Man I thought this channel was dead for not having any upload for a long time. Good to see it back.
Same
Playing right now....been playing it since it released and yeah this game is an absolute gem, my top favourite game now not to mention the original was my first game ever, thank you dad for letting me play it with you when I was just 4
I really like the angle that Leon is lightening the mood and shielding Ashley from the horror of the situation. What could have easily been a traumatizing experience is almost turned into a thrill ride. She’s pretty much having fun by the end of it.
They ruined their dynamic, leon was the expirienced and confidence agent, who cracked jokes to relax the situation, ashley was traumatized getting stressed the whole story, relaxing only at the end. remake switched the dynamic now leon is the traumatized, serious one and ashley is contantly teasing him and cracking jokes , diluting both characters.
As someone who didn't play the original when it came out and tried to play it last year but couldn't get into because of the control, I'm really happy with the remake, I had so much fun on it, and even though it's not as cheesy Leon is still an enjoyable dork. Best part of it though is the bonus round music.
Bro finally remembered his password for this channel's account
Moushely wouldn't exist if RE4 didn't deliver.
The best achievement of this game is that they somehow managed to make Ashley not annoying to deal with
Endearing even. A real switcheroo.
She wasnt in the original
They made me wanna save Ashley always and when she got taken I would go on a killing spree to get her back
They turned Ashley from a loud obnoxious fail condition into an endearing sweetheart which is more than anyone could have asked for
Both are 110% Masterpieces.
I had a great time playing the game and loved the way the levels were redesigned such as travelling over the lake to backtrack for previously locked treasures and quests. I also liked Ashley and Luis much better and thought they played a much greater role in the story. The Las Plagas felt much more terrifying especially with how some of the bad guys could paralyze Leon while forcing the cultists to transform into their more dangerous forms right away.
I was not happy with Saddler and Salazar though. Their conversations with Leon through the castle and island had some of the best lines of the game and gave you some great banter between the protagonist and the villains. They also gave great insight to their personalities with Salazar acting high and mighty, but slowly losing his cool as Leon progressed through the castle and Saddle having a very amused and patronizing tone as if enjoying watching Leon's attempts. They were very obviously missing when playing through the remake and the boss battles weren't bad, but just didn't feel as good as before. The village elder was done better though. His new lines and appearances added an extra level of unstoppable force that upped the tension with him.
The oddest part for me was actually the regenerators. They can now run and stretch their arms out so they should be scarier right? They were still kind of creepy, but it feels like there was a lot less panic with them rushing at you rather then slowly walking and their breathing didn't creep me out nearly as much as the original ones did.
To summarize, good game, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it is the definitive or superior version to play like I would say for the Dead Space Remake. Just a different one for a new experience.
At first, I thought I was hearing things, but I can totally hear the Save Room theme in the background. It’s very faint, but it’s there.
Took a little break to handle some real life stuff for both me and Tom but we're aiming to upload again! Glad to be back!
Understandable glad y'all back
Happy to have you back!
Welcome back 😊
welcome back, looking forward to more content from you guys

I was gonna try to resist getting the RE4 remake but after seeing some of my favorite streamers play it, I went ahead and took the plunge. Just as fun as the original in slightly different ways. Nice that it doesn't COMPLETELY replace the original but does something different enough but still great.
I played through the original game not that long ago and I liked it a lot, but my first impression when I first started playing the remake was "this is going to be game of the year for so many people", it's so good. My only problem is my computer can't keep up with it so that's why I haven't been playing it these past few days, but I really want to
I love RE4's original tone a lot more but I do appreciate the new gameplay style and weapon feel.
But it feels like the story was heavily trimmed down... there wasn't as much character in the story... especially with the villians.
I do adore the update with Luis and Ashley tho.
Ashley's new voice wasn't as annoying and she didn't shout his name too much. The update of the escort mechanics was fantastic. I adored being able to have Ashley swap between being close to far away made traversing and fighting much better!
