    I installed my 2 inch leveling kit today on my 2016 Silverado and I did step by step like you did on your video! Everything went well just like your video and steps you show on here! I appreciate it! Thank you! Awesome video and steps!

    Thanks for your video. I watched your video first, then me and my buddy did this on his 2013 Sierra 1500 4x4 today. One problem we ran across is that the supplied lower strut bolts were just a smidge too long, causing them to contact the front "half shaft" when the wheel was all the way down. We fixed it by carefully sawing 1/4" off the end off the bolts.

    Now the next thing you want to do is remove the air dam in the front - looks a bit silly with the level but the air dam still on. Take her off and your front end will look better instantaneously.

    I always leave my jack underneath at the same height as my jack stands, its just a precaution since those can fail. You don't want to be under it if they do 🤷

    The bolts don’t go in from the bottom. Otherwise you wouldn’t have had to take all that shit loose

    So where would the extra .5in block go?

  • @waterbug1999
    @waterbug1999 4 года назад +1

    What i dont get, is why you just cant make or take something, put it on your jack to compress the shock/spring up, add the spacer and put the new bolts in.

    why did you need to remove everything
    couldnt you just remove the bottom strut bolts and add the level?

      Sure if you can overpower a sway bar and strut springs. Should only take about 5000# of force.

    • @mikec3454
      @mikec3454 4 года назад +2

      @@ramiresjose39 Haha it's not that simple... yes, that's all you need to in theory but you can't create the necessary gap at the bottom of the strut without at least detaching or loosening the sway bar and upper strut mounts.

      Mike C with some muscle of 3 men, we were able to do the simple method. Unbolt the bottom of the strut, use some pry bars and insert the lift. Done with both sides in about 20-25 min.

    A bit of advice,.. brother u need to run the bolts from the top putting nut on the bottom @12:38. If and when those nut bak off,loosen the bolt will drop out and u will most likely get fukin kilt. Everything else 👍..might wanna go bak and change. I've seen a few trucks totalled due to that same lil minor install,.. be safe..

    I’m glad I didn’t get a rc leveling kit, I just went ahead and bought rancho struts to level out the from. I have 265/75/r17 tires and they don’t look bad with a level.

      Chase how are the Leveling stuts holding up? How is the ride and how is the geometry of the front end with them on? I’m considering getting some for my 2016 Silverado. Thanks!

  • @jerryvwallace2
    @jerryvwallace2 5 лет назад

    I just realized you put the bolts in upside down, the instructions state to have the head of the bolt facing down and the picture in the instructions shows the bolts facing down. Wonder if that’s why you barely have any thread in the nut...

      It would be the same length either way it goes, It's been on over a year and hasn't moved at all. Don't think it matters which way it goes, as long as it's tight.

    Is it possible to skip all the BS and just put a bottle jack under the strut, slip the block in and be done?

  • @Mrfloydbryant
    @Mrfloydbryant 5 лет назад +1

    Those blocks don’t look two inches thick, are they? I have a 17 Silverado and trying to decide to go this route to level or get some rough county quick lifts!

    • @treezy0176
      @treezy0176 5 лет назад

      F Bryant They are not 2” thick. I have the 2.5 rc level and quite happy with it, it’s a 2.5” lift for the front, back block just levels it to the front height. With the whole set up, the truck is the same all around, level. Kinda wished my back was slightly higher. I was able to put some 33x12.5 on my stock 22” rims and perfect fit with the level.

    • @mpfoote
      @mpfoote 5 лет назад +4

      If the blocks themselves were 2" thick, the front end would actually raise by like 3.5". There's a bunch of geometry involved here, but long story short... remember back in school learning what happens when you change the position of a fulcrum? Think about a see-saw. The center of the see saw is only like 18", but the kid on the end gets raised up like 3 feet.
