When the point of sky is “rebirth”.. its always so hard to let go because of the amount of progress you have made
its good though, it allows that progress to make you have even more, especially with wing buffs

I really agree, also if you want to advance quickly go as soon as you have 20 wings because if you have too many its hard to find I guess "statues" and then you just have to stand in the rain for a few minutes after.

The first time I played Sky was years ago, when Eden was still called “The Storm” or something. I remember when I realized that you had to die, i was playing with a whole line of people and I broke off. After, I floated around and tried to honk at them to tell them that it was ok. Then I cried at the ending scene

Ooh this comment brought me right back to the first time I went to eden. My older friends brought me right up to the door right before the eye and did a whole monologue about how I have to go through alone. It was so dumb and dramatic but so much fun and just one of those experiences that you can never replicate again

TGC is incredibly disrespectful toward the fan artists in its community. It’s TOS literally states that they have the right to use the fan content you create. They haven’t paid SAD-ist anything for “taking inspiration” from their work, btw.

Just because someone takes inspiration from something doesn't mean they original needs to be paid just because of it.
One moment that has always really touched me is at 2:53 when the protagonist swirls their hand through the transparent cosmic manta. It's such a unique addition steeped with pure wonder that dovetails perfectly with TGC's creative design goals - to instill a sense of awe and touch upon larger questions of what our place and purpose is in the world. The music choice is spectacular as well. I love this, like so many others. Thank you.

This described the feeling of Sky perfectly. When I first played I was so excited to play this cute game with my friends, where you can fly and adventure finding spirits and clothing. Then they said "Yeah let's go to Eye of Eden, we might as well take her too!" And then it went from a cute game to a terrifying adventure, and you captured that perfectly. During the end of Eye of Eden, somehow I was the only one left, and I wandered alone with the statues, and then you go to that blank space suddenly you remember everything you've done to get there. This animatic is amazing, and perfectly captured this game.

How'd you get through Eden when you were alone? Cause that happened to me, and I can barely move, I keep getting instantly turned into stone when I move, I have died so many times it's crazy, and I'm up to the statues.

I just downloaded the game. And I had no idea what the heck I was doing, especially the friends thing. Can someone help?

Friending. After you light someone by taping on the icon above there head that looks like a candle lighting the other and then lighting your candle you can tap on them or tap Y on nintendo to go to a friendship tree. Technically its not called a friendship tree bc you haven’t friended em yet but you get the point. Select the first button at the bottom of the “friendship tree” and it should cost you one candle. When you press it the other player will have to except the friend request for it to work :>
Then you have a friend if they excepted it lol.
For emotes just relive the spirits. The spirits are easy and hard because some are just built different. When you relieve a spirit what ever emote it has you can do. As for actually being able to get stuff from the spirits like hair cloths instruments a table and masks youll need to go through the area / realm your in. After your done obviously for a new player you cant skip the elders introduction… youll need to tap on the emotes with the red ball in the corner of the emote icon. You cant do this at the hone space.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh candles… a lot of people say not to say anything ab it or show the new player about it but like they need to know in order to progress through the game.
So… candles. Just light up the red and white candles and youll get wax. For devices like android and apple youll need too tap on the candle on the top right to forge the candle. Thats if you have collected enough wax to get one.
Hearts. You can buy one for 3 candles from a normal spirit and for the seasonal spirit guides.
Last. Or if you have questions.
Eden. Just get past the rocks. The wind. And krills. For the first stage at least. For the second part you are needed to die. Once you have given your winged light (yellow glowy people that you shove into you cloak to make you fly) to the statues you will be reborn. You can use the eden candles or descended candles to upgrade your friendship trees and spirit tree things. Oh and you will need to dodge rocks on the second part but at some point the rocks will never stop. Thats when you go in and give your winged light to the statures in there as well. DO NOT JUMP! It will make you loose your wings faster. You want to give as much away as you can. The more candles the better

Oh and the spirits will some times have a call or a standing thing you can use. I love the crab call hhhehehehehhehehe.

