I was always sorry to hear that since we fans love Solo so much, but I've seen the same thing from Bill Murray who loves attention from the fans but really can't stand Ghostbusters or Peter Venkman. Lovely touch, remembering Carrie Fisher. "I feel her presence." Very canon and heartwarming. But not only is he Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill remains one of the best Jokers in Batman Fandom.
Harrison's mumbling is horrible, I don't think that's what he intended to say. He said "This is a lot more people that showed up.... for my star. A lot more." He was looking around at the large audience right before he said that and I'm positive he meant "This is a lot more people that showed up here than for my star" meaning the crowd was bigger than his crowd was. He wouldn't be that rude and say his crowd was larger.
The reason isn’t simply because of his demeanor here. Harrison is famously a drug user, not that there’s anything wrong with that in the slightest if you’re responsible about it. I still love the guy, but that’s why so many commenters are saying he’s high, it wouldn’t be out of character. As for whether or not he is, that’s up to you.
He expressed humanity and how important it is to respect and love each other. He feels her presence because when a person dies, only the physical body is affected, but never the soul, it actually equals life. Life has nothing to do with death, is exists anyway! LIGHT and LOVE ♥
mr-ruiler Not until July he isn't. Although once you get older you inflate your age so that people will remark on how well-preserved you look. He looks okay for mid-seventies. Really okay.
We didn't go to the force awakens or The Last Jedi to see Daisy Ridley or John boyega. We went to those movies to see Harrison Ford Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. And they didn't even have the common decency to put them all in the same room together for even one scene. That part in this where he jokes to Mark Hamill and they both start laughing and he puts his hand on his shoulder, we needed to see that, we needed to see that friendship again in the movie and they permanently deprived us of that. It reminded me of the scene on the platform in Return of the Jedi where Luke says "I used to live here you know" and Han says "you're going to die here you know."
I agree it would have been nice, but it wasn't part of the narrative. I think the writers did a great job fitting in the original cast. Let's not get too sentimental, and nostalgic, we need to remember that Harrison Ford had not been enthusiastic about being in a Star Wars film since the 1977 original film release. His character had to be written as essentially dead, frozen in carbonite, because he had his reservations of being in a third film. Now, let's also remember that Star Wars evolved to be bigger than Luke and Leia. It's about Anakin Skywalker, and the reverberating effects of his actions within and throughout the generations of his family. I realized that when I saw Return of the Jedi for maybe the hundredth time. I finally realized that Obi Wan and Darth Vader were the key figures in this trilogy. As we later saw in the Prequels, Lucas expanded the narrative of these two characters, and now, we have an expanded narrative on the lives of these characters we followed in the original trilogy. So, as we only saw Obi Wan and Darth Vader as proponents/opponents of Luke, we later learned that they were so much more, had been through so much more. We can consider ourselves lucky, our generation had the original films as young children, experienced the magic, were able to grow and analyze these films as adults, while also being able to see the stories of the Anakin and Obi Wan adventures as adults, to understand the internal drama the two "brothers" dealt with. Now, as even more mature and polished Star Wars fans, we are able to see how the lives of our original trilogy heroes played out, to see how leaders of a rebellion deal with the actions that were necessary for them to carry out a cause that was almost entirely built on Hope. It's more interesting that it did not end up just happily ever after, don't you agree? I think it is quite exciting to see and learn about Ben Solo, and his struggle with dealing with his bloodline. Episode IX is shaping up to be an epic conclusion to the Skywalker family saga! And for the record, I didn't watch TFA to see Daisy or John either. I went to see the continuation of the Skywalker family saga. And it has been building up to a great climax. Does anyone else get the feeling that Ben Solo dies in episode IX? I just think this chapter of Star Wars closes out the Skywalker lineage...from a certain point of view. Take care everyone, I love all the mature dialogue our love of Star Wars creates!
yeah, he just seems a little uncomfortable, but the speech is completely genuine. I don't think he kept looking at the notes because he needed a script, but just because it helps if you aren't great with public speaking. Sure, he is an actor, but that doesn't mean he's built for public speaking
For those baffled by the laughter and cheers at the mention of Carrie, It's clearly because a bunch of Star Wars fanatics heard the word "Presence" as in "Presence in the force". Likely a bunch of star wars fans leapt at the chance of seeing two of the cast members together and got carried away in their own hysteria.