Luis's character change made him a bit more unsettling where it was hard to really point where the line between trusting him or not was. In the original his "twist" with his employers was just kinda... ehh.
The merchant was fun as always and I did like the updated locations. The colour palettes and atmosphere were far more distinct but still grounded in realism which was nice. And the updated enemy designs were nice too, really goopy and matching the body horror fantastically.
Speaking of enemies, shout out to the additional new enemy that was an inbetween state of villager and tentacle plaga, it gave a good stepping stone to know what to expect next.
Sorry for the ramble. I had no one to like mention this to lol
To sum it up, it's an excellent game that fits the vibes of the modern remakes like a glove and feels like it belongs. But as an RE4 remake, it's not bad but loses so much of the charm that the original had.
So if you want a modern horror/action game, then it's great.
If you want a B-movie (in the most affectionate tone possible) and can stand original Ashley, then stick with the original. (With HD mods and randomization if you wanna have extra fun.)
I notice a lack of footage from the island portion of the game. The last act on the island is what most people leave out when they speak of the original RE4
Holy shit guys, Saberspark just remembered he has a second channel
Leon, after hacking off a Ganado's arm: Looks like your right to bear arms is now limited (shit this is Spain)
Ok it wasn't just my frustration with feeling like I was getting bogged down too easily. It's a thing. Still love the new version even if I feel like my shots are having less impact when punching someone in the face with 9mm.
Platinumed RE4 Remake over the weekend, but I can’t get enough of it. It’s just as fun as OG RE4 with, in my opinion, lots of replay value.
Oh snap return of GamerSpark, glad to see it!
Welcome back, both of you
Those side quest literally extended my play through 2x. I completely get that criticism.
"Leon is trying to save the presidents daughter why would he stop to kill some rats?"
okay then
Leon is trying to save the presidents daughter why would he
-stop to shoot some medallions?
-stop to shoot some moving targets in an arcade shooting range?
-stop to find treasure?
:/ really dude...
Seriously this complaint is just a boomer going “I hate new content keep it the same!”
Oh my God, this channel is alive!!
What a nice way to start a comeback by doing a take on the RE4 Remake. Even I knew from the start that this one is more of a reimagining rather than a remake, just like what they did for RE2 Remake.
After this masterpiece, I really hope they remake RE: Code Veronica next. Played the original PS2 version and really loved it, its like a hidden gem that nobody knows about.
More Gaming Content from Saber!
Good insight!
Yay! I missed hearing Tom.
I would like to see a certain someone to make a minimum gunshot challenge for this game.
*_The channel...! It's finally back...! AAAAAAA--_*
Tom is aliiiiiiiiive
If only all remakes could be good.
This is a fantastic remake while still being respectful of the original. I like the rework of the characters, and how new it feels and how more challenging it is in places. I cared more about Ashley in the remake then I ever did in the original, and I appreciate they kept some of the cheese, and I know there were some complaints about things that were cut, which I didn't even notice the cuts until later, and to be honest I didn't miss them. I also enjoyed that even after beating it, it makes me want to play it again to go back and get all of the things I missed the first time around and lets be honest nothing is more satisfying than going through the game again with an infinite rocket launcher. This remake is already sitting at my favorite game of the year.
Ur low poly avatar so reminiscent of Call of Mini ✨!!
Welcome back, dudes🤟🏾
"He's baaaaaaack!"
I still like the original better but the remake is cool.
To answer the title, yes. Yes it does.
Short answer: Yes and it gave us more. Especially with the teaser after the credits for an re5 remake!
I had a suspicien this is were the moushley meme came from.
QTEs are toned down but not gone.
Resident Evil 4 is one of the best video games of all time!
"Wait, which one?"
YES!
