Ive been using the Zoom g 1 x four for several years now and cant really complain at all . There's a ton of tone's in this small affordable unit that can be tweaked to anything you want..i still dont know everything thing about it and ive used it for over 3 years..Not to mention the software!! I've Tried several others cheap alternatives and keep going back to it.
On your comment about IR being matched/fixed to the Amp. The 'ZIR' file is separate, but named the same as Amp.... Maybe we can just rename the files to pick-n-choose combinations.
Excellent review! If i understand correctly, the G2 Four doesn't have a build in Audio interface, and you have to connect your own Audio interface to connect to your DAW in your PC right?
@@Soumil-f7 Thanks! You can use the G2 FOUR as an audio interface. It is built-in and works fine but you might need to install a driver if you are on Windows.
Awesome demo, thank you! I think the G1 four sounds great, but the G2 four sounds more natural and realistic. I'm looking for a small bass multi-effect and I'm torn between the B1 four and the upcoming MS-60B+ (which should sound just like the B2 four). I like how the B1 four works and its features, especially that it also has an app for macOS/Windows. The MS-60B+ only has an iOS app, and I use Android, but it might sound better...
@@Tone-Quest yeah they use multiple on different loudness levels, than they let them crossover, to simulate a amplifiers response to how hard you pick your strings..sounds a bit like a doubler to me, was probably not their intention but still..
G2 sound very bad, are you sure it's in correct settings? Is there a switch for direct output. The G1 sound way better, that is surprising as it's not very good with the cab sim.
Good review, I hope you compare Nux MG-400 vs Zoom G2 Four

I'm still using my outfashioned G1on + cuvave for IR. For my taste (and my pocket) this combo still beat both tested in this comparison
I still have my G1on too. Great unit.
How do you place a wah? Autowah or dedicated, I imagine.
you should retry a comparison but only using one mic at a time for the g1x cabs . the 50/50 blend just sounds like phasing issues .

Did you try The Vibe and Octave fuzz? Is it passable as a Hendrix pedal?

@@Tone-Quest thanks a lot! And i believe this feature is absent in the G1X?
@@Soumil-f7 If you are talking about the G1X FOUR, you are correct.

I agree
B2 four ❤
Like the G2Four, the MS-60B+ has multilayer IR...
@@mungewell I bought the MS-60B+, and I'm very happy with it! Feels great and sounds awesome!
@@VeitLehmann me too 😀 working on supporting it with 'zoomzt2'.
What is software name for edit in pc for g2x4 ?
Guitar Lab for G2 FOUR, but it is for Smartphones, not the PC.
Zoom G2 four has cabinet simulation or Impulse response?
I think their wording is impulse responses.

I like g1 much more. Sadly no clean sound in demo. Anyway thank you.
G2x amp models (perhaps it is mainly the cabinet models) is really miles better than G1x models.
Soujd much much closer to rhe real amp cabinets

When the G2 FOUR first powers on, you get a choice of connecting via line (direct) or to an amp. I obviously selected line.
G2 sounds way better
It’s all distortion
Perfect Demo
