I love how you can see Connor's LED just so clearly and before he runs straight at Simon he thinks, and you see his red LED cycle from yellow to blue. He has predicted what will happen and is confident in his abilities.

Dont get me wrong, i loved i, but as a social commentary it sucked, but something about the charcters was really engaging and i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Probably because you can actually mess up and screw up the story
@@alpha_9997 David cage, the writer of the game, isn’t really a compelling writer and the game had many issue with the whole Kara and Alice twist and cliché elements. The characters were all likable though and it had many great themes to enjoy
@@zoom1714 yeah but if you take it as an allegory for slavery or whatever, which i do think they were going for, its horrible. On the other hand, they leaveit jsut open ended enough where you can basically replace what they wanted you to take away with things that made sense

I'm so glad people still remember this game! To me it felt like people adored it for a few months and it suddenly just disappeared once all of the endings and secrets were discovered. The fact it turns 5 years old in May of next year feels surreal.
I got into it a bit less than 2 weeks ago and I've already written over 5000 words for a fanfiction I thought of. Still lots of folks just discovering it, now I gotta hope they re-release the Connor Nendoroid 🤩

I'm playing the game, and I literally just got to this scene. It was kind of a kick in the leg, realizing that the scene was actually taken from the game itself, and to me that's just incredible. Connor is by far my favorite character, and seeing the exact same interaction with Simon made me feel a bit sad, yet ecstatic at the same time.
I mean even if you like kara and alice for now, u might lose interest knowing, alice is an android too.
the use of the LEDs and the LED motif in Connor’s eyes, the acting, the camerawork, everything about this is PHENOMENAL! I’m really incredibly happy to have found your channel, you’re unbelievably skilled and your work is an absolute TREAT to watch

Cool thing about DBH, is the fact that it could literally be adapted in like 99 different ways, whether it be about specific choices or combining choices that couldn't be before. I'd love to see an animated or Live Action DBH one day, and it wouldn't be that hard to cast since you can just reuse the game cast (They did acting, mocap, and voice acting for those that don't know instead just the usual voice acting).

I like the that detail that when hank talks or is exhaling, there’s a trail coming out. Since he’s a human, not an anroid ofc. But for Connor he doesn’t. Even when he was exhaling intensely at 0:57 nice little attention to detail :D.

I was honestly expected an anime opening style of animation, but this is just as amazing. The Stratford tower rooftop scene with Simon is really great. I think you were able to accurately portray the high stakes and the intensity of the scene. Great job!
This is probably the best scene of the game, haven’t seen anything about it in years but brought me back to how interesting this story was, nice to see it portrayed so well.
Yes!!! I bought the game and played this scene at least 5 times since. It's by far my favourite. The fear when Connor says he felt scared? Not only from having felt death but also from having felt an emotion, meaning he was closer to deviance. And the look Hank gives him? GOD IT'S A MASTERPIECE.
But to be honest the whole game is a work of art.
How recommended is this game?! I want to know. Or would you not recommend it?! I have a PS4.
@@MrArcadia2009 actually never played it myself, I only have my old hand me down Xbox 360, but watched a couple different playthroughs when it had first came out so I can’t recommend it on a gameplay aspect, but the story is very compelling, especially Hank and Connor’s part. There are some heavy handed racial metaphors, the robots are supposed to be a stand in for civil rights era POC, which doesn’t really work for many reasons, but if you can get past the cringe of the few haphazard metaphors, it’s an interesting and fun story. If you don’t end up playing it, I’d still recommend watching a playthrough if you’re interested, there are a lot to choose from since it was pretty popular when it came out, since I think it’s an entertaining sci-fi plot.
@@bibubbletea it certainly seems like it is, I Immediately liked Connor, unexpectedly. I mean, he's an android, but a lot of people like him as a character, apparently. But I've seen some parts of androids in really bad condition, it was cringe for me, I don't know, the decision is mine, but I got to think on it. Might take some time on it. I'm very confused, why would they tell everyone Connors an Android? On the back of whatever he was wearing.... it had some serial #.... this strange relationship between human and machine, so unusual.
@@MrArcadia2009 this is a fictional universe where Androids are in every household, they’re seen as like phones. They do chores, most jobs, and childcare. Connor is an experimental detective Android trying to investigate the source of androids going rouge and developing human like emotions being able to defy the orders of humans. The story follows this phenomenon through 3 different lenses.
Japanese just let me laugh more, omg, it's so funny. I don't even need to read the subtitle and I can understand it. It really feels so weird.

