This is probably me just tossing my comment into the void but this album means so much to me. The themes of isolation I relate to so much. And the end message of Outside The Wall gives me the most hopeful happiness I've ever had from an album. I love the message that track says of time are going to get hard but you won't be able to get the help you need from the people who love you if you don't tear down the wall. It's a simple but powerful message. As much of an old fuck as I sound I wish people in this newer generation would sit down and experience this album and soak in the message. If anyone ever sees this thank you for reading this. I've never really had anyone to share my thoughts and feelings of the things I truly love so just knowing someone read my thoughts from my fucked up brain makes me happy. Have a good day or evening
If it brings any comfort, I’m 23 at the time, but back in high school, this album was beloved by my friend group and every couple months, we’d all gather at my place and watch this movie again. If we got a new person in our friend group, we saw that as the perfect excuse to watch it again and show them the movie. I think with the internet, it’s made Pink Floyd super accessible, even if it’s not as culturally popular as it used to be, it’s such a special album that I don’t think it’ll ever fade into obscurity. It leaves its mark on people and I don’t think it ever goes away
You don't have a fucked up brain, just an appreciation of great music. I don't know how old you are, but I am 62. Sabbath fan since 71 Genesis fan since 75 Tull fan since 75 Priest fan since 78 Saxon since 80. My all time favourite bands. I just bet I could give you 10 years, and you would still be younger than me. Hell 🔥 , even Noah is younger than me. I have always had a large appreciation for Pink Floyd. Amongst the many albums of them I have of them. Dark side of the Moon, Wish you were here. Meddle, Atom heart mother, Obscured by clouds .The wall Momentary lapse of reason are my favourites. Now don't come at me with a baseball bat. But just above these by a notch is Animals. There I go fucking up my street cred. The gen Z would not have the attention span necessary to listen to a full album, let alone appreciate it and it's message. Hell fire 🔥 they would not know the difference between drums, guitar 🎸 Bass and on and on Take care my friend.
Perhaps 100 years from now 15 year old children will listen to this for the first time and be as mesmerized as I was back in 1980. This is a work of art.
My daughter turns 12 in 4 days. Last week I shared Pink Floyd The Wall, the movie with her. She loved it. I told her,” this isn’t just music, this is art that tells a story “. She asked for the cd for her birthday. I gave it to her last night.
@@donaldreed3210 But thats exactly the point to this album. The shaming and the expectations of adhering to the Systems standards and brain washing all of us. I say keep up the Floyd !!!
52 and been listening to this since I found it at 12 years old. 40 years later and this never gets old. I was too young for the original Wall gigs but saw Roger doing it a couple of times Mindblowing.

Leave them kids alone! This whole album is iconic, therapeutic and beautiful. It’s timeless in a sad way. I’m grateful to have seen Waters live. Vote local comrades. 🫡♥️😎✌🏼
I was fortunate to see this concert live in Earls Court 1980. I took my son who is also a great Floyd fan and we were both blown away by the staging, music and general professionalism of the Band. I have never forgotten that night or the buzz we felt on the way back home to East Anglia. The wall being built and then finally destroyed was pure entertainment. I am 82 now and still can't get enough of Pink Floyd.
Oh man im jealous. I only feel like live concerts like floyds are the only ones worth watching and hearing. Look at the concerts nowadays and fuck they are nasty. No one feels music like they used to anymore
I am Weird and American and Black and Female and in my 40's and Single and Childless AND this MY favorite album and has been a beacon of hope, a voice to my soul and a force that grounds and connects me for over 30 years. THANK YOU!
Sorry to hear! My father and I talked about watching the movie together for years and never got to. He passed from throat cancer last year. Gonna through a party with my older friends and watch it in his name!
Im 14 listing to this incredible album in 2023. I cannot express how much I love this album, it has incredible music and lyrics, and I listen to it every day on the way to school. It helps me through bad times and make good ones even better. I will always love this album and this band.
hey good for you kid, never stop discovering new music (whether it's "old" and new to you, or fresh releases). you're going places with taste like this
I was about your age when I found this album and band and since then I have listened to a lot of their other albums. It's truly an amazing experience 🎉
This album changed my life when I was in 6th grade. My parents were WW2 babies in England. I sorta felt like this album helped me understand them and myself more. War is horrific and does intergenerational damage.
I remember first listening to Pink Floyd with this masterpiece of an album also in 6th grade. My dad described metaphor for the wall to me and when i asked what was on the other side he said "the real world". I would later learn that being trapped in my head can be scary but also living in my head in fantasy was also detrimental. Sometimes you got to break through the wall and find that there are interesting settings, wonderful adventures, and interesting characters, stuff that inspires dreams. Just one of the many interpretations of this album.
I live in Ukraine. There is a war going on here, on the same scale as the Second WW2, even more terrible. The Russians attacked my country. They kill everyone indiscriminately - men, women, children. They kill young and old. They torture and rape. They specifically destroy houses. They destroy entire cities, burn them to the ground. Even the Nazis didn't do it like the Russians do. It's terrible. It's scarier than you can even imagine.
Same here, grandparents WW2, their parents WW1, lived in a time without refrigerators, keeping every piece of string to use again later, making butter, cheese at home, drying meat, making jelly....without tv,family talking, playing mind games, they had nothing, our children have everything and are so ungrateful.
2 years before this álbum was released Nasa sent out a probe containing a comprised versión of the whole human culture to outer space, the aim was for any alien intelligence to catch it and find a way to decode it. There was music on it but rock wasnt considerad to feature
Run like Hell was the first song that ever mesmerized me. I had heard music before of course, but it didn't mean much. Then one night I was half asleep in the back of our family van and my step father put on this song. It was super late. Super dark. The motion of the van, staring out the sunroof at the stars. The Air conditioning was at a perfect level, just a bit cold with a light blanket. This song blew my mind. The sounds, the heartbeat, the synth. The voices and the footsteps. I realized in that few minutes what music meant to me. Because of Pink Floyd I have never had to do drugs or drink. I was already high.

