Hi Jody. I'm a little late on seeing this from your collection. I was curious to know something about the slide.
Does the slide have to be out all the way, for the bed to function?
Is the bed a jack knife style? So do you have any ball park dimensions on the bed? I can't seem to get concrete info.
I love the twin to king setup for the rear, and the single drop down in the cab. It's the slideout bed, that's not getting any press, lol.
Is there any small storage space behind it, when it's in couch mode?
I see a new short vid on Thor's slideout bed coming up, by Jodi... 🤔. Safe travels to you!

I’ve never pulled out my couch. I believe it unfolds out as opposed to being a jackknife although that differs with different years. I will say the slide comes in to even up with that wall (where the mirror is) and hallway, so even if you can fit it, you probably wouldn’t get around it. It is long enough to sleep on, as a couch, for someone under six foot. Hope that helps.

How do you like the Thor so far ? Is the reliability keeping up?

I’m really loving it. Just everything I need in an easy traveling unit. Some repairs: needed a new toilet as the lever fell off twice and there’s a leak in the grey tank line - on the schedule to get that fixed in a couple of weeks; a trim piece off and a couple of drawers I need to fix the glides on. But, overall, all things to be expected on a five-year old unit that shakes and rumbles down the road. Haha.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us !! Let us know how you do with the check engine light. Wondering...how do your cats like traveling ? We just got our Thor Vegas in late October ( we are from New England so she is "stored" for the winter) and plan on traveling with our cats in 2021. Any suggestions or tips ??

The Ford tech in Yuma said the check engine light was probably from my going down some steep grades near Cottonwood. It hasn't come back on since. My cats are actually doing great with traveling. I was worried as they are 13 years old and set in their ways. But they have always been indoor cats and after the first day, I haven't heard a peep from them when I'm driving. They also haven't got sick or acted up when I'm driving either. I do keep the bathroom door shut so they can't get up front but I don't know that would be a problem anyway. They usually just sleep on the bed. My favorite change for the cats is using the Tidy Cat Breeze system (learned it from I'm Not Lost I'm RVing). It leaves much less clumped litter waste and very little smell. It is more expensive but well worth it.

Glad to gear no major $$$$ involved and good to know it does that !!
Thanks for the info on the kitties.
We have 2 brothers and are look8ng forward to traveling with them 😊
It's always so hard to leave them behind when we go away....even if it's just a few days. I will look into tidy cat breeze system. Thanks again for your reply. Happy trails or should I say happy tails 🐾🐾is . 😃

Looks beautiful there, lots of open spaces for sure. How do you find traveling without having a car. Are you able to stop pretty much where you want because of the size of the motorhome? I'm wondering if you feel your journey would be improved if you had a car with you? I know you just started, but I'm curious. Do you have solar to boondock, or are the coach batteries? Sorry if I'm asking to many questions. lol

Not too many questions. I know just how you’re feeling. 😊 I bought this model mostly because of its smaller size. It is very easy to maneuver and park (just drove it through El Paso, to a national memorial, for example). I do love that I can just go. However, it would be nice not to have to unhook if I’m at an RV park. And a car would definitely be easier in bigger cities. I like that I have a choice with this RV. I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty that is flat towable so will probably bring it on some trips. (It can stay at my brother’s other times). I don’t have solar yet and since I do drive it everywhere (which charges the batteries), it hasn’t been a big issue. But three days at Quartzite without moving did mean using the generator to recharge so solar would be nice. I am definitely switching to lithium first.

I’m loving it. A few repairs here and there but nothing too big. 😊❤️
