Science channels attract technophobes?
You learn something every day.
Such an obviously flawed insult could only come from them. Astoundingly naive.
I think they’re honestly mistaken.
What they think is “science” is actually “faith”.
“If you put enough “faith” into the hyper loop, it will bend the laws of science!”
You know you've won the argument when your opponent's best response is to move the argument away from reason and evidence and into emotion by describing you as a "hater".
Reason and arguments never existed on their channel in the first place. There was nothing to move away from.
It also shows what type of education and intellect they really have… none.
@@fomori2 Actually, they have plenty of education and intellect. But they're True Believers, so they deliberately mangle things as a form of denial.
Whenever someone can't fight back be it logically or physically, they pretty much always seem to resort to emotional rataliation.
Extremely popular approach nowadays, rather than consider other peoples opinions with whom you may disagree, it’s easier to decide that they disagree with you because of a personality problem or emotional disorder of some kind, which relieves you from having to even consider or analyze that differing opinion. The most popular method at the moment is to characterize people who have differing opinions as being “haters.”
Posting this from my tablet. A stone tablet.

Atomic powered flying cars would be going to a from.
On the other hand:
I do have meetings with a screen showing the others in the meeting.
I do order stuff using a computer and it gets delivered.
I think there must be some sort of dividing line that says what ideas belong to the list of ones that will happen and what things won't. It must be the result of some sort of built in emotional bias. :) :)
Whatever the exact opposite of what a luddite is, is what most Musk fans are.
I am talking about the kinds of people who want to put computers and touchscreens into refrigerators and have an app for turning their lights on and off.
The more complex something is, the better it is. These are people who want to turn everyday mundane things into shiny new rube-goldberg devices.
After explaining heat expansion like that, you would think Sebastian would be keeping a low profile

We don't hate technology. I love it, and I think a lot of people here do.
What we dislike is when someone is promising "a tube with a hockey table", faster than high-speed trains going through overground vacuum tubes and after a decade deliver a taxi going through an underground tunnel, slower than any other mode of transport, with all safety features removed.
Imagine proposing an air hockey like suspension in vacuum 😅😂🤣

2022 here. Still no hyperloop, still no autonomous vehicles, still no commercial rockets trips. But we still got a Elon full of shit 😂
"At least when trains were hated they actually existed" that about sums it up
@steam driver now we're trying to study wildlife preserves that don't have noise pollution from cars trains or jets.
On top of that TF never said that he "hated" the actual hyperloop. It doesn't even exist so how could he have it? He just hates the Elon Musk sycophants. So now they're straw manning the debate.
@steam driver Except HS2 makes no economic or transport sense and destroys a lot of irreplaceable forest & habitat. The money could be used better elsewhere on more modern technology to get better results. Only those luddites stuck in the age of the grand tail project want it. And the companies putting millions in their own pockets which could have done a lot of good in less grandiose local projects.
that tells a lot about tf how he hates yet nonexistent stuff , truely a neoluddite
@steam driver It's possible the collapse of cheap airlines since covid might shift the economics towards HS2 but the other side of that coin is the massive swing towards working from home with a consequent huge drop in commuter numbers which will far outweigh.
The reality is this is a flagship project which politicians believe will bring them some kudos but will inevitably end up being lambasted as massively over budget and under delivering.
At least the same number of jobs with far more widespread economic benefits as well as greater traffic reduction can be bought for less money.
It makes no sense from any angle except political flag waving and corporate profits. Plus the usual bunce opportunities we see from palms being greased along the way. Are you one of those earning big bucks from HS2 or just another anorak getting wood at the thought of a fast train to spot?

If being against that kind of treatment makes me a Ludite, I will wear the luddite label with pride.
The Luddites were very active near where I grew up and they were in the right on principle and mostly in action too. Like I'm pretty close to Rawfolds Mill and the attack they did on it was a really big event, and no doubt put fear into a lot of mill owners. Breatharians: pfft of course this clown ignores were already here.
Who's saying people can live without eating for 9 years?
I loved the Breatharians video. I always thought that beyond the obvious, there is one good item of proof. The fact that no Armed force uses it. Thing about it, one of the major costs of deploying any armed forced is simply feeding and watering the people involved, together with taking their waste products away and processing them. The supply chains are also a potentially major target for enemy attacks. Destroy an invading army's food supply chain and, after a few days, they are effectively disabled. The logistics required to get the food to people are a major cost to any army. You can bet that if Humans could exist without food, the Armed Forces would already be doing it.

The Luddites didn't "dislike technology", so much as they were protesting against the appalling working conditions that they were being forced into because of that technology.
Better work conditions than working on a farm your entire life doing back breaking work
@@AverageAlien at that time an agricultural worker needed to work far less then an industrial worker who often worked 12 hours days, six days a week with a half day Sunday. Work was hard and dangerous with no support for sick or injured workers, the food in cities was subject to constant adulteration and the water often polluted, leading to many health problems. Unsanitary conditions lead to disease running rampant. Enclosure of the land meant people who became city workers couldn’t just up and become farmers. The industrial revolution did improve the overall wealthy society but it was built on the backs of workers and was only with massive cajoling from progressives, reformers and revolutionaries that it was gradually moved towards a more equal footing.
@@davidjordan697 Bullshit. If that's true the how come so many people emigrated to cities specifically to work in a factory? Because it was easier work. Yes they weren't paid a lot, but they were paid their worth. And repetitive unimportant jobs don't pay a lot, that's nobodies fault. I'd rather be in a slightly uncomfortable factory all day, doing some simple repetitive task, than working with primitive tools in the blistering sun all day, doing back breaking farm work till the day I die.
At least I can progress in a factory. If you're smart enough you can even get a better job! Shocking.
@@AverageAlien for a long time more people died in cities than were produced in the cities. The city population growth was from rural people moving into the city for economic prospects.....based on reproduction rates alone....the rural environment was more nurturing than city life.
Yes there is more money in the cities than in on the farms but that doesn't mean the conditions for living was better.
@@AverageAlien also those repetitive jobs are important. The ability to do those jobs requiring a low entry level doesn't make them unnecessary. The devaluing of the job is from the fact that other workers could replace them. This is why unions scare the shit out of companies. The idea that a company has employees that are "unnecessary" is wrong. If a job is unnecessary it doesn't need to be done not replaced with someone who will except a cheaper wage.

No it isn't. Peer-review is little more than a spell-check. Trying to prove a claim false is the very method of science. The "gold standard" of science is replication.
Not so much biased as it is, as far as we know, impossible. It's logically impossible to prove universal statements (like scientific laws and theories) are true based on induction from limited empirical data.