As a vet, when I saw this animation for the first time, I legit screamed. I couldn't believe how good it was.
Sky has to be one of the best games ever made. The first time you play, it feels so huge and beautiful. But what’s even better is that the game wasn’t just made for the first play through, it was made to be played over and over.

i absolutely *love* how sounds from the actual game (the krill rumbles, manta calls, etc) are incorporated into the video,, it makes it so much more immersive!!

Sky Lore will always manage to make me cry, and this animatic portrayed the exact feelings of the passage from just a wholesome game to the small fading hope of getting to the end

I never thought I would tear up and have such a reaction over a Sky animatic, but here we are. You perfectly captured the feeling of Sky and what it can feel like when going through it for the first time and experiencing the new seasons. Ikr when the game had a release date on mobile, I pre downloaded it, best choice ever, the game caught my full interest just looking at previews
I remember the first time I hopped onto the game , immediately found 3 people that want me to touch their hands . I did , and then they brought me into a hell of a journey for 2 HOURS STRAIGHT , they carried me through my beginner quest . This game probably has the most heartwarming community ever . You collect little bits of wax to makencandles and send them as gifts make freinds w/other players and learn expressions from spirits in the world. You can learn advanced expressions from spirits by giving them candles and outfits and capes with hearts that friends can give you. and there's little glowing kids throughout your journey, you collect them to give you strength bit by bit so you can fly around.
my explanation doesn't give this beautiful game justice, the music is great too. Nastymold has some great guides on this game. I hope you're able to check this game out. it's fun even if you play just once.

THIS!!! this has to be THE MOST perfect sky animatic i’ve ever seen, its just soo powerful?? i feel this is the perfect way to introduce new players to sky (although there are spoilers) and it also perfectly reflects the journey of all the sky veterans 🥺 as a sky player for almost one year, i’m so happy this exists and we NEED to hype this up more !! every second of it is perfect i was almost brought to tears in the vault part with the mantas and elders, it reminded me of when i was a moff 😭
True is was a great time to have spent those moments with friends and other people☺️. And I hope this will not be that last of sky.
I know! My first time making it to Eden, I was in a group of five, and I was the second to last person left at the end. Me and the last person made it all the way to the open field where you can’t make any more progress, and I realized something was going on. It was one of the best reveals of my gaming life. Can’t wait for the new moths to see it for themselves.

Good to see That Game Company getting recognition after all these years. When Journey released I was worried that they might not achieve very much success again. But when I played sky for the first time a few years ago I could see that that wasn’t going to be the case. The community built around this game is unique and seeing you make this will bring more recognition to the game no doubt. I’m anxious and excited to see what this new surge in the community will bring.

I have been playing Sky for about a year and 9 months, ever since the start of the Sanctuary Season. Never have I thought this small game, who has been in the sidelines gaining a small, yet loyal community, would get noticed by such a big creator as this.
I can't wait. You have one of the most beautifully animated stuff on here, at least to me personally.

just came back to this because a friend got me back onto sky (and we caught the aurora concert together! it was so cool). your work is incredible and i feel like you have the vibes perfect here, from the early explorations to the little crew that collects together through valley/wasteland/vault (and the terror of the krill), to the fear, destruction, and isolation of eden. it's perfect.

Honestly I think this is sadist's animation I'm most excited about, more than the dream smp ones or anything else.

As someone who beat the game multiple time got every spirit and lit every candle (that part was hell btw) I agree that this game is truly special to anyone who has played.
This could honestly be pulled off as a trailer for the game because of how great it is. Thank you sadist for doing this for our community
I made it through the storm for the first time today, and there was something so beautiful about when my two companions died and I had done everything I could to rescue them. It was like realizing all at once there was no making it out of there, that was the whole point. That my mindset switched from "I want to beat this level!" to "I want to do the most good I can right now" knowing I wasn't going to make it out, not knowing if that was actually the point of the game, wondering is there anything else after this? And then when it finally did end, there my friends were, standing right next to me, waiting to fly through the ending with me. DID I CRY A LITTLE? Yes. Was it perfect? Yes.
I felt the same way. The first time I went through Eden I had no real idea what the objective was. My gamer instincts told me to just put my light into every fallen sky kid (statues) and get as far as I could with the others there who I didn't even know. I went back and forth trying to make sure everyone made it. Obviously we all still died but seeing them flying with me in the end and meeting at the reborn area was beautiful.
i watched this when it first came out not having played Sky, now i’m returning to it after having played. and oh my god what a masterpiece,,,,, not to say i didnt appreciate it the first time but AAAA how did u capture the exhilaration of playing it for the first time in an animation??????? this is awesome
If anyone new wants to play Sky, as someone who's played for over a year now, definitely go for it! There's a lot you can do, learn music, explore, make friends, collect cosmetics, and more! It might be a little hard if you have noone guiding you but there's a lot of guides on RUclips! Hope this helps :)