I understood that while watching, but you have to admit it that for a split second you did think that it was a bit “rude” or “insensitive” to laugh at that. I can’t think of any better words than those two.
Great Scott, three minutes of Harrison Ford speaking in front of people?! This footage belongs in a museum! He's certainly come a ways with interviews and public speaking. Shia LaBeouf got one thing right: He's the Man's Man. Harrison just carries such a presence... ...Mark's a great guy too! Weird that it took so long for him to get a star. He may not have gone on to be a badass archaeologist, but Mark's a talented chap. His voice work speaks for itself.
You can tell he was stoned and probably had a whole nother speech typed out but he didn't read most of it, and spoke his honest sincere thoughts, something he never ever would give the effort for anyone else.
Marshal I felt when he said that, he meant it more in an ironic way as if to say “I can feel her presence and its no different now than what it was when she was alive” both sad and humorous. Great guy, reminds me of my grandad.
I always thought it was sad luke and han never saw each other again in the sequel trilogy.... you can tell they are sincere friends IRL even though they rarely see each other
It’s amazing that Harrison actually showed up. These days he seems so bored and uninterested in the film business. So it was very nice of him to be there for his old friend.
The chemistry of the original Star Wars "trio" is legendary and can be felt here. We were sold three Star Wars sequels that had these actors signed on and they didn't give them one scene together...not a flashback, not a dream sequence, not a normal scene. The people who made these sequels, most importantly Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams, who are the ones who killed off Han Solo before he could meet up with Luke again, do not understand and do not respect Star Wars or its fans. They are people who took the job for the paycheck and nothing else.
If only we had seen like this in the sequel films where Han talks to Luke on the island about all the good and joy he has spread across the galaxy. they embrace and Luke rejuvenated in the force comes to the aid of the resistance in person. Such a simple moment could have made the sequels so much more heartwarming.
I think it says a lot that Harrison and George showed up to this. They don't seem to be the most sociable people, so for them to want to give these speeches for Mark shows at the very least a decent amount of respect if not outright love for Mark.
Harrison watched their original screen test. He remembers Carrie and praises Mark as a person. Harrison finally respects Star Wars which changed the film world. This is such a classy tribute.
Awwww, how nice of him to mention Carrie. Quite forgiving of him, considering the picture she painted of their relationship during A New Hope in her book The Princess Diaries!
Harrison actually celebrating Star Wars? Never thought I’d see the day. This is also one of the first times that I’ve seen him seem at least interested in what he does
Harrison: I'm really sorry we don't have the other member of our trio here. Chewie: Raaaaaaaaaaaawwwwrrrrrrrr Harrison... but I feel her presence. Chewie: ror
The clapping after the mention of Carrie almost seems disrespectful. It was a somber moment in his speech and they celebrated. The look on Harrison’s face says it all.
Harrison Ford: I'm sorry the third member of our trio couldn't be here with us to celebrate, but I feel her presence. Me: He must be using the Force. Rest In Peace Carrie Fisher.
He's not wrong. Mark could've so easily been typecast as Luke. He was able to embrace the role while becoming his own thing which especially back then when people really only knew you from the movies and kind of expected you to be a certain way Mark was able to carve out a path where he could do anything he wanted.
Mark seems to look at Harrison as sort of a big brother. Inspired, & humbled when they're together because they basically grew up together in a way. I can see Harrison probably brought out the best in Mark, whether he knew it or not. I feel that, as a middle child.