Sad, that was so amazing, seriously, even something like the transition from the warning screen to the actual animation itself was smooth and well thought through (ICONIC COIN FLIP). If you take a good look. when Anderson spoke he let out warm air from his mouth, but when Connor spoke he didn't. This is because Connor is a robot so he uses his inner speaker to speak, unlike Anderson he uses his vocal cords and let out warm air from his mouth.

There's so many little details that I love about this interpretation of the scene in DBH that Sad-ist decided to include, so I'm listing them out whether they're obvious or not.
0:21 The moment Connor notices Simon, his LED immediately switches from blue to yellow, and the exact frame where he's shot has the LED starting to turn red (component damage or high stress).
0:27 CONNOR'S JUST READY TO CHARGE SIMON RIGHT AFTER GETTING SHOT AND THEN HE GETS DRAGGED UP BY HANK BHAHSDAFSLGJDKFJA
0:46 Not particularly a small detail, but I adore this take on preconstruction, how his eyes have the lil LEDs. I know that part of the game was just QTEs but it could be argued that perhaps maybe some preconstruction was used to calculate the best ways to avoid bullets. ALSO THE FACT THAT THE QTE SECTION WAS ANIMATED IN REAL TIME REALLY SURPRISED ME- it was such a good choice though, we got to see what Connor looked like while he was dodging them bullets from the eyes of, say, an agent observing the conflict. And he looked dang cool.
0:49 LITERALLY SCREAMING AT THE BADASSERY OF CONNOR DROPKICKING SIMON INTO THE STORAGE CONTAINER WALL INSTEAD OF JUST JUMPING AND GRABBING HIS ARM LIKE IN THE OG SCENE???? Sad you madlad, I love how you enhance story elements of whatever you decide to animate

0:54 I really love how Sad-ist put in that quick frame of Simon in black and white, moving the gun, which shows that Connor's still within his memories. It really gives a small but satisfying explanation as to how Connor didn't see Simon's movements until it was too late and couldn't have stopped it. ANOTHER DETAIL I FORGOT TO ADD: Simon's crying before he pulls the trigger. He's afraid to die but his loyalty to Jericho is stronger than that. That was some of the fear Connor felt from him. I know this is implied in the game, but the solid visual representation here really cements it. Man, the more I watch this, the more I appreciate Sad-ist's skill as a storyteller.
0:55 The abrupt LED yellow to red the moment Simon dies,,,,
1:34 I will never not smile whenever I see this part in the game. Hank's face softens from his furious expression when Connor says that he was scared. He's so worried when he gets back to Connor, then it turns into aggressive scolding, and then he realizes that Connor was honest to God terrified. That's something that doesn't happen in an android, yet it just did.
This turned into me rambling about plot instead of details but you're going to have to deal with it because Connor's story in DBH is so good. I'M IN AWE OF THE ANIMATION QUALITY. Fully colored, fully shaded, heck, even with backgrounds? Sad-ist just keeps getting better and better. The animation movement itself was smooth as heck, and I was really immersed in the anime-esque quality of the whole thing (the first thing I noticed was how the lip sync was identical to the kind in anime, instead of Sad’s usual lip sync. That was what sold me). Bravo.

Its a shame one of the best moments to discover in Connor's story literally never comes up again despite it adding a "Connor Is Traumatized" tag.
Like imagine if this event fully locked you out from choosing to kill the andriod at Kamski's because Connor understands what he'd put the android through.

First of all, I was not expecting that deep voice acting at all. Also, I am going to be very honest right now. I am in love with how you animate, like actually. It's so perfect and fluid and the way you can just- do it so awesomely is so. It's incredible. I really want to animate like this someday, but I just haven't had any motivation to practice at all. So here I am just watching people be awesome.

Her other work's incredibly contrasting when compared to this. Previously, the animatics were mainly focused on the character’s expression, actions and camera shots. Now they’ve just put everything single artistic aspect into this and she's done amazing because it’s gorgeous!

