomato please do a video about atomicist
Oh you don’t have to worry about that. I’m pretty sure that comes out next week haha
I really like this type of video. Lore & Gameplay should be separate.
Glad you liked it!
Theres also a "Reformed" industrial faith that has jewish syncretism.
The Miami Valley ruler starts as one.
True! That was added a couple months after I made this video sadly.
OSHA
GOD OF SAFETY
No - GodESS.
Osha, Mother of Safety, may your Embrace of Steel protect us in our labor, safeguard us in our endeavors, and deliver us from evil.
Fucking Jacksonburg?
I assume that’s where Blair mountain is?
How can you write a multitude of faiths and ideologies based upon 19-20th century industrial America and not have any socialist influence or sects whatsoever? This time and place in history was quite literally the birth place of American socialism, which was famous all the world around and even created the 2 largest IRL socialist/communist holidays (Mayday and womens day). Obviously clergy and the dynastic, feudal systems are antithetical to this, but seeing no "red" influence whatsoever (and very minor unionist labeling) just seems like lazy writing, especially when even folk heroes like John Henry, the famous battle between socialist/unionist forces and the gov at Blair mountain, the unionist love for and meme of OSHA, and president Eisenhower have somehow remained in the latent collective memory. The "event" most likely being a nuclear cold war with the communist countries shouldn't go unstated. History and faiths can be co-opted and controlled by clergy and kings, but they're still reliant on the masses of common believers, who if they had any actual direct lineage with the 19-20th century working class, they would no doubt remember and idolize the trade unions and their socialist influence, if only as a paganistic folk religion or enemy sect.
Rust as death is very cool though.
lmfao this is so poorly written haha
I mean, what exactly are you expecting? It doesn’t take itself too seriously.
@@monkeymoment6478 I was expecting a well-written mod
