Okay so mine had like finished downloading and now i dont see a file or anything popping up with the WoW classic but it says its "seeding" does that mean i still need to wait? or what
ok, all you have to do after its done seeding is right click on it and press "stop"

Just save the realmlist.wtf file in the main "WoW Classic" folder. It doesnt really matter where the file is saved.

if anyone is having issues with saving it in notepad you have to right click notepad and go into properties and uncheck the box that says read only and then when you actually save it if it pops up in a new window and realmlist isnt on it then you have to change the save file type to all files and not just text

ive been playing wow since i was 5 and recently started again, been playing for a few months but really feel like its just so BORING like its the same repeat and after a while the classes get boring, especially around level 35+ and when i try to start a new character i have to grind through the worst starting zones in existence that move so slow. But then after that things go way to fast compared to how they used to. I remember being in dalaran and having to go to the portal room to que up for a battleground. Those were the days rip.

I try typing in the server thing on the notepad but when I save it it tells me to save it to another file. So I just put it in the vanilla wow file and tried opening the game. When I log in it says disconnected from server.

The file is set to read only. All I did was delete it then make a new file called realmlist.wtf

the torrent window looks absolutely nothing like the one in the video. never used torent in my life here. very confused
Force start won't make the download, download faster. What you are seeing here is you connecting to more peers, this allows you to download from more people which would boost download speeds. It is simply coincidence that your download speed went up when you pressed "force start".
So my problem was that i need to right click on realmlist before changing anything, go to properties and click off the check box for read-only. This will allow you to save your changes without have to make a new file. Then just have "set realmlist logon.lightshope.org" and it worked.

Am I the only one who wants to get back into WoW but feels like its pointless. You do not get to experience any of the content IMO. You get to 15, auto que dungeons until end game and then play from there. Am I the only one wishing you still had a leveling grind that forced ppl to complete all the content leading to end game so zones are popular again? I think that is my biggest excitement about Vanilla, everyone is back on the same level. Really wish they would make a complete re-mastered addition of every expansion and release them over time again. Adjust all the leveling back to Vanilla pace, damage of mobs, dungeon difficulty (retain the smart AI from current expansions) take away LFR / LFD, flying mounts dont bother me with the later expansions. Keep graphics progressing as the expansions come out again, talent trees I would prefer to remain similar to Vanilla and progress that way but I think I could tolerate new style IF and ONLY if mobs, dungeons, and leveling remained the difficulty of Vanilla.

Been saying for years they need to release it exactly how it used to be, and they'll see how many older fans flock to experience the nostalgia of spending hours grinding through every zone and every quest, and maybe over time release the first couple expansions up to lich king to keep the hype going
Tried playing the modern WoW a few months back and it felt nothing how I remembered, was level 25 after just a few hours and had no flow and glided over many previously loved zones/dungeons
Dude I never got to chance to get to play myself but let me tell you retail wow is one shitfest especially when it comes to newcomers.
Questing= You rarely see any people and you look really bland while other's seem to not give a damn what you doing. Also it's very boring. Nothing is happening, you won't die, no story, very dull.
Dungeons= Once you get bored doing quests coz nobody seem to do them you go dungeons yeyy. You see people and you do together the dungeon trough lfd.
After the dungeon is complete there is around 30% chance that the same group wants to do more. Seriously.
+++ Which fucks me so much about retail is that every time I played the dungeon players are all using heirlooms and shit doing damn ton of damage compared to me and look like fully geared even tho they are not able if normally leveling.
It just looses the motivation soooo fast
It's not all about the nostalgia that is just one bullshit statement that the retail players try to spill. Had 1 month sub and played for 1 week leveled to 82 + 1 other account to 62. Both servers never seen people only see afkers and people feel like robots.
Game was made to be social, MMO. Not rush trough dungeons.

one thing about dragging the first file into utorrent with me its wasnt just draggable i had to go through torrent and add the file that way bc it wouldnt work with just dragging it

I figured it out. step 1 click WTF folder. click config. scroll the the ABSOLUTE very right. Replace the old "logon.somethingwhatever.com" with the new "logon.lightshope.org". Save. Step 2. Go now find the 2 files that both say realmlist.wtf. Delete the old one. ( this video shows you to save a new realmlist wtf but it doesnt tell you that you need to go delete the old redundant on). Worked for me finally. Hope this helps

while downloading the client from the from the linked source, Opera browser was oddly randomly installed then came along Avast Antivirus that so randomly to also install without my knowing, so idk what thats all about? I somehow got them both uninstalled (took awhile) and did a quick scan on my pc with my normal windows antivirus and didnt see anything threats, so it was very random and not sure if any hidden threats came with it, so just be careful guys.
Sorry to necro your comment but during the installation of Utorrent it asks if you want to install programs such as Opera, I got Mcacffe WebAdvisor, you must have either skipped through the installation process unknowningly accepting the optional installs.

So I had downloaded the client a while back when nostalrius relaunched but now i cant seem to change the server. I have updated the realmlist with the lightshope logon but everytime i launch the program it still shows the Nostalrius pve server. Any ideas how to fix this?
This is an old video but i legitemately cant find the realmlist.wtf file in my folders. Ive got the one i dl'ed from Retro WoW but im supposed to change the one in the ACTUAL blizzard files if im understanding correctly and they dont show up at all.

I had the same problem people are having where when i try to log in it says "disconnected from server" after looking for an answer everywhere and not finding anything i saw a folder within the world of warcraft 1.12 folder called WTF, inside that folder is a notepad file called config, open it up scroll all the way to the right and change the last set of text in qoutes logon.lightshope.org leaving the qoutes. Hope it helps.

This worked for me. Just copy and and paste "logon.lightshope.org" where us.login.warcraft info is and you should be all set.

did you change your realmlist?
No, but Elysium wasn't an option so I used another one, Lights Hope or Lightbringer.
Checked again and Elysium is still not an available realm so I use/used Lightbringer.
I follow your vid step by step and I noticed a couple differences on my end. When I try to save the realmlist is says there's already one there and it won't let me replace it (says it's read only and try another way/file etc). Then there's the issue of not seeing Elysium as an available server on Lights Hope so I chose Lightbringer. Everything else was just like in the vid but when I try to enter the username/pw that I created on Lights Hope acct into the WoW sign on it says "connecting" but then it says "disconnected from server". I tried it multiple times with the same result.

It says unable to connect to News Serve. Please check the connection and try again later. But i have the lightshope download thingy in my realmslist and i cant get around this, if i press play it just sends me a crash report. Please help me i really want to play.
Are you sure you have the correct realmlist? Lights hope merged their servers, they may have changed their realmlist. If it still doesnt work, try a different vanilla private server. If you still cant connect, try to reinstall vanilla wow.
Ive already sorted it out, you need to start wow.exe not the launcher. Hope this helps

Chill ass turtle delete the realmlist.wtf file. Then make a new file in the same location called realmlist.wtf. Then obviously when you make the new file just type in the command “set realmlist logon.lightshope.org” then save it

Unzip the file, download the program 7-zip to extract the files.
By the way it's not "one point one two" it's "one point twelve" as it's not using standard base form. 1.12 is higher than 1.9 for example

It may have something to do with your realmlist, generally when I get that error it is because the realmlist is incorrect.

Lol this is not an official thing. These are private servers, you need to make a new account with the website you're playing on.

Once the torrent is finished downloading and it says seeding, you right click and press Stop. That should finish it for you.

Dont try to open it in Utorrent, open the file where you downloaded it. The file will be where you specified the location at the start of the torrent, for example, desktop.