The best thing about this is that it hasnt anything prepared..he just speaks about his good friend...also wtf when the crowd laught when Mr Harrison said that he feels Carrie's presence
Harrison Ford :-). What a gracious man and a successful actor :-). Harrison does sound fairly shy in some ways when he was making his speech at the Hollywood Walk of Fame and what a deeply modest person he is :-). Despite sounding fairly shy he appeared to be very friendly and nice and certainly said some really nice things about Mark Hamill and it's really nice to see Mark Hamill standing next to Harrison Ford at the event they attended together like friendly old buddies :-). Plus it's really good to see that Harrison Ford is still acting even though he's over 75 now and still looks similar to how he did when he starred in Indiana Jones and Star Wars :-). He still looks handsome despite he's getting on in age and still acting and a remarkable part of Hollywood as of 2018 :-). I hope Harrison Ford lasts with Hollywood for years and years and years from 2018 onwards because he is such a successful man :-). He seems to have more friendliness in himself than I though he really did because in some of his successful films he appeared to be really tough and strict when acting as some of his well reknowned roles Harrison Ford did but oh well :-). I hope we still have him for many more years and what a great video :-). Thanks for sharing :-). From Foxy :-).

I’m also not sure that was a Star Wars joke. I think he was sincere
ITS FUNNY EFF OFF
@@ricardotron500 lmao youre just mad cause youre one of the dudes who laughed and realized it was inappropriate and trying to justify it now
Lovely touch, remembering Carrie Fisher. "I feel her presence." Very canon and heartwarming.
But not only is he Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill remains one of the best Jokers in Batman Fandom.
And Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar The Last Airbender, which is considered one of the greatest animated shows of all time.
This is like a Dwight Schrute speech:
Mark is a person. He was the protagonist in Star Wars. He’s always been Mark. I’m proud of him for being Mark.
ya this speech was very lackluster.
@@simond7225 haha!
@@simond7225 I’m heard that reference but can’t place it, what’s it from?
@@simond7225 RIGHT! Thank you
The hug said it all.
Luke is so trust friend and looks on Han like they were brothers :)
The reunion we were denied but finally got!!
Not a reunion without the whole squad 🤷🏻♀️
Harrison, what do you think of Mark winning a star?
-I don´t care...
"More people showed up ... at my ceremony. A lot more."
Therover1977 that's his humour. He jokes like that all the time ! Abit like jimmy carr likes to offend !
LOL!
My brother
Very cool of Ford to show up & make complimentary remarks about Hamill.
I like how you can tell Harrison only says what he means and believes. He is a genuine and respectable guy.
Mark deserves his star⭐️!!
Long time in coming
For The Joker alone.
Carrie Fisher we miss you and you the princess of the heart
Stop assuming he’s high he’s not. In real life he’s really a quiet and private person.
How do you know
The reason isn’t simply because of his demeanor here. Harrison is famously a drug user, not that there’s anything wrong with that in the slightest if you’re responsible about it. I still love the guy, but that’s why so many commenters are saying he’s high, it wouldn’t be out of character. As for whether or not he is, that’s up to you.
He is not high he told me
lmao dude looks high as a kite. why do people get pissed off or become surprised when someone suggests their worshipped celebrity is high?
Shut up battyman
He really does have that old school professor vibe here, it gives me an idea of what he will be like in Indy 5
He expressed humanity and how important it is to respect and love each other. He feels her presence because when a person dies, only the physical body is affected, but never the soul, it actually equals life. Life has nothing to do with death, is exists anyway! LIGHT and LOVE ♥
Nonsense! Death is like a light switch. And the Soul does not exist. Men invented that idea along with Religion.
Mark Hamill is just now getting a star?!
Right? He is the star of the highest grossest film ever next to Gone With the Wind.
Harrison is looking a lot better here than he did while making the Force Awakens, I think he's getting younger :)
Warribo hes 76 damn
mr-ruiler Not until July he isn't. Although once you get older you inflate your age so that people will remark on how well-preserved you look. He looks okay for mid-seventies. Really okay.
+mr-ruiler - - his birthday was on Friday ((07.13.1942)) ... now, he is 76 years old.
