I think the saddest part of Passerine was of the insignificance of it all. For example, Niki and Tubbo were and are such amazing people, but it really shows how fleeting life is and how true talent isn't appreciated. Tubbo and Tommy never got to meet, and Niki died an undeserving death. If you think about it, Sapnap wasn't the enemy, and Dream wasn't either. The fact that they were put at the end really hammers home that point. Such a beautiful story and such a beautiful animation.
i came back to watching this after finally reading it (i still have a chapter to go) and finally noticed all the little details. Especially at the end 3:46 i think its tubbo and someone else (idk) and Niki with flowers from her flowershop at the end. The fic is so good.

i’m not a sentimental man, but something keeps bringing me back here. i remember when this first came out, i remember the emotions it evoked. but the line between emotions from fiction and emotions of reality is a line better not crossed. it should be apparent to us all now that the man we see here and the man that he was created via are not the same. one is a monster, and the other is… what? nothing, now? a memory? i don’t know. I don’t have to know. i’m waxing poetic in a youtube comment section of a dead fandom.
Just because something is no longer with us, doesn’t meant the emotions and memories it gave us are gone too. These stories resonated with so many people because they told tales of love, trust, brotherhood and loyalty. They told the story of how to keep fighting when everything else seems hopeless.
So maybe the actors in these tales are no longer with us. One taken from us far too soon, the other rightfully cast out for causing pain and hurt to those closest to them. But the tales stick with us. They stick with us because they were important, and the emotions they elicited were real.
It’s ok to grieve a time when we came together and told each other these stories.

i’m really just not satisfied with the ending-
so tommy remains dead, they accept that yes that’s fine. but what about philza? do they accept that he will never come back or are they still hoping? im guessing that they die (techno and wilbur) and one day, philza breaks out when they are long gone. since there is not part 2 i’m pretty sure that’s what happened. i think what i really wished for was a happily ever after.

This hits in the gut after you finally finish reading the entire fic; it really shows the pain of living but the happiness that it’s worth. Sure, death is sweet, and running away seems free, but enjoy the life you have while you still have it. You never know how much you might regret not doing something.

Rewatching this at the beginning of July, 2022, this hits differently. Seeing this after recent news.. This animation served as my techno cosplay inspiration, and now... I feel like Wilbur at 2:20... Devastated and confused. But I know that I'll be ok. I'll smile as I dawn my cosplay. I'll remember his laugh and his light in my dark times. Thank you SAD-ist for this animation, it holds a special place in my heart now.

Somewhere, far out in the universe, there is a peaceful kingdom. It's king was wise and fair, and it's general was tough as he was gentle. The castle was huge, with a large garden surounding an elegant pavilion, with a simple grave in the center. If one was to walk the halls of the castle, you could hear music, which wasn't uncommon in the city, but the music in the castle sounded... sad. It mourned, and it cried through the empty hallways; for all the servants were out in the city, celebrating their newfound peace.
If you followed the melancholy music, you'd find a small room, with only two people. The wise king, playing an old guitar, and the brutal general, playing a violin. It was strange, seeing these two play such sad and beautiful music. They played without stopping till the sun drooped down low, casting their shadows against the wall. Only then, in the waning light, did they stop, and pack up their instruments. By then, the festivities had ceased, and people went back to their homes.
No one knew of their secret songs, but the lingering feeling of two other figures reminded them that someone *was* listening.

It was from the stream where tommy got himself stuck between the iron pistons and wilbur, tubbo and technoblade bullied him. (It was before he got stuck btw, wilbur was trying to get his diamonds back from tommy since tommy was placing them around and tommy placed one in the nether and tommy hit him almost pushing him into the lava)

What I find funny is that this SMP is more than a Minecraft game. It’s a story that means just as much to people as a movie. Like Star Wars or Harry Potter. This mere role play among friends is so important in many lives and to provide inspiration and a story that can alter perspectives, even lives.