Listened to The Wall album in 79 when it came out, put it on my stack system crancked up Comfortably Numb and felt right off my ed without any drugs or alcohol, and it’s still doing it tonight 31 Dec 2023. The only track by the only group that has ever done that to me, a masterpiece of an album, and timeless! ✌🏽🌎✊🏽💚
I graduated from high school in 1981 and this particular album defined my generation and how we felt about life. Forty years later, I still find solitude and answers to life's questions in this album.
Graduateed in 84 and didn't watch THE WALL till got to LSU when I really started smoking pot and it wasn't even good stuff back then. Quit smoking years ago but always tempted to burn one and watch this movie for the 700th time. We tried to watch it sober and lasted 10 minutes. lol
Love everything. But the trial is from another world. Edgy, up-to-date, provocative and fucking alone. Here we are, 42 years later. Been listening since I was ten. Still sparking new.
Man. My stepfather got me into Pink Floyd when i was 15 or something. He died from stomache Cancer. He always played this Album on the Stereo while he was smoking pot, it helped him to ease the pain. I only knew him for two years, but he taught me so much about life, about Life overall, I was pretty insecure back then. I miss him every day. My siblings and my Father always say that he was a broke Hippie loser, but he wasnt. I hope youre fine dude.
I’m 31 years old and grew up with Pink Floyd with my dad playing it all the time as a kid. We’d have little karaoke like sessions almost every night and Pink Floyd was what was played most of the time. This was when I was under 10 years old. I can play this album and it can lull me to sleep. It’s so relaxing. Mother and Comfortably Numb are my top favorites!
Same here. PF was part of my life growing up. Meddle sums up my life from the teens and on... And no one sings me lullaby’s. And no makes me close my eyes. And so I throw the windows wide... And call to you across the sky.
too bad they were barely a band, the last proper album and i dont care what the syd folks say, 2 different bands...and dont think they woulds made it in the us if syd didnt become the primary focus and influence on their writing...walters took it where he wanted, gave them the hits on Dark Side and they didnt need singles, though maybe one an album, he knew it was over and jumped ship before it became a circus. final cut wasnt a band album...and seeing waters solo, my first concert, was more an experience than the boring, bloated Gilmour Floyd ever was. Waters did his solo album, came back to the giant Wall and did a set of Floyd songs. im 50. got into punk (Country Teasers do a killer In The FlesH), but dont be a nostalgia dad and think music stopped being crucial when you stopped paying attention...its didnt stop, you did!
I have been listening to Pink Floyd for over 45 years, cant tell you how much there music has influenced me and changed my life for the better. These guys were way ahead of the times from when they began. Sid Barrett was way ahead of his time and was a masterful song writer which shaped Pink Floyd and made them what they became. Sid Barrett, Roger Waters, David Gilmore, Richard Wright and Nick Mason will live on for ever.
When u listen to young 20 something kids talk about "and then one day, 10yrs have got behind you" you GOTTA wonder HOW the fuck COULD THEY even comprehend that aspect of time having NOT LIVED long enough yet to understand. Lol
As a young man in the U.S. Military and finding myself in loneliness and emptiness so many times, Pink Floyd was my escape. The bond is still so very special and strong. More soul soothing music does not exist.
@Wokeland Motivation Did you know that if you take enough acid, you'll realize that everything you've ever experienced becomes one giant mass of synchronicity?
@@jeanlovephoto7572 that’s gonna be me soon. That’s me and my papa smoking weed listening to Pink Floyd and fishing and drinking a beer. Ye I miss those days. Time to make new days with Pink Floyd bro I’m listening to it right now. Always play Pink Floyd whenever I’m down. Break the wall. That’s what I’m trying to do. It’s a great great music learning master piece for us MEN THAT GO THROUGH SO MUCH.
I think this is one of the best albums made by any band in history. The underlying themes throughout the album are spot on to real-life issues, to the struggles that humanity contends with. The philosophical ideology on why humans break as a result of trauma are so incredibly accurate. This definitely has great music, and the overall storyline is what makes this so much more amazing!
@@lelanddthompsonlll8560 No not at all, I get that is what they are saying 100%. I’m not talking about the surface fact that Pink adds bricks to the wall for these reasons, but rather how this aligns so clearly with human nature even outside of things like the abuses of the British school system, etc.. my point is the more philosophical truths of how this relates to people who have major trauma in real life and also “Add bricks to their own wall.”
Listening with my 10 yea old daughter. It’s kids like my daughter that will carry the pink floyd torch into the next generation. Pink floyd is immortal.
My 17 year old daughter loves them nearly as much as I do, I've brought her up listening to, appreciating & loving real music. This album though, no words can ever describe how intensely fucking fantastic it is ❤️
I was 10 when it came out. I love so much music from the 60’s to today because my parents exposed me to great music growing up. My brother let his kids pick every song 100% of the time and I’d hear children’s music, then the wiggles, then Disney stars to the big generic artists today. It’s sad. It’s like their journey of music was just a pipe of capitalism and so generic. I wish my brother would have at least split the music 50/50 to get some exposure. Music just means so much to me that this bums me out kinda overboard😅
@@sephyrartcore9523 The Internet can play this for you too. But leave it to it’s own devices it’ll play whatever artist will make the streaming services the most money.
Last week, I introduced my 5 year old daughter to Dark Side of the Moon. This week, we're listening to the wall. I'm glad to bring this to a new generation as was done for me so many years ago.
My dad rocked me to sleep as a newborn to this album. He had no idea how to be a dad because his left. He gave this album to me at 16 for a Christmas present. I memorized the lyrics, now I'm a man and so much of it applies to me. People close to me trying desperately to tear down my walls as I build them higher. What man am i?
A human, John, 57 years old still got some bricks in that ole wall. Been there for 43 years, so no this Is not a bad thing dude. Listening now, just crank it, and screw everybody else.. Rock on:)
Your dad left you with all he had man .He didn't have anything else to give but you have this music forever . He missed out on you and for that I pity him . My dad left too and I never heard from him again until I was almost 30 with kids . Still didn't contribute a thing either but he died a drunk . I pity him too.
I bought this tape in 1983,and played it on my Walkmen until it shredded. Everytime one side ended flipped to other side. Love it,huge part of my highschool life.( Class of 84)
@@RadicalCaveman its not copyrighted though. he doesnt claim the album and states who owns it and who allowed it to be posted. it wouldnt be for copyright reasons. but like how the beatles took most of there songs off the internet mostly because they were releasing a remastered version of their albums. to prevent piracy.
The sad truth about this masterpiece album; Anyone can enjoy it. But only a broken person can have it truly speak to you in ways you can't put into words.
This album was one of my dad's favorites of all time, he passed away in 2016, every reply is like having the honor to have one more drink with him. Thank you for having this album up it means the absolute world to me.
There’s something ironic about this being my favourite album for so many years, so many hours spent listening to it from start to finish and thinking about the themes and tone, how loneliness is just as much a curse as it is a comfort. And you think how painful and long the days must be as the bricks pile up around him. Then one day you stop and look around at your doors and windows and you suddenly understand just how quickly those bricks pile up and surround you. It’s a funny feeling.
I first listened to this record in 1980 when I was 10. Much to young to really grasp the concepts explored. But after decades of listening to it at various stages of my own life, I've come to reallise we all have our own bricks to contend with.
I never got this album. To me it was always just 'OK', with a few great tracks. Now, years older, having experienced heartbreak, betrayal and isolation firsthand, it's finally connecting.
I was statationed in Bonames Germany with the 5/158th aviation regiment (north of Frankfurt) and was able to go to the Roger Waters Pink Floyd The Wall concert in West Berlin 1990. An experience I'll never forget. FYI I still have my ticket stub and concert tee shirt.
I'm actually 13 and I love this album, it's a masterpiece. I don't think there'll be something like this. I remember when I was young and my father made me listen to this and at first I didn't care, but now I love the band! I may say many thanks to my father.
This music actually came out like 2 years before I was born, so it was old and boring by the time I was entering my teenage years. I dunno, that's why I think it's timeless. This could've come out 200 years before I was born. It'll find its way all the same.

