First Strike tennis is really about the fact that, according to tennis stats at all levels, about two-thirds of all points are won within the first 4 shots of any given point. Not about going for broke. First strike is about winning the point on the serve or return. Or the shots after those. So if someone wants to practice first-strike tennis, they should be practicing serve + 1 and return + 1.
Great video! I’ve been struggling within my matches against pro players with time. When I train with them, hitting down the middle, etc: I can crush them. In a match, I find myself running and not being set to crush. I try to be dominant on strokes but I’m late. At a lower level, I have no issues. How do I gain more “time”? I’m either attacking on the rise which helps or hitting a deep moon ball to give me some time. Anyways, thanks for your awesome advice 🎾🤗🏆
Great points. First strike tennis gets folks in trouble and leads to going for winners too soon. Solid explanation. I prefer strike when the time is right.

First strike, not first ball.

Moonballs to gain time are perfectly fine. Depth is the most important way to give yourself time
@@MeikeBabelTennis thanks so much! I’ll work on it in my next match 🤗🏆🙏🎾
Great clarification of what it really means.
