  • I do use pro footage a lot as well but I do think there are certain things that we should leave to the pros.
HOWEVER, in this video I'll share 5 things that any tennis player regardless of level can and should copy.

    0:40 recover
    1:52 high % defense
    3:42 1-2 punch play
    4:40 2nd serve
    5:45 return of serve
    Great lesson Meike

I agree! Great lesson for sure.
But the high % defense on the run is not a "gimme". I am working on the slash shot to get out of trouble and recovering better because the regular forehand on the run goes into the net too often for my liking or my opponent is waiting for it at the net with me trying to recover. ;)
High % defense works if you have time to execute is what I'm saying basically.

Excellent tips. We need more videos like this geared towards the less than brilliant club players.

Excellent teaching! I saw another video about this topic from some guy (wasn't as good 😬🙄 haha) and I immediately thought Coach Meike has talked about this in a serve video some time ago! Thanks again! We are all getting older 🎾👍💪💯

I really love you videos! Thank you! You mentioned there are things you can't do anymore that you used to. I was wondering if you could go over your top examples and maybe give some advice on how to compensate for them. I ask because I'm getting older and want to still be a strong player.

Always solid and helpful hints for the average player and above. Practicality is so important in tennis. People try to get too fancy.