@Kyle Rittenhouse #1 fan Bitches Brew, Kind of Blue, A Love Supreme, What's Going On, Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks and even The Dark Side of the Moon are far better than this.
@Kyle Rittenhouse #1 fan You arbitrarily said that this album is the greatest of all time when such an statement is impossible to prove, since its an opinion. And when you receive a reply backed up by factual research and popular thoughts you say it's an opinion? Funny af
This album is not a collection of songs, it is a full immersive experience that is connected, tells a story and have context. No words can describe how perfect The Wall is and all of the feelings that it gives me and so many other people. It is amazing how much more effective each song feels when you listen them in the full album instead of separate pieces.

I'm currently at work and it's a tough day. This album reminds me of my father who passed away. I'm going to play it while I work to get me thru the Day. Dad can be at work with me 😍
I've been missing my mom alot she passed away 6 years ago. She had this vast collection of vinyls and she and I used to listen to them for hours as a kid. my dad yesterday dropped the whole collection off to me as a surprise. This 1979 version was among them still in great condition. it sounded so good.
I am old school having graduated in 1972. I am a pianist. I had been collecting albums all my life. I unfortunately married the wrong person and when he left, he took all my vinyls with him. I will never forgive him for that.
I have polaroids of myself at a year old in a mechanical swing with giant Sony earphones on falling asleep to this album. Am I messed up from it? No. It's just fantastic music. I can never grow tired of this record in particular. By far the greatest album of all time.
Dude straight up I grew up the album boneded by blood this one of those bands that will live forever people who can't understand really lost their marbles ig😅
This really is an incredible album. Really tells the story of basic life as we get older from just being a child. Going through life with all the craziness of what that brings daily, getting up every day to go to work and making our way through all the days crap just to wake up the next day to do it all over. While we wait for all the big problems that hit us that we cant see coming. War, divorce, cancer, death of friends. I can understand this much more being older now and going through divorce and death. It helps drinking or doing drugs to truly get the full meaning and understand the brilliance of it. Depressing, yes it is and gives you a front row seat of it while listening. The film really puts it in perspective if you cant figure it out by just listening. As much as I have listened to this through good times and bad, to thinking of suicide while listening to this through my divorce something in this powerful music makes you able to move on and give you strength.
I relate so much. Even though you're rich and famous, adored by everyone, the feeling of solitude and not be accepted or that feeling of being judged by everyone, stemming from childhood dramas. That wall we build blocking everyone and everything out. Only way to overcome it is by "tearing down the wall". Once we blast through that wall, just have to clean up the mess and move on. Hard as it is. Dont be afraid to seek help.
This is the kind of album that you know is the product of a tremendous amount of creative effort, collaboration, and arrangement. You can hear the talent and work put into it. No "one offs" here. Just great.
My dad too!! Lol I was 15, still at school & he used to stagger in drunk at 3am, open the windows of our tenement in Glasgow and blast it!!! I hated it then but as always, it grew on me? I bought him a Hifi stack system when I was 20 just so he could hear every note, comment and pin drop.. He's dead now but I still play it with him in mind and every now and again, i tuirn the volume UP!!!!.. RIGHT UP!!! 😉👍
If I were to be stranded on a deserted island and I could only take one album with me, this would be it! The depth and eloquence of each track still amazes me. The Wall is a true masterpiece and has impacted my life deeply.
the fact that this is the most relatable and deep album to me at the age of 19. all the dark emotions I have ever experienced are channeled throughout the wall. when you have sunk to the lowest point there is... which others have brought up themselves in the comments... there is no better album than the wall. there is no real happiness or any attempt of reassurance in this album at all, it even ends with “isn’t this where..” which connects the first line “…we came in?” to me which signifies that the themes and emotions touched upon never truly end. yet it somehow makes me feel reassured anyway. depression, drug addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, fear of abandonment, childhood trauma... I don't want to say the wall makes me feel better knowing i am not the only one, the album just feels like ME, and I think that’s what’s reassuring.
