    There's so much to do in Philly! Society Hill is THE most beautiful neighborhood in all of the US. Roam around that part of Philly and you'll feel like you are back in the Revolutionary War period. Lots of great restaurants and cafes in the Old City, along with the Museum of the American Revolution, Ben Franklin Museum, Betsy Ross house, Tomb of the Unknown Solider in Washington Square, and other historic sites. After the art museum, walk down Ben Franklin Parkway and see the Rodin Museum (included with Phila Art Museum tickets) and the Barnes Foundation. The Barnes is one of the finest private collections of art in the world. Monday - Friday there are tours of City Hall. See a show in one of the theaters on Broad Street. The Muetter Museum houses a collection of medical oddities that is definitely worth checking out. The archaeology museum at UPenn is worth seeing as well. The Franklin Institute and Academy of Natural Sciences are great science museums located next to each other. Lots of shopping in Center City on Walnut and Chestnut Streets. Rittenhouse Square is a beautiful park that often has craft fairs and other things going on.

The Mutter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia was absolutely amazing! If you aren't faint of heart and find medical knowledge and curiosities intriguing, this place is a must see! And if you're an Edgar Allen Poe fan, you can wander around inside his Philly residence, so cool! And the last one, Elfreth's Alley! This is the oldest continuously inhabited alley in Philly! It's all been kept close to original, architecturally and it is beautiful! It's like stepping back in time!

    Reading Terminal for Chinese? Chinatown is like 2 blocks away. Gotta have a Philly pretzel in Philly! Maybe some snapper soup or some oysters, save yourself on the crab cakes and drive an hour south and get them in Maryland. Comcast Center is a quick wander, and museum row is an enjoyable walk. The Independence Hall area has tons more than Independence hall, like Carpenters Hall, Ben Franklin's museum and press, Christ Church and the Friends Meeting House, to Ben Franklin's grave, the Betsy Ross house, but tour the US Mint and the Philly Reserve Bank and save a penny to throw at Ben Franklin's grave for luck, it's like Philly's Trevi Fountain, but maybe costs a bit less.

    • @JoeL-bg6em
      @JoeL-bg6em 4 года назад

      Sorry for the lengthy tirade above, but to be specify:
      Chinatown is a short walk away, and has a variety of reasons to eat your way through the food variety of a billion plus people. Come for the pastries, stay for the dim sum and wonton and Chinese roasted 'charcuterie' and end it with rolled ice cream.
      Fill up on cheese steaks, anything Italian, and good fresh seafood from as far as the Delaware Bay! Spend the hour drive to Maryland or down the ocean for anything crab, you'll be glad you did.
      Why go to Boston where they didn't even care to save the boat from the Boston teaparty, there is Independence Park, it's more than just a Bell and a hall, America can say the United States started here, literally - from Carpenters Hall to Independence Hall to the Banks of the United States and the Philly Fed & Philly Mint - there's history to see!
      William Penn nurtured religious toleration - celebrate it by seeing Christs Church, a Friends meeting house, or even Old St. Joe's!
      If you're into art and science, take a stroll around Ben Franklin Parkway, UPenn, & the zoo & the many parks near the Schuylkill river and it's watershed it's more than just Rocky, but you to can get a workout.
      ...so (as a penny saved is a penny earned) that's my two cents, and if you save it you'll earn a some wonderful memories.

    I’m a Philly native and you did a good job! 👍🏾
    I’m so glad you got to see the Chinese Lantern Festival. Next time you MUST relax at the Spruce Street Harbor Park! You can roller skate, get some beer and small eats, and chill in hammocks under colorful lights hanging under trees. It’s in Penn’s Landing (our waterfront)
    (P.s. the best cheesesteaks I’ve had come from pizza places!)

    Here's a few suggestions for your next Philly trip; 1) Museum of the American Revolution 2) Constitution Center 3) Penns Landing 4) Schuylkill River Trail 5) Fairmount Park 6) New food hall at The Bourse 7) Northern Liberties neighborhood 8) Franklin Fountain (ice cream)

    Hi Jon. I am a regular viewer of your channel. You give great insights on NYC. I am a native Philadelphian and have lived here all my life. It was great to see your take on my home town. Sorry I did nor run into you . You really covered the top spots very well. I agree with you about the Reading Terminal Market. I feel it is one of the city's greatest assets. Some other suggestions. As far a museums near the Museum of Art there is the Rodin Museum which has the largest collection of works by the French sculptor August Rodin outside of Paris. Then there is the Barnes Foundation which is also on the Parkway. This has a huge collection of French Impressionist and Post Impressionist paintings with the largest collection of paintings by Renoir outside of France. One other suggestion is Fairmount Park which you got a small taste of by the Waterworks. There is an extension of the park called The Wissahickon which has hundreds of hiking trails. I have written way too much. Thanks for visiting our great city. Please come back. Just one question for you. How do you stay so thin with all the food that you eat? Again please come back.

    Dude, you pretty much nailed it! Kudos for mentioning some "less than usual things", like walking the Ben Franklin Bridge, and also for crediting the food scene, which is right on par with anywhere else. I'm always impressed with you videos about NYC, which I am originally from, but am even MORE impressed with this one, especially since I've been here since 1996. Well done, sir! Keep them coming!