@mr-ruiler - - his birthday was on Friday ((07.13.1942)) ... now, he is 76 years old.
he was 75 (way back when) he did that speech.
Every time a celebrity dies, Harrison Ford gets younger
It’s really sad when you realise that this is the only Star Wars cast of the original trilogy we have left.
It’s not 😐
Anthony Daniels Ian Mcdiamrd Billy Dee James Earl Frank oz Warwick Davis
@@siderofficial I meant of the original 3 leia,Luke and Han
@@Nbaker2010 oh so the iconic OT squad. There was never a original 3 because we had Alec Guinness David Prowse Peter Mayhew and so on
We didn't go to the force awakens or The Last Jedi to see Daisy Ridley or John boyega.
Disney's Star Wars movies are toxic trash. Unbelievable tragedy what they did to Star Wars.
Master Oogway Speak for yourself.
TONYSTARK557 He speaks for all the true fans. He speaks for the majority of fans. I bet you're 15 years old at the oldest.
I totally agree with you.
That's actually a very nice speech.
Yes it is
I thought he was on drugs
yeah, he just seems a little uncomfortable, but the speech is completely genuine. I don't think he kept looking at the notes because he needed a script, but just because it helps if you aren't great with public speaking. Sure, he is an actor, but that doesn't mean he's built for public speaking
Two of out my three favorite childhood heroes! Her presence is there. May The Force Be with You!
Whatever&Stuff no way,u dont laugh like that, that was a mocking laugh
Andrew Tarantino you can’t genuinely be that stupid, can you?
You can tell he was stoned and probably had a whole nother speech typed out but he didn't read most of it, and spoke his honest sincere thoughts, something he never ever would give the effort for anyone else.
why the hell did the crowd laugh after he mentioned carrie fisher? :S
ecMonify he said he can " feel her presence". A reference to the Force and quote from the movies
Someone in the audience said something about the her Force.
He quoted Star Wars
Marshal I felt when he said that, he meant it more in an ironic way as if to say “I can feel her presence and its no different now than what it was when she was alive” both sad and humorous. Great guy, reminds me of my grandad.
I can tell that he was about to said that seriously.. he does feel her presence
But dont believe me please watch it...
You are right. The chemistry of the original Star Wars trio is legendary and unmatched.
I sorted wanted Harrison to grab Mark and say "I wasn't gonna let you have all of the reward!"
he doesn't remember any of his lines from star wars.. or maybe any movies he's in.
LOL
He does! You should watch the Comic Con star wars panel of 2016.
Vivi Li - I'm gonna have to check it out.
Arnaldo Lopez He did remember the “I feel her presence” though
If only we had seen like this in the sequel films where Han talks to Luke on the island about all the good and joy he has spread across the galaxy. they embrace and Luke rejuvenated in the force comes to the aid of the resistance in person. Such a simple moment could have made the sequels so much more heartwarming.
Perfettamente Vero. Molto Vero
When he starts talking about Carrie 💔💔
I think it says a lot that Harrison and George showed up to this. They don't seem to be the most sociable people, so for them to want to give these speeches for Mark shows at the very least a decent amount of respect if not outright love for Mark.
Mr. Ford is such a character 😂 he is brilliant when he performs in movies, but in real life, he’s so awkward lmao love that man!
Harrison watched their original screen test. He remembers Carrie and praises Mark as a person. Harrison finally respects Star Wars which changed the film world. This is such a classy tribute.
Its insulting that it took this long for Mark Hamill to get his star.
I'm really glad this video that was recorded off TV, has a water mark on it, to prevent theft.
Mark, you are awesome. So many of us love you, for the joy you gave us, and continue to give us on the silver screen!
Both of their personalities and dynamics are surprisingly similar to the characters they played in Star Wars.
What a disrespectful crowd..
FlownXp how are they
Josh Stanton They freakin laughed when he said “I feel her presence”... Which obviously wasn’t meant to be a joke.
i think it was a joke, you know cause her charactor was force sensitive? dont be such a moron... humour on death isnt necessarily disrespectful
Yeah that's not what he meant since he didn't crack a smirk.