Can I just say I am 38 years young and grew up listening to techno rap and all the rest of the noise out there that is just bla bla bla then found this 3weeks ago on Netflix and was totally blown away to see the full concert and meeting to the album just amazing love it . I always new it was out there but never gave it the time of day and how this would have changed me as a person if I only listend I wod have been a different person in everyway
It’s never too late to discover the classics and why they’ve stood the test of time and will continue to do so. I would recommend checking out Led Zeppelin and their movie “The Song Remains The Same”, Black Sabbath, Yes, and even Hawkwind
To be honest, I rarely listen to this album. I'm more of a Wish You Were Here and Animals kind of guy, but as a concept album, there are few that rival it. It's also more of a theatrical piece than simply separate songs played for mere enjoyment, basically an album that has to be listened all the way through for it to work well for the listener. But what more can you say about the genius and angst of Rodger. Simply spectacular.
Agreed on Animals, probably the most underrated album from them and it's still a toss-up as to whether I like Meddle or Animals as my personal favorite.
It's not just Waters, Gilmore was a major contributing force, I was actually surprised to find out that Waters was the vocalist for The Trial because the vocal style sounded so much like Gilmore's unhinged energy that he can provide at times.
This is easily one of my most favorite albums of all time, but it absolutely broke me. I haven't had an album resonate so much with the depression and isolation I feel from my past experiences. It snapped me out of a phase in my life where I was both a workaholic and drinking way too much. It became apparent I couldn't ignore what I was feeling and had to go to therapy. Nowadays I listen to it and still go back to that vulnerable space. It's hard to have anything else compare to what I feel when I listen to this.
I found a number of activities that have once and for all shielded me from those dark figurines, including activities I am passionate about (e.g., working in an area that challenges my intellectual ability to the extent that I feel I am in a daily mission; having a chunk of land to plant and prune my fruit trees... it's super-rewarding and keeps one's mind busy).
Easter egg: "INFINITE LOOP" If you listen to the last few seconds you will hear.. "ISN'T THIS WHERE...." And again the first few seconds you hear ".... WE CAME IN" THEREFORE MAKING THE ALBUM AN INFINITE LOOP ALBUM!!!
Most records are 80 percent fluff, but the wall is 100 percent genius. At thirty six now, I've been listening to this album start to finish for twenty six years. The feelings this album conveys are beyond words! At this time in 2022 the album hits on more levels than ever before. "Together we stand divided we fall." ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Álbum magistral como todo lo que ha hecho Pink Floyd Tengo sesenta y cinco años y padezco trastorno bipolar y esta música es lo que más me relaja. ! Gracias Pink Floyd!
It always hits me so deep how well Pink Floyd's albums loop. It makes me wonder why. For The Wall, I think it's trying to illustrate how the traumas Roger Waters is talking about on the album are iterative, they keep happening over and over down the generations.
It's like a seeing a deja vu when the same rhythms are heard again. This is my first time listening to the full album and probably the best time I listened to it.
Epic amazing masterpiece! I had this on cassette back in the early 80's. It was my savior when I got grounded to my bedroom for 3 weeks. If I wasn't at school, in my room I went. Thank fuck for this album. I listened to it all through my waking hours, staring at the walls. Years later, just after I graduated high school, I was getting ready to go out with friends. I had just dropped a hit of acid, ready for a fun night out. Shame on us for not checking the weather... big snow storm. Everyone bailed. I was totally tripping, stuck at home alone, so I put on The Wall movie. I watched it 3x that night, clinging to the corner of the couch through much of it, especially when he was being dragged out of the hotel, face turning to maggots. Yes, me and The Wall sure have some memories. I abandoned it for the next couple decades but am listening to it again as a mature, responsible adult who appreciates life, stories and no bullshit.
I'm pretty sure I spent the entirety of 1995 in a room with 6 bean bags, a lava lamp, a stereo, and a fluctuating crowd of people listening to this on repeat in the dark.
In throughout most of 2014-2019, I’d invite my friends, old and new, over and we’d watch this movie so many times throughout the years. Then at school we’d talk about it, and sometimes argue over the themes lol. We had no idea what we were talking about but it’s nice that we haven’t been destroyed by nukes yet so that newer generations can enjoy pink floyd in dark rooms with friends haha
My first hearing of this album when I was about 12-13 was a life-changing experience. I was going through some rough times, and someone got it. They really, truly understood. The metaphor hit home - I had been starting to build my own wall.

