On non clear coat aluminum, i used some blue toilet bowl cleaner gel on my 80s aluminum boat trailer. It did pretty good. Smear it around, let it sit for a bit and srub around and rinse. Looked pretty good. Them rims gonna look good when you're done!
Another good cleaner for aluminium without a clear coat would be Quick Silver in an aerosol. Just be careful using it it will make you choke if you breath it in.
I've got dirty aluminum wheels on 4 vehicles. Been wondering what the best way to clean them is... and using my ignorance as a tool to procrastinate. I guess now I have to clean them all.

Good stuff, that is some real old and baked on grease and dirt, cleaned well with minimal amount of elbow grease.

Looks like it works pretty good. A cordless drill with a polishing wheel would speed things up. Hopefully it doesn’t remove paint or damage rubber.

Hahah. Good luck
Works better with a scotch brite. Less scrubbing.
