    We own a K 800 and the sound is so fantastic. The only difference is that it is ported. Never seen another. It's probably 20 years old and we bought it used about 15 years ago.

    I completely relate to the lady who needed to give up her grand piano and find a replacement. I had to let go of my very old and tall Heintzman that I dragged around with me for 40+ years because it just couldn't tune anymore. It was a very sad day. I kept the top/lid as a memento but would love to have been able to replace it. I had Kawai keyboards so wasn't left with nothing, I could still play and continue teaching with but I'd love to get another acoustic.
    I watched a video of a guy who recorded himself playing a Kaway UST7 and fell in love with it, found one on marketplace, a 1 1/2 hr drive away but the guy is not responding to my inquiry. Found another Kawai but don't now the model, a 2 hr drive away and again no response to my inquiry. I've gone to play Baldwin Hamilton piano but it just doesn't have the same sound.
    So far I have not found a replacement, perhaps if I could play the K UST7, or if I could find a K-800 I would likely take it. And yes it would make me cry too, a very happy cry.

      I feel you. I am the proud owner of an old Heintzmann cabinet grand, but can't get it transported to my current home. Nothing compares, but this one seems to have quite a lot of the same features. If only it were more affordable

    Great sound, although it seems to have a brighter edge to the treble than I would expect from a newer Kawai. Maybe it was the way the sound from the duplex scaling was coming through my headphones.

    • @sparkelius

      Its not bright. the sound on this video seems to be processed or recorded through a mic with a brighter EQ. I own one and can say the sound it much more mellower.

    Wonderfull review and it helped me a lot in identifying its unique selling points. I am stucked in between GL10 and K800 as they are very close in terms of pricing. I love the grand piano style but somehow I feel, thanks to your in depth video reviews, K800 is a much better product. Is that so? What do you think? If we leave the style factor out of the equation what would be your pick? Thanks in advance.. :)

    How does K800 compare to GX3 in sounds?

    • @zaheedhasib
      @zaheedhasib Год назад +3

      Take it with a pinch of salt as I am a beginner. K800 to me sounded like Shigeru Kawai SK-2. I played for a long time before deciding. This is way better sounding that GL-20 and miles ahead of K300/500. The only three piano I liked equal to this at filled-to-the-brim Merriam Music outlet, was two Bechstein Grands and the SK-2. Needless the say the pricing and the form difference.

    There is something wrong, why does it sound so digital? It sounds very unnaturally, is there something wrong with the mic? Sounds like a pop piano mode on a digital instrument, very weird. Comparing to ruclips.net/video/SSmZ2D3j22c/видео.html which is also a K800 it sounds awful.