Can I ask, does Ada Wong still feel like the same character from the last remastered title, it just feels like such a different character in what i’ve seen of both games (haven’t played either of that adds perspective)
go Tommy
I mean, from a lore stand point and the character Luis changes. It's a slam dunk, for ramoan and saddler, it's kinda sad.
You should look at NiGHTS Into Dreams and the Viva Piñata games. The Viva piñata games were made by Rare and NiGHTS by SEGA. (Fun fact, NiGHTS was the first game made by the sonic team that wasn’t a sonic)
parrying is so fun
I'm fucking loving 4 remake. I only really got into the RE games with 2 teenage and 7, so this is my first playthrough of 4.
I have listened to videos about the story though prior so not going in fully blind.
On what console you played it???? Because i have the swich and im a one handed player and i want to know if its really a difficult game...
I've been playing the crap out of it. Just need the shooting range trophy and I'll pop the platinum 🏆
Nice! New video

ultrakill when
I disagree on the ‘not a chance’ side. REm4ke about 10% better for me. I feel the same that the former isn’t invalidated. I played the original more times I can count, as well as randomized. I could see myself playing this one just as much, at least if my backlog wasn’t so gigantic.
U gotta gaming channel? Sick
I’m sorry (and I’m not a native speaker), but it bugs me when reviewers and even the original 2005 release call the cult “THE Los Illuminados” or the parasite “THE Las Plagas”. Los and las are both plural conjugations of “the” in Spanish. So when its called “The Las Plagas”, you’re essentially saying “the the plagas”
I didn't play the og RE4 at launch either, or Resi at all really until 2020. I had tried RE4 a couple times, but couldn't stand the controls and combat.
I eventually got into the game, and after everything I've heard about Ashley, I was hesitant. But Ashley was the best escort mission I've ever played.
She's always right behind you, she stays put or hides easily when told, and helps with set pieces eagerly. I honestly didn't get the hate.
I haven't played the new one yet, but with everything around him being serious and Leon being so...blasé? Almost to a point of levity, kinda feels like he's almost... insane.
She even ducks out of the way if you point your gun at her!
Yes
I recently played the original again, I played it like 20 times back in the day on the ps2 I really enjoyed it then but my recent play through was really frustrating I played though the campaign and the separate ways mission now I'm playing the new one I'm have a lot more fun the the original, I feel a lot of people won't let their nostalgia go and give this one a chance or give it a chance and give it a really low rating because it's not the original version, I'm playing it on ps5 myself, I've also seen some funny clipping lol
I thought you weren’t posting in this channel anymore. Is this where you’ll post a review of night in the woods?
Yup!
@@Saberspark wow, I didn’t think I’d get a response! I’ll remember to keep my eye out for it!
So I’m not a fan of horror or horror games but something about hearing fans talk about it be it Phelous or someone else, i can’t help but listen despite knowing nothing 😊
As someone who also dislikes horror games, this isn't a horror game, it's a silly action game with some minor horror elements and it's fecking brilliant
I think what they should’ve done is remake code Veronica that’s my personal favorite resident evil game
BASED TOM
Personally, I prefer the remake over the original, but ONLY because of the movement. Ive played through both, loved both, but the upgraded movement is what sells me. Would have loved the cheesy lines, but i still really enjoyed the remake.
I thought this channel was dead.
Can you talk about the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale game
Any chance you can do a review of Hi-Fi Rush
YES TOM YES WATCH

Wake up, Resident Evil fans, new Saberspark 64 video uploaded!

I never got into Resident Evil 4 (or the series as a whole, for that matter). I'd always get to the castle and my interest would die off. As time went on, I wouldn't even get that far. I just didn't like the game.
Now that I'm older, I've been thinking about maybe getting into the series lately. The remakes and even RE7 have actually piqued my interest and actually look like they fixed a lot of my annoyances with the series.