Can Sky be beaten? I got to the last level and was "reborn," and if seemed like you would lose all of your wings no matter what.
@@fantaoramge yes and no! Eden is the last 'level' and when you complete it you loose all your winged light but you get eden candles that you use to upgrade friendship and spirit trees! It's a little of a repetitive game, go collect winged light, go finish eden and so on.
My little sister grinds the ever loving shit out of this game, and while I am a far far *far* more casual player of Sky, it's still so fun to play it with her. This animatic is so damn good, and I'm really glad my sister took me through the Eye of Eden for the first time today bc I actually understand the imagery at the end lol

I’ve been playing sky for a while and let me say, when I was finally able to beat the eye of Eden I realized how many people I met who I was with who never made it to the end. I still don’t know who they were, but I hope they’re able to make it one day like I did.
We all agree that the part of eye of Eden was one of the saddest parts because we saw our ancestors of children and I felt very proud when I saw the elder spirits and I enjoyed playing this game a lot

Seeing someone animating what it felt like to play this game for the first time, was beautiful. They way it suddenly becomes dark and ominous and the end is still something im not used to, even after several playthroughs thru them.
Yes! This animation also showed how beautiful the game is in the beginning and then you get to wasteland and realize it isn’t always just peaceful

Having sound effects from the game made that so much more immersive! The wonder, the beauty, the fun mixed with the tense, scared and bittersweetness of the second half gave me shivers. Well done!

SAD-ist feels like a different level of quality in her animations as each one feels on par if not better than major Hollywood film trailers with such a unique minimalist yet highly detailed style. I feel obligated to check out this game because that was awesome and I've never heard of it until now.

I absolutely got chills watching this, I started sky around the end of Season of Rhythm, and it was one of the prettiest games Ive ever picked up. Its relatively simple game, theres no missions or fights or anything like that, and i think thats why it quickly became my comfort game. Theres nothing to trigger my competitiveness but I can still be able to communicate with people and enjoy sceneries. When I was at my lowest I opened sky and just sat down in Daylight listening to people play music, it felt like im never alone. No words were spoken cause I didnt get to add anyone as I didnt candle run, but just communicating throught emotes and honks was fun enough, I just love this game and i come back just to explore the seasons i missed every now and then, Thank you so much for this masterpiece SADist, im gonna go open sky now lol
Honestly I felt the same way. Sky gave me a lot of comfort for me and my friend who had a lot of mental troubles. Although it was kinda ruined for me because my friends boyfriend started emotionally abusing her through the game so now we're both traumatized. 😓 But before that I played so much to cope with stress haha

This is a very cool take. On many of the other animatics, they capture the serenity of the game. Your’s captures the fear of *not being able to afford the TS-* I MEAN, UH, Yes, the eerie aspects. I’m going to be so happy if I see some new moths coming in saying “I found this game through sadist!”
this brought me back to the first summer this game came out. Looking back, everything was so *new* and terrifying! Eden was a living nightmare. But the gameplay was.. exhilarating? Refreshing?

Though I hope our small but friendly community doesn’t grow to have a bad side because of how many people are starting to play the game. I like sky a lot because there you can find very nice people. But as the game’s popularity starts growing, so is the chance that “bad” people find the game and ruin the experience for others.
I had no idea that Sadist made a Sky animated, no wonder there was such an influx of moths at the time haha, its a very good game and its great to see Sadist realizes the depth of it and the richness it has in story :)

Was literally the coolest animation of Sky I've ever seen. Paired with the background music, you were able to perfectly encapsulate the whimsical, the terrifying, and the heartbreaking elements of Sky and its lore. Love this so much.
