  • This is the first of a set of videos about my Spring Break 2020 trip to Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. I rented a Thor Vegas 24.1 out of Oklahoma City (through RVShare) to test it out for the week.

    We have a Thor/Vegas 2017 25.2 with slideout bed in the back. We had many issues when we purchased new and spent almost a year back and forth to a Camping World in NH and finally gave in and started fixing things on our own that we could handle ourselves. This last spring we had to replace much of the floor as we had some water leak issues.
    We love the way it drives and my husband is fine with my help driving. When you first get the right RV get it to a garage or where you purchased it to have a front end allignment as Camping World didn't do one on ours. It handles on the road/throughway much better and no pulling to the right. It was a little scarey until that was done. We have driven to FL from VT once and hope to get out west and to Alaska when this Covid is over. We wish you good luck with yours.

      I purchase a 2016 Thor axis 25.2 brand new quality control at Thor was certainly an issue. They relied on the dealers to fix their problems and the dealers weren't too crazy about it . We purchase ours at Camping World however I have to say at that time they had a service manager that cared. And he fixed most of the major problems we had. The small stuff i did as it was just too far to take in for service. So sorry to hear about your floor . That really sucks I haven't heard of that one. When it gets right down to it we haven't really had any problems with ours at all. We've been from South Carolina to all over this country from Gulf Shores Alabama to Wyoming across Texas. This year thinking Arizona or Idaho. I'm retired but my wife still works so we have to base our vacation on her time she's getting close to retirement. I thing about the axis or Vegas you can cover a lot of ground .Those things can really move out. Definitely get the front end aligned we had ours done who made the biggest difference. We're closing in on 40000 miles we're heading for Hilton Head Island next weekend Motorcoach Resort excellent place to stay.

    • @nomehdrider
      @nomehdrider 2 года назад

      Sounds like a nightmare to deal with. I have heard not to deal with CW, would make a lot of sense as if you are going to make money on these things you can't get bogged down in fixing the factory shortcomings. I am taken aback by a floor replacement. Great insight, thank you.

    Hi Jody,
    I am really fascinated by this motor home! Does it require an upgraded drivers license to operate it? Also, what are operating costs like? What were your fuel costs? I am interested in things like fuel tank size, cost to fill up, and miles per gallon?
    Do you feel there is enough room for two medium size dogs?
    Thank you so much for making the video!

    Got 2016 axis will use it all the time the go anywhere RV you can literally take it anywhere you want not intimidating to anybody. If a UPS truck can get in there I can get in there with mine. Can't say that about all RVs .Drop down bed good for storage we just removed Mattress and we keep our things we might use every now and then. Also it's lockable so it works as a good safe place for valuables lock it up no one's getting in there.

      We have a larger motorhome. We are wanting to downsize. I am looking at these. The thing that worries me is not having leveling jacks. Do you find that you need them since this unit is not as long? Or do you have to use leveling blocks? thanks

    • @nautiquecowboynautiquecowb5317
      @nautiquecowboynautiquecowb5317 3 года назад +1

      @@rhondajohnson3987 really not too much trouble unless you're on a really unlevel lot. There's a company called Bigfoot that makes a leveling system if you inclined to go that way. Usually one or two leveling blocks is all it takes to bring it in level . We use ours all the time at least once a month seems like sometimes more than that.

    • @JodysJourney
      @JodysJourney  3 года назад

      @@rhondajohnson3987 I’ve used the blocks a couple of times but it’s also easy enough to move up or back a little to get level. I absolutely love mine so far. I travel alone and don’t have much trouble with putting down the blocks, getting back in and pulling up.

      If you haven't made the purchase yet you should checkout the Axis/Vegas 25.6 its only like a foot longer but you get the full wall slide, really opens it up.

    • @DK-bk1vq
      @DK-bk1vq 3 года назад

      @@kazansky22We test drove a 25.6, and you're right, the extra foot didn't make a difference.
      But we had it for a week, and after the third day, we found we couldn't go to bed without having to have the slide out. That got old really fast. But, I do understand, you have to pick what works for you.
      We took the 24.1, with the full-time bed. Now, we can pull over anywhere and snooze if we need to without a slide and setting up the bed. Works for me!
