"It's Alright" by mother mother is my favorite song not just by them but of any for a comfort vibe. Mother mother indeed has an intense and dramatic style but this song is pure comfort. Letting you know "it's alright, it's okay-" and "you're not a monster just a human and you've made a few mistakes" and "you're not a demon there's a reason you behave in that way" I HIGHLY RECOMMENT THIS SONG

Oh my god!! when I used to be obsessed with mother mother I loved that song so much. First time I considered a song to be a comfort song. I used to listen to it when I was at a low point in my life and the lyrics would always make me feel better.

Fun fact about Neil: he actually wrote a song for gravity falls! It ended up being cut due to issues with screen time, but it’s really good. Its called it’s gonna get weird, and i’d highly recommend looking it up if you’ve never heard it. Also based on your music taste I really think you’d like bearghost. They’re one of my favorite bands and they’re supposed to release a new album this summer.

My favourite band/artist that honestly just helped me survive the last year is Will Wood and the tapeworms.
It's kinda like lemon demon just maybe a little more...of everything. I just love the music and how it plays with words and musical instruments and melody. I can only recommend it.

"I gave her a lighter to do arson with" is a very funny thing to say. I was curious of weather or not we'd get my chemical romance, but I guess the name isn't that interesting to represent. I didn't really know the bands except for mother mother so I'll look into it. That's a great concept and a great execution as well, well done
My first thought for my chemical romance was some sort of mad scientist type character (hence the 'chemical') whose main goal in life is attempting to resurrect their dead lover. Idk if that even makes sense but it's an idea 🤷

I’m more of a lurker than a commenter, but if you do another one of these you should definitely do Ghost! They’re basically a melodic rock band and their stage presence is already quite artsy because of the masks they perform in, I’d love to see your take on their band name ‘literally’ 🖤

@@babesimmiloagreed! My favorite at the moment is Spillways. I don't have Bluetooth in my car so I would have to wait for something to come on when I was driving. The volume always went as high as I could handle when Spillways came on, and would belt out the song. Probably confused a few I-65 drivers for a while

I LOVE Mother Mother, first heard ‘Back to School’ in 2017 or 18 (around the time it came out) and have loved every song that’s come out since! Your art is always so wonderful. I was kind of expecting the other mother to be holding a pistol but I like the lighter as well
As an art and music fan I found this incredibly entertaining!! Also its cool to know that me and my fav RUclips artist have a similar taste in music, that made me very happy haha. If you do another vid like this I’d suggest Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, Cavetown and of course My Chemical Romance bc I feel like those would all be pretty easy/fun to interpret, also I just rlly like them lol
I loved this! Some suggestions for next time could be:
The Crane Wives (they're an indie folk band with lots of themes in the romance/trust department.)
Ratwyfe (I'm most familiar with their album Mushroom Melancholia)
The Living Tombstone (Definitely a name many are familiar with if they grew up on the internet, the most familiar songs done by them to me are the FNAF ones so you could likely lean into a creepier theming for a character based on them.)
The first one is really the only band, but this could be transformed into a series called, "turning musical artists into characters" or something like it.

I love little pistol from mother mother and I'm glad to see someone enjoys it. Mother mother has been my fave for the last 10 years (body and ghosting was my introduction) so I'm glad to see it come back in the way it has. And the duality of the femine back vocals and the male lead singer always gives me the 50s vibe for some reason, so at least you're not alone in that vibe.
My introduction to mother mother was their song Problems. It’s still one of my favorites, but I think I like Life the most because of the beginning of the song.

Yeah it's great, I noticed the trucks the moment that they were added to the sketch
Lemon demon is not underrated; they've just remained obscure until they resurfaced again. Sure, Cicierega may not be blasted on international radios (who wouldn't want that?) but at this point thanks to social media, he's pretty much everywhere. But yeah nah, he's pretty cool and I like the atmosphere.
Lemon demon and Mother Mother are some of my favorite bands! I think that you did really well!
I definitely recognize the Mother Mother album art, but the only one of these bands that I've actually listened to was Lemon Demon -- I've probably had Everybody Likes You on loop for an unhealthy length of time back in 2022 lol (aw man potter puppet pals that takes me back) I definitely want to take your offer on doing my own version of this with my favorite bands because Crystal Castles immediately popped to mind and I feel like there's a lot of fertile ground for that band name + the vibe of their music >:3

the machine by lemon demon is one of the main songs that made me want to go into stem, leading me to pursuing a degree in electrical engineering today!! lemon demon has been so important to me growing up and seeing you draw something for the band has me very happy!!!!
For the 1950's vibes you went for with Mother Mother, it actually fits into it because their song Born In a Flash mentions 1954 and '55-'56. Great execution as always!

I WAS SO HAPPY SEEING LEMON DEMON AND MOTHER MOTHER IN THE THUMBNAIL!!! Lemon Demon is my favourite artist of all time, Mother Mother is my second favourite though I'm currently listening to purely Lemon Demon atm.
Dinosaurchestra is my favourite album, and some of my favourite songs are Lemon Demon, Archaeopteryx, Aurora Borealis, and Atomic Copper Claw. There's at least one track per album I absolutely adore. I forgot which track was in 7/8 but wasn't the most recent release but I love that one too.
If anyone wanted to know the secret reference in the 100 gecs drawing, it was the Frog on the bottom of the drawing, which is a reference to one of 100 gecs songs literally called, "Frog on the floor" :)

If it wasn’t for me watching this video, I wouldn’t have listened to Lemon Demon. I was getting songs recommended to me but I never did listen to them, besides Modify, but after hearing a artist that inspires me *technically* recommend Lemon Demon was what made me cave in. However, I watched this 3 weeks ago, and I have been listening to Neil’s music everyday now. Only regret is not listening sooner.

Not a band, but Everybody's Worried About Owen will forever be my favorite "weird name" for anything music-related. Also the art is lovely as always, I especially like the Mother Mother one! :)

I absolutely ADORE this idea! It sounds like it was a very fun experiment. These artists you all listed really took me by the hair and slammed me into 2021. I remember I listened to these artists a lot but Lemon Demon was the artist I'd mainly listened to for most of that year. Speaking of which, I really loved the Lemon Demon drawing! I also liked the detail of the look of the inside of a lemon being what the inside of his mouth looked like!
I don’t really listen to these bands but these illustrations are so cool I aspire to have as recognisable of a style as you!

It's really cool to see you making more abstract and crazy stuff! Turning things into cute characters is nice and all but it makes a change to do something not so character focused. You really smashed the 100 gecks piece!
If you make a part 2 for this video and want any suggestions, I would really want to see your character for the band Crystal Castles. They made nice electronic\witchtrap music back during the early 2010s with a lot of them having a really cool vibe that holds up really well today(the band's history HOWEVER is a completely different story entirely). I turned their song Crimewave into an oc but it would be COOL to see you turn the band itself into a character. EDIT: Thanks for the likes!