It was a joke. Ford doesn't laugh much at his own jokes, and it was a wry joke anyway. It was his version of some levity. the crowd did as expected.
"Listen kid. You got me up here"
Damn Ninjas cutting onions again ! >.
Ohhhh it's so sweet!! The 3 are 1, she'll never leave us! ❤❤❤
Mark hamill is such a legendary man
They’re actually inside the TARDIS - “look at the round things.” The roundals. ☺️
❤️ *Mark Hamill & Harrison Ford.*
I honestly expected one of those "you still like Star Wars? Move out of your parents basements" rants. Thanks for keeping it tucked in Harry
Force Yourself!
Awwww, how nice of him to mention Carrie. Quite forgiving of him, considering the picture she painted of their relationship during A New Hope in her book The Princess Diaries!
What a perfectly cast movie... Proof that lightning CAN be captured in a bottle. Congratulations Mr Hamill.
Still hard to believe they got these guys back for the Sequels and didn't have them in one single scene together. Wtf were they thinking.
Harrison Ford is literally Severus snape come to life 😂😂
I just love to see these 2 brilliant actors together again....
nerf herder.
:O
Who is scruffy-looking?
“Laugh it up fuzz ball”
Perfect. Lol
Moof Milker!
Harrison actually celebrating Star Wars? Never thought I’d see the day. This is also one of the first times that I’ve seen him seem at least interested in what he does
I still can’t believe we didn’t get to see them together again in the new trilogy
Wow. This is the longest I’ve seen HF being sincere. Let alone speaking on Star Wars. Very cool.
He didnt start with "Hey kids" Im dissapointed.
he hates star wars
These two together just makes me smile. They don't even have to speak.
RIP star wars, it was great while it lasted :) xx
Judas Goat Idiot.
Simon Dewitt
The last jedi was utter rubbish though
Star Wars is not dead! Jesus Christ you people are annoying as hell!
He's such a complicated, simple man.
Harrison: I'm really sorry we don't have the other member of our trio here.
Chewie: Raaaaaaaaaaaawwwwrrrrrrrr
Harrison... but I feel her presence.
Chewie: ror
I'm amazed it took that long for Mark Hamill to get a star on the walk of fame
The clapping after the mention of Carrie almost seems disrespectful. It was a somber moment in his speech and they celebrated. The look on Harrison’s face says it all.
Not really. You're looking for things
It's alright...
Even Mark clapped. there was nothing there lol
Clapping shows respect. People are clapping to show appreciation for carries mention in the speach.
part thinking it was a little joke moment n part taking it as a serious moment with that bit taken from the series afaic
I’m glad they brought Harrison /han back for that little scene in rise of skywalker
They guy is 70+ and he behaves like a kid LOVE THAT !!
Seeing these 2 together makes me happy
“You call him Dr. Jones, Doll!”
The way Mark looks at Harrison... makes me wish more than ever that Luke and Han got to reunite on screen in the Disney sequels.
a surprisingly emotional delivery from the stone cold star himself
Mark seems to look at Harrison as sort of a big brother. Inspired, & humbled when they're together because they basically grew up together in a way. I can see Harrison probably brought out the best in Mark, whether he knew it or not. I feel that, as a middle child.
The best thing about this is that it hasnt anything prepared..he just speaks about his good friend...also wtf when the crowd laught when Mr Harrison said that he feels Carrie's presence
Leia! They never forgot her!! Carrie Fisher hello to heaven! 🙂
Mark really deserved that Star.
I know Harrison has reacted to Marks impression of him, but I would love to see Mark do it in front of him. That would be hysterical!!!
In other words: "Don't get cocky kid!"
Fantastic to see support from old casting friends.
He may not like Star Wars but he likes his friends
They could use this speech at Mark's future funeral, and no one would know the difference...
Love Mark Hamill!!! Love Harrison Too!! One of Our Favorite movies of all time!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