I hear you bro, every word.
After reading your comment I came to the conclusion your brain is probably less fucked up than you might think of it. 👍

Amongst the many albums of them I have of them. Dark side of the Moon, Wish you were here. Meddle,
Atom heart mother, Obscured by clouds .The wall Momentary lapse of reason are my favourites.
Now don't come at me with a baseball bat.
But just above these by a notch is Animals.

@@patrick4510 the wall by Pink Floyd
And now noone realy stoping Russia from destroying Ukraine

Imagine the two together tho!

Dragging behind you the silent reproach
Of a million tear-stained eyes
Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice
Appears under your feet.
You slip out of your depth and out of your mind
With your fear flowing out behind you
As you claw the thin ice.
*_3 - Another Brick in the Wall part 1_*
Daddy's flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
A snapshot in the family album
Daddy, what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, whatcha leave behind for me?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall
*_4 - The Happiest Days of our Lives_*
When we grew up and went to school
There were certain teachers who would
Hurt the children any way they could
By pouring their derision
Upon anything we did
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids
But in the town it was well known
When they got home at night, their fat and
Psycopathic wives would thrash them
Within inches of their lives
*_5 - Another Brick in the Wall part 2_*
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher, leave them kids alone
Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone
All in all, it's just another brick in the wall
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers, leave them kids alone
Hey, teacher, leave us kids alone
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall
If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?
You! Yes, you behind the bike stands
Stand still, laddy!
*_6 - Mother_*
Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they'll like the song
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall
Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time
Hush now baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your
Nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here
Under her wing
She won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama will keep baby cosy and warm
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall
Mother do think she's good enough for me
Mother do think she's dangerous to me
Mother will she tear your little boy apart
Oooh aah, mother will she break my heart
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girl friends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you come in
Mama will always find out where
You've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
You'll always be a baby to me
Mother, did it need to be so high?
*_7 - Goodbye Blue Sky_*
Look mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky
Ooh
Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the
Promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue
Sky?
Ooh
Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
The flames are all long gone, but the pain lingers on
Goodbye, blue sky
Goodbye, blue sky
Goodbye
Goodbye