Yeah Id think rather play the original resident evil 4. As all that I wouldve love to have seen in the remake. Is only in the original version. Even if assement ada and mercenaries are resold as dlc they probably wont leon and Ashley's alternate outfits which are unlocked post game. And thats probably because ashely's club outfit would be considered too sexual while her suit of armor would be considered too demeaning. But who knows maybe that one is actually in there. While leons mafia outfit and Chicago typewriter are either sold as dlc or removed entirely. Lets not forget mercenaries mode. I dont know if its in there or not no one has mentioned it. So either its not in there or people just didnt give a big enough crap to actually mention it. Either way Im just gonna rebuy the original and pretend the remake doesnt exist.
knife durability why?
Adding challenge
The knife is much better and you can parry
@@nevermore7285 Yeah it would break the game if there was no durability.
I know that pony 🐴🐎😅
Shenmue had QTE before. "But but my immersion" then don't do it, I don't get the whole "immersion Breaking" Crap, just don't do it.
I personally did it because it does pay off and makes the game more fun or allow you to get an upgrade faster, do not care that killing 3 rat just take me less than a minute.
How did I not know about this channel
I’ll smash that subscribe button
The mods made it better
I loooved the original Rez evil 4. Played it in highschool and loved Leons cheezy one liners. The new game is fantastic as well but I hate that they changed Weskers voice with the most basic ass villain. Hate it. And I like original Ramon better but both games are pretty great. The chainsaw guys always had me screaming and running. And original Ashley's screaming drove me bad shit crazy. 😂
I am genuinely baffled by the mental gymnastics some people go through to somehow prefer the original. The only reasons I've been hearing is lack of the legit stupid, and overly cheesy stuff, and the fact you cant perv on Ashley anymore. Neither of which are great reasons at all.
Well, some might prefer the more tense, slower gameplay but yeah other than the cheese there's not much that's worse
Also I supposse the music too, but then again, it's still very good, plus you can get the OG soundtrack for it, so thats kind of a non-issue too. It's such a huge expansion and improvement in nearly every way, the fact so many are dismissing it because RE since 7 and 2 Remake is going through a franchise and image overhaul, and they are getting rid of the blatantly stupid cheese from the series. They're obviously keeping some camp and silly stuff, I mean, that kinda is a part of the series identity, but again, they are making it a bit more grounded and a bit more believable, which I think is very nice.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is like the ten season filler of Naruto, nothing but fluff. They took what was basically the tutorial area that was Midgar and made it the setting of a 33+ hour game.
I'm not liking the way you're saying it's harder to get ammo and that the knife and body armor break
Review Witcher 1 and Witcher 2
No. There is so much cut content, and they expect you not to notice with side quests that are mostly fetch quests and literally go here and kill rat padding. There’s pop in, slow loading textures and weird issues with the HDR. (I’m on XSX). The remake is great, but far from perfect and far from better than the original.
Both games are great in their aspects but still I prefer a little more the original, mostly for how chessy and corny was.
The remake is way more serious and morbid which is fine I guess but I already played lots of games like that nowdays which I'm kind tired of that.
Also nice to see this channel back! 😄
I really miss hear Tom.
Still prefer the original but I did like most of the remake
Eow
"The color pallette." Do you mean 2005 brown? It's hard for me to look at RE4 after RE4make. No disrespect to your opinion or you, though.
Bro no offense but i legit forgot this channel existed 😂😂😂😂
both are good it's just that the knife is unlimited in the original while the remake has better knife attacks but is limited
I have mixed feelings about the remake. For the most part it was a good remake, but the thing that annoys me most about the remake is in the original it didn't matter how fast you finished the game as long as you got it done you got the unlockable content. I prefer it when games let you play at your own pace.
Have you seen the mods? Of course it delivers.
Quick description for true RE fans:
Yeah, the remake is actually better than the game that onehandadly almost ruined the series back at the day^^
Personally the Resident Evil 2 Remake is my favorite. Nothing beats the feeling of Mr X breathing down your neck as you explore the RPD