I have no idea what this is but I’m speechless. That was insane, the quality, the speed, the snow, backgrounds, character design.
The movement to the words from the mouth was absolutely spot on. There could of been a few off points but not everyone makes the same exact mouth movement with words. Only a professional lip reader would be able to notice that.
The background design was fantastic, marvelous. The interaction between the characters and the background and stage items is *chefs kiss* perfecto.
I don’t know what the characters look like but the consistency of the look throughout it all. All the little details were there.

Well as a long time watcher(of this game never actually played) it's like robots are normal in the world but aren't smiled apon because they take people's jobs n such(not all them do) and the dude with brown hair n the suit his name is Conner and the dude with gray hair and the jacket his name is Hank their both detectives (left this out but the dude n the blue suit kinda and blonde hair his name is simon if I said much more I would be spoiling a lot)

this scene in itself means a lot to me--the idea of connor expressing his "fear" to hank after probing simon despite only deviants being capable of expressing emotions is such an epic easter egg in itself. AAALSO.. that preconstruction scene u did was super epic. replayed it like 7 times.

Hecking no! Its 3 year anniversary was this summer(?) and Brian and Amelia revisited it. A bunch of streamers even played it for the first time (like, Ironmouse, SimplyNailogical, LilyPichu/Michael 'Nightmare' Reeves and Sykkuno.)

Out of all the scenes to pick, holy crud this is a good one. Ever since I saw the unfinished animation medley I just knew “gosh I wanna see SAD-ist do DBH”. AND THE WAY YOU DID THE SLOW MO SCENE WITH THE BULLET TRAJECTORY. You took what was there already and said “yes this is extremely anime yes I am absolutely running with it”
This game has truly stolen my heart, I think you should most definitely do more of these little animations of the DBH stories. I would binge watch this if you made it into a series. I like, LOVE this to pieces.

It's been 4 years ever since I've played the game and to see one of my favorite scenes getting animated this perfectly to the expressions, camera angles, etc. its just amazing!!!

The fear Connor shows as well as him genuinely being confused as to why he was scared?? Not to mention the scene where he turns and uses his android vision?? 10/10 perfection

I remember loving DBH so freaking much, watching Jack Septic Eye and other RUclipsrs play it, it’s such a fascinating concept and an absolutely amazing and immersive story, like you actually feel the emotions the androids have! Never have I experienced a game more than that

Oh my goodness, this is just incredible. A fully colored and shaded 2 minute long animation with realistic proportions and actions by yourself is so impressive its sickening. I could probably make a note on what I love in every single frame and still not be able to fully express how good this is

Wow, this is an insane consequence - I've been playing this game with my younger brother because I LOVED the story when it came out, and I played this scene for the first time today!! I had never even seen the scene beforehand haha, my brother and I were staring in shock when we realized how much we had messed up in game. The animation is amazing, and could honestly stand as a professionally made series. The amount you've improved over the years is flabbergasting - this was so fun to watch.

honestly its not a huge mess up considering it fast tracks your finding of jericho but you do lose out on simon being there at the end :'))) which is so painful but luckily it doesn't have major effects on the story

I like the ending and and how the software instability was shown. The subtle way it was presented made it seem and feel like an infection or corruption began to spread, it's pretty cool
This is absolutely incredible in every way! I'm especially impressed by the scene where everything froze to let Connor analyze the situation. It was extremely well done, along with the characters' actions and expressions. Amazing work!
YES. Please revive this fandom for us, Queen. We need it. Like seriously. The peeps behind DBH need to realize we need a DLC and they haven't given us it for years.
the point of DBH was that there is that much content there does not need to be a DLC , how would they go forward with a DLC? Which ending do they go forward , who died in the last playthrough . It'd be too much work . I reckon they should just make another game similar , but not the same . Or they just make an all out sequel which goes after all the endings , and then continues.

@@brunyplayswastaken During the first few months of DBH coming out. We had "Tokyo: become human" which was a short skit of how a deviant girl android changed a mans life and inspired him to find others of her kind.
I believe we can just have two simple choices to start off of.
"The peaceful Markus protest" and the "the violent Markus protest."
Then we have DLCs that focus around other countries and how they handled deviants.