I am just a new boy
Stranger in this town
Where are all the good times?
Who's gonna show this stranger around?
Ooh, I need a dirty woman
Ooh, I need a dirty girl
Will some woman in this desert land
Make me feel like a real man?
Take this rock and roll refugee
Ooh, baby set me free
Ooh, I need a dirty woman
Ooh, I need a dirty girl
Ooh, I need a dirty woman
Ooh, I need a dirty girl
Hello?
Yes, a collect call for Mrs. Floyd from Mister Floyd
Will you accept the charges from United States?
Oh, he hung up, that's your residence, right? I wonder why he hung up?
Is there supposed to be someone else there besides your wife there to answer?
Hello?
This is United States calling, are we reaching
See he keeps hanging up, and it's a man answering
*_10 - One of my Turns_*
"Oh my God! What a fabulous room! Are all these your guitars?"
("I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to startle you")
"This place is bigger than our apartment!"
("Let me know when you're entering a room")
"Uh, can I get a drink of water?"
("I was wondering about")
"You want some, huh?"
("Yes")
"Oh wow, look at this tub, do you wanna take a bath?"
("I'll have to find out from Mrs. Bancroft what time she wants to meet us, for her main")
"What are you watching?"
("If you just let me know as soon as you can Mrs. Bancroft... Mrs. Bancroft")
"Hello?"
("I don't understand")
"Are you feeling okay?"
Day after day, love turns grey
Like the skin of a dying man
And night after night, we pretend it's all right
But I have grown older
And you have grown colder
And nothing is very much fun anymore
But I can feel one of my turns coming on
I feel, cold as a razor blade
Tight as a tourniquet
Dry as a funeral drum
Run to the bedroom
In the suitcase on the left you'll find my favourite axe
Don't look so frightened, this is just a passing phase
One of my bad days
Would you like to watch TV?
Or get between the sheets?
Or contemplate the silent freeway?
Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly? Would you?
Would you like to see me try?
Oh, no
Would you like to call the cops?
Do you think it's time I stopped?
Why are you running away?
*_11 - Don't Leave me Now_*
Ooh, babe
Don't leave me now
Don't say it's the end of the road
Remember the flowers I sent
I need you, babe
To put through the shredder in front of my friends
Oh, babe
Don't leave me now
How could you go?
When you know how I need you
(Need you, need you, need you, need you, need you, need you)
To beat to a pulp on a Saturday night
Oh, babe
Don't leave me now
How can you treat me this way?
Running away
Ooh, babe
Why are you running away?
Ooh, babe
Ooh, babe
Ooh, babe
*_12 - Another Brick in the Wall part 3_*
I don't need no arms around me
And I don't need no drugs to calm me
I have seen the writing on the wall
Don't think I need anything at all
No, don't think I'll need anything at all
All in all, it was all just bricks in the wall
All in all, you were all just bricks in the wall
*_13 - Goodbye Cruel World_*
Goodbye cruel world
I'm leaving you today
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye all you people
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind
Goodbye
*_14 - Hey You_*
Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old
Can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles
Can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light
Don't give in without a fight
Hey you out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me?
Hey you with you ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home
But it was only fantasy
The wall was too high
As you can see
No matter how he tried
He could not break free
And the worms ate into his brain
Hey you, out there on the road
Always doing what you're told
Can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall
Breaking bottles in the hall
Can you help me?
Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall
*_15 - Is There Anybody Out There?_*

"Isn't it unsafe to travel at night?"
"It'll be a lot less safe to stay here, your father's gunna pick up our trail before long"
"Can Loca ride?"
"Yeah, I can ride, Margaret, time to go! Margaret, thank you for everything"
"Goodbye Chenga"
"Goodbye miss"
"I'll be back"
Is there anybody out there?

*_16 - Nobody Home_*
"But there's somebody else that needs taking care of in Washington..."
"Who's that?"
"Rose Pilchitt!"
"Rose Pilchitt? Who's that?"
* Kid screams *
(Shut up!)
"36-24-36 * laughs * does that answer your question?"
(Oi! I got a little black book with my poems in!)
"Who's she?"
"She was 'Miss Armoured Division' in 1961..."
I've got a little black book with my poems in
I've got a bag with a toothbrush and a comb in
When I'm a good dog they sometimes throw me a bone in
I got elastic bands keeping my shoes on
Got those swollen hand blues.
Got thirteen channels of shit on the TV to choose from
I've got electric light
And I've got second sight
I've got amazing powers of observation
And that is how I know
When I try to get through
On the telephone to you
There'll be nobody home
I've got the obligatory Hendrix perm
And I've got the inevitable pinhole burns
All down the front of my favorite satin shirt
I've got nicotine stains on my fingers
I've got a silver spoon on a chain
I've got a grand piano to prop up my mortal remains
I've got wild staring eyes
I've got a strong urge to fly
But I've got nowhere to fly to
Ooooh Babe when I pick up the phone
There's still nobody home
I've got a pair of Gohills boots
And I've got fading roots
*_17 - Vera_*
"Where the hell are you?"
"Where the hell are you, Simon?"
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you
Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do?
*_18 - Bring the Boys Back Home_*
Bring the boys back home
Bring the boys back home
Don't leave the children on their own, no, no
Bring the boys back home
"Wrong, do it again"
"Time to go"
"Are you feeling okay?"
"There's a man answering, but he keeps hanging up"
Is there anybody out there?
*_19 - Comfortably Numb_*
Come on (come on, come on) now
I hear you're feeling down
Well, I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax (relax, relax, relax)
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child, I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
I have become comfortably numb
Okay (okay, okay, okay)
Just a little pinprick
There'll be no more
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up? (Stand up, stand up)
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on, it's time to go
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look, but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
And I have become
Comfortably numb
*_20 - The Show Must Go On_*
Ooh, ooh-hoo, ooh, ooh

