A lot of good comments so I’ll just respond in mass that I hear you and I’ll go back to the older format when I do these faith lore videos. Sorry about that :)
I like the video, don't get me wrong, but I must say that I prefer the deeper dive into the mechanics as well. I feel like the mechanics themselves are an expression of the lore and serve to provide further depth and elucidate how concepts of the faith are practiced by the in game practitioners. So, the more brief format is definitely not a bad video format per se, particularly for more minor aspects of the game, but generally I think I would prefer deeper dives.
I don't play much CK3 or the ATE mod (my PC is slowly starting to show its age); but I do love the videos you do on mods and their lore as it makes me feel like I'm part of the community even if I'm not. Keep up the good work!
even avoiding talking mechanics it might make sense to mention holy sites with a bit of conjecture as to why that particular place is a holy site for the faith.
The Veiled Cross would have also been worth mentioning -- despite having no ingame presence, it's hinted to have hidden followers in Occultic regions and to have picked up more than a few quirks from its kin.
@@Soul_TomatoYeah he's a reference to a very famous shitpost player character on 4chan that someone made for Call of Cthulhu that managed to somehow cheese that system hard enough to actually not die when he encountered the king in yellow

Thanks for explaining the lore of the Occultists. Will you do one for the Evangelical church in the holy Columbian commonwealth and other faiths during the Calvert appeal? Your explanation of the lore is wonderful and clear to understand :)
@@Soul_Tomato I made it down to Maryland and was going to keep going but then the game updated and the file corrupted. But I reformed the faith into an evil lovecraftian cult which had naval raiding as a tenant so I just sailed up and down America pillaging. It was a really fun campaign and good experience with the mod. When I get the time I'll probably go back and start a new ATE campaign. Thanks for helping me get into CK3 mods and keep up the good work!
I played as a fathomless and it was fun but it didn't have that much flavour so after conquering some land and becoming a kingdom I didn't see much more to do, it would be cool if you could go out and fight sea monsters and stuff
Huh, I expect a few more cults I thought these folks where pretty wide spread. Given how the chruch of the veiled cross exists, I don’t know what to think…
You should include holy sites. But weave them into the lore. Like with the Americannists there the holy in the middle of America because there the eastern and western railways linked up, connecting east to west.
Bit annoyed they removed the Draconic Tables. While the Draconic Tables were a little silly, being based off of MtG and D&D, I enjoyed their old lore when they were still in the game and had a fun playthrough as the Mahonics conquering the Atlantic, or as I renamed it as The Sword Coast.
@@Soul_Tomato Yeah, they removed it a few months ago, I'm not sure when, but I assume it got removed for just being a little too out of character compared to the other Occultist faiths.
I like the new structure but I miss the mechanics and holy sites, Nate break the video into two chucks one where you talk about the lore of each faith and then the next you talk about the mechanics and holy sites
the only mechanical aspect i care about is holy sites because of the lore behind them. also if you're cutting down on mechanical descriptions id like much more on the deep lore (pun intended)

The Deep ones don't want you to know this but, Shorebound Jehovah isn't shorebound
My god
The new Iceland hides in plain sight by asking people to mislabel their maps.
i like when you talk the mechanics especially given ck3 after the end doesnt have a wiki yet
:}] D
Good to know! I’ll keep that in mind
I mean it does but it's super bare bones
@@janrussellheeringa1997it’s slowly growing! We don’t wanna just let it be edited by anyone since it’d become headcanon mess
I really missed the holy sites, because I really liked hearing the reasons these locations were chosen!
I was worried about that! I’ll keep it in mind for whenever I do another one of these
I also enjoyed the holy sites and considered them a lesser part of the lore.
Benjamin Franklin as the god of fertility is such a genius little detail.
I agree. It’s like a blink and you’ll miss it reference.

Understood! Wasn’t sure how this one would go over so it serves as a good experiment. :)
In Maine you'd end up with an Old One infused version of a Paul Bunyan legend
As the many eyed gods intended

The lore is so good
Agreed

Now hold on, fathomless head of faith is called the lightbringer?
Linkara mention!
That’s a deep cut right there
Arcane occultary is just the brother hood of steel for wizards lol
Hell yeah it is
Love the lore video, I think having theses short videos that breakdown the lord are super helpful!
Glad you think so!

Kinda what I had thought after I had made it. Will keep it in mind for sure
@@Soul_Tomatoplease remake/ edit the video❤
@@Casual_Killroy def not gonna do that but I’ll consider it for next time
@@Soul_Tomato dude that lame! That’s 3 religions we lose info on!
The Veiled Cross would have also been worth mentioning -- despite having no ingame presence, it's hinted to have hidden followers in Occultic regions and to have picked up more than a few quirks from its kin.
They’re adjacent but don’t fall under the occultist umbrella in the game. They’re Catholic technically.
@@Soul_Tomato True, but it's still interesting to note as part of the "ecosystem" of the faiths in the area.
Good point!
I love it when mods add esoteric stuff like this.
I love how the veiled cross is basically Catholicsim and occultism
There better be a Fathomless House with the motto "In roaring He shall rise, and on the surface die" as a threat to the dark gods
That’s a great motto
Which of the three is your favourite? I'm kinda torn between Gothic and Fathomless.
Arcane actually. I like the idea of secret societies springing up from the ruins of the past.
So, if you don’t maintain or build new lighthouses as fathomless you will just lose tons of piety?
I’m not sure but it would probably give you more to have one
I like this format better and would love to see some of the previous religion videos redone in this way.
I dont mind slightly longer videos as this is my main source of ATE lore and information
I think this shorter one was perfect. It's mainly the lore that draws me to a new start.
Seems to be a pretty even split on if people like or dislike this format lol
FUCK YEAH NEW TOMATO AFTER THE END VIDEO
Excited for you to eventually get to the Astronomers, freaky alien weirdos
oh the horror, its so indescribable
You don’t understand. It’s so incomprehensible and scary. I just couldn’t even begin to tell you.
Dark Reality is such a good theme.
I think the tenets bring further depth to what the religion pertains lore wise
So I think it’d be nice
One of the Saints of the occultist is Old man Henderson. He fought the King in Yellow and defeated him.
He FOUGHT the King in Yellow?!

Love the videos like this for AtE. Also, based music choice.

Please talk about tenants I watch your videos before doing play throughs my self and it helps me brain storm
Do you still have the scrapped video for the digital faiths?
Sadly not
Any plans on covering the Naturalist faiths?
Great video! I can't wait for the Gothic series. Is the goal going to be to conquer and convert all of New England? Keep up the good work!
Something like that :)
Loved this, my first play through was a Gothic New England
How did it go?

Could you do one for the Caribbean faiths?
i think what you did with the arcane occultists works best wherein you mention the more narrative side of the mechanics and just show them on screen

Lore is good, but you basically read what's written in faiths descriptions. I know that there is not a lot of lore so maybe combaining is a good idea?
Probably. Good to know!
Great video as always. But personally I’d prefer if you’d go over any mechanics as well.
I’ll keep that in mind :)
I do like the narrative aspect but I wish you would at least have their tenets show up on screen at points