(Ah-ah)
(Ooh-ma, ah, ooh-pa) Must the show go on?
(Ooh-pa, take me home, take me home, take me home)
(Ooh-ma, let me go, let me go, let me go)
There must be some mistake, I didn't mean to let them
Take away my soul, am I too old, is it too late?
(Ooh-ma, ooh-pa) Where has the feeling gone?
(Ooh-ma, ooh-pa) Will I remember the song?
The show must go on
*_21 - In the Flesh (Reprise)_*
So ya thought ya might like to
Go to the show
To feel the warm thrill of confusion
That space cadet glow
I've got some bad news for you, sunshine
Pink isn't well, he stayed back at the hotel
And they sent us along as a surrogate band
And we're going to find out where you fans really stand
Are there any queers in the theatre tonight?
Get 'em up against the wall (against the wall)
Now that one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me
Get him up against the wall (against the)
That one looks jewish
And that one's a coon
Who let all this riff-raff into the room?
There's one smoking a joint
And another with spots
If I had my way I'd have all of you shot
*_22 - Run Like Hell_*
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
You better make your face up in
Your favorite disguise
With your button down lips and your
Roller blind eyes
With your empty smile
And your hungry heart
Feel the bile rising from your guilty past
With your nerves in tatters
When the conch shell shatters
And the hammers batter
Down your door
You'd better run
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
You better run all day
And run all night
Keep your dirty feelings
Deep inside
And if you're taking your girlfriend
Out tonight
You'd better park the car
Well out of sight
'Cause if they catch you in the back seat
Trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you back to mother
In a cardboard box
You better run
"Hey, open up!"
"Hammer, hammer"
*_23 - Waiting for the Worms_*
Eins, zwei, drei, alle! 1
Ooooh You cannot reach me now
Ooooh No matter how you try
Goodbye cruel world it's over
Walk on by
Sitting in a bunker here behind my wall
Waiting for the worms to come (Worms to come)
In perfect isolation here behind my wall
Waiting for the worms to come (Worms to come)
Will the Audience convene at one fifteen, outside Brixton town hall, where we will be going... 1
Waiting to cut out the deadwood
Waiting to clean up the city
Waiting to follow the worms
Waiting to put on a black shirt
Waiting to weed out the weaklings
Waiting to smash in their windows
And kick in their doors
Waiting for the final solution
To strengthen the strain
Waiting to follow the worms
Waiting to turn on the showers
And fire the ovens
Waiting for the queers and the coons
And the reds and the Jews
Waiting to follow the worms
Would you like to see Britannia
Rule again my friend
All you have to do is follow the worms
Would you like to send our coloured cousins
Home again my friend
All you need to do is follow the worms.
The Worms will convene outside Brixton Town Hall.
We'll be moving along at about 12 o'clock down Stockwell Road
{? and then we'll cross at?} {Abbot's Road}
And we'll be covering some distance, twelve minutes to three we'll be moving along Lambeth Road towards Vauxhall Bridge.
Now when we get to the other side of Vauxhall Bridge we're in Westminster {Borough } area.
It's quite possible we may encounter some Jew boys and from now on {? we've got to be careful?} by the way we go.
At eighteen after midday, {? we'll all be at Hyde Park! and there we'll continue?...}
Hammer, hammer...
*_24 - Stop_*
Stop
I wanna go home
Take off this uniform
And leave the show
And I'm waiting here in this cell
Because I have to know
Have I been guilty all this time?
*_25 - The Trial_*
[Prosecutor]
Good morning, Worm, your honor!
The crown will plainly show
The prisoner who now stands before you
Was caught red-handed showing feelings
Showing feelings of an almost human nature
This will not do
Call the schoolmaster!
[Schoolmaster]
I always said he'd come to no good in the end, your honor
If they'd let me have my way I could have flayed him into shape
But my hands were tied
The bleeding hearts and artists
Let him get away with murder
Let me hammer him today
[Pink]
Crazy, toys in the attic
I am crazy, truly gone fishing
They must have taken my marbles away
[Crowd]
(Crazy, toys in the attic, he is crazy)
[Wife]
You little shit, you're in it now
I hope they throw away the key
You should have talked to me more often than you did, but no!
You had to go your own way
Have you broken any homes up lately?
Just five minutes, Worm, your honor
Him and me, alone
[Mother]
Babe!
Come to mother, baby, let me hold you in my arms
M'lud, I never wanted him to get in any trouble
Why'd he ever have to leave me?
Worm, your honour
Let me take him home
[Pink]
Crazy, over the rainbow
I am crazy, bars in the window
There must have been a door there in the wall
When I came in
[Crowd]
(Crazy, over the rainbow, he is crazy)
[Judge]
The evidence before the court is incontrovertible
There's no need for the jury to retire
In all my years of judging, I have never heard before
Of someone more deserving of the full penalty of law
The way you made them suffer, your exquisite wife and mother
Fills me with the urge to defecate!
(Come on, judge, shit on him!)
Since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fear
I sentence you to be exposed before your peers
Tear down the wall!
[Crowd]
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
(Tear down the wall!)
*_26 - Outside the Wall_*
All alone or in twos
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall
Some hand in hand
And some gather together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall
*_(Isn't this where..._*
I never noticed the "Isn't this where we came in?" before... Strangely chilling...

Exactly yes
I'm 23 years old raised on Pink Floyd, and I always say they hold the answers to any question you may have. Just need to listen :)
I finished school at 1983. At first pink floyd listen in 1985. Hi killed my mind)))))) forever))) sorry for my English
Graduateed in 84 and didn't watch THE WALL till got to LSU when I really started smoking pot and it wasn't even good stuff back then. Quit smoking years ago but always tempted to burn one and watch this movie for the 700th time. We tried to watch it sober and lasted 10 minutes. lol

Cancer patient here. I like listening to Pink Floyd The Wall's full album...
Hope your better soon .
Godbless❤
Hope u still with us brother sending positive vibes
I seen what cancer does. Hopefully you can get rid of it and I wish you the best.

The best album ever made. Roger and other Floyds are such a geniuses
too bad they were barely a band, the last proper album and i dont care what the syd folks say, 2 different bands...and dont think they woulds made it in the us if syd didnt become the primary focus and influence on their writing...walters took it where he wanted, gave them the hits on Dark Side and they didnt need singles, though maybe one an album, he knew it was over and jumped ship before it became a circus. final cut wasnt a band album...and seeing waters solo, my first concert, was more an experience than the boring, bloated Gilmour Floyd ever was. Waters did his solo album, came back to the giant Wall and did a set of Floyd songs. im 50. got into punk (Country Teasers do a killer In The FlesH), but dont be a nostalgia dad and think music stopped being crucial when you stopped paying attention...its didnt stop, you did!
they shoulda folded up shop after the Final Cut.
@@DaveAnchovies I'm sure they give two shits what you think.
I agree, best album of all time!
I think Roger is better with lyrics and showmanship, but David and Richard are way better musically
Sid Barrett, Roger Waters, David Gilmore, Richard Wright and Nick Mason will live on for ever.
same here brother

it truly is the number one album
I agree, but Dark Side and Animals, and Wish you were here are great as well
1 was around that same age and year
Me too, this album came out the day after I did
As a young man in the U.S. Military and finding myself in loneliness and emptiness so many times, Pink Floyd was my escape. The bond is still so very special and strong. More soul soothing music does not exist.

No, Internet will carry the music into next generations.
Ava you are 100% correct they are immortal!!!!!!!!

My dad rocked me to sleep as a newborn to this album. He had no idea how to be a dad because his left. He gave this album to me at 16 for a Christmas present. The sad truth about this masterpiece album;
Anyone can enjoy it. But only a broken person can have it truly speak to you in ways you can't put into words.
I totally agree with that. It's another dimension.
I can confirm this to be true.
I wouldn't go so far as broken, we may have deep bruises and wounds, but the album can help us heal. Truly one of the greatest albums

I can buzz like a killer hornet for a minute: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Cheers to that celebration!

100% Agree . Though all there albums , including the barrett albums are incredible.
You must've had great parents!!
As much as I have listened to this through good times and bad, to thinking of suicide while listening to this through my divorce something in this powerful music makes you able to move on and give you strength.
stay strong brother

Well said. I'm in my 70's, and I can't think of anyone's musical talent that grabs me in this way.
Finally, someone who gets it like I do 😊
This is the kind of album that you know is the product of a tremendous amount of creative effort, collaboration, and arrangement. You can hear the talent and work put into it. No "one offs" here. Just great.
Agreed, would like to find more albums of this talented degree if anyone has any suggestions.

the fact that this is the most relatable and deep album to me at the age of 19. all the dark emotions I have ever experienced are channeled throughout the wall. when you have sunk to the lowest point there is... which others have brought up themselves in the comments... there is no better album than the wall. there is no real happiness or any attempt of reassurance in this album at all, it even ends with “isn’t this where..” which connects the first line “…we came in?” to me which signifies that the themes and emotions touched upon never truly end. yet it somehow makes me feel reassured anyway. depression, drug addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, fear of abandonment, childhood trauma... I don't want to say the wall makes me feel better knowing i am not the only one, the album just feels like ME, and I think that’s what’s reassuring.
When I first listened to this album (18 years old) I felt the same emotions you described. At times I still do. This album is reassuring to me as well

It's hard to have anything else compare to what I feel when I listen to this.
i'm with you, though i have to come back for a more elaborate reply …
im in that space rn yo, im happy you got out of it. makes me confident i can. just trying to hang on till i find my reason to stay
