so im french, and gotta say, shakira's french pronunciation is pretty much perfect for some words that would be considered difficult. im impressed
I discovered that she is a great polyglot, just by watching this video.
No esperábamos menos de la queen
I wished my French was a good as hers, or as good as your English.....Salut!
Shakira is impressively talented and so intelligent!
Whe she pronounces guerre and toute...the last e is something like oe and shakira says E. That is the only mistake she makes when singing it.
Shakira has such a unique vocal sound and and style, and I really like it! You always know it's her as soon as she opens her mouth. She's also a whip smart, multilingual, educated and classy lady, and I admire her for it.
💛
@@BethRoars SEMPAI NOTICED ME!!! *keels over with a nosebleed*
I appreciate this honest and open minded reaction. Her voice is influenced by her ethnic background and languages and you got that. Another female vocal coach on RUclips was brutal.
I was engaged to a french guy and that was gonna be our wedding song :) things didn’t work between us but I still adore this cover of the song, she made it super special singing it in both languages :)
Girl!! You should react to the old underground Shakira! Her mtv unplugged it's SO good! She was so original back then,, she did this kind of robbotic style to the song "estoy aquí" the MTV unplugged version, watch it please ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Her song Moscas en la Casa is amazing. Her English music isn't as good.
@@yourmum727 Oh yeah I only like "Moscas en la casa" from her.
Her "Laundry service" album. I allways liked it, the first i owned.
Hi, loved the review Shakira is one of my favorite artist. Not sure if this was mentioned before, but the Arabic influence in her music and singing comes from her father. He is Lebanese, and a huge influence in her life and art.
Loved this reaction, please react to "La Pared” by Shakira
Yup, from the oral fixation tour.
She sings horrible
@@koKOriBLAck Well, fuck you!
@@koKOriBLAck envidia, no se decirlo en inglés :v
@@koKOriBLAck Yes! ella canta bien horrible, parece que esta vendiendo tomates y papas en el mercado, Gracias a Dios alguien piensa como yo !
Wow 👀🤘 I'm impressed at how fast you caught she's singing in Spanish and not french . Very impressive
Thanks x
The first half is a Spanish translation of a French song by Francis Cabrel and she also made it more latin in music style, the second part is much closer to the original song and in French.
💛
I love how she says Twitter, that accent is adorable.
Thanks x
Shakira is Lebanese and Colombian so she speaks and sings in both Arabic and Spanish. Her style is unique and people have made fun of her voice for ages. im glad to hear a vocal teacher praise her vocal style!
SHAKIRA ES SOLO COLOMBIANA ELLA NO ES LIBANESA LOS LOBANESES SON SUS BISABUELOS... SHAKIRA ES COLOMBIANA !!
Please react to Ciega, Sordomuda from Shakira MTV Unplugged. It's fantastic.
Thanks for the suggestion x
Yes do this one please and next
Selena Quintanilla - Como la flor (live from astrodome)
Yessss the mariachi version!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🤩
@@BethRoars have you listened to te espero sentada vivo en México from shakira? She uses a lot of very high tones!
Vivo tour pies descalzos 1997 mexico
Shakira is amazing, I think most people don't like her voice is because her first language is not English and people tend to hate her accent when she sings, it's kinda sad. For me, I truly admire her for it. It must have been hard for her to make this transition.
I think she is quite marmite. Very unique. You either love or you hate it. x
@bertasu she really is, you need to watch her live performances, I dont think you understand how hard it must have been to transition to English, but I respect you're opinion, but do more research on her.

The original song is from a french singer called Francis Cabrel. Weird to hear Shakira sing that, to be honest, but I gotta admit I liked her performance.
Cabrel still does it best ;) And I agree with "weird"
:D There's a salsa version of this song that should be superweird for you then :D
En Latinoamérica se hizo muy popular la versión en español cantada por el mismo Francis Cabrel en los 80's
Francis said this versión was great. He approved it
This version was #1 in France for 11 weeks, so the French approved
i would like more Shakira's reactions please
I looove that roar on your intro it's sooo cute 😍😍😍❤🔥
Rawr! x
Finally you get to Shakira ;) love your reactions!
Thank you! x
I love Shakira too!!!! 😍😍😍😘😎
💛
It's funny you mention Alanis Morissette, because Shakira's first album was her channeling her inner Alanis in Spanish.
😍💙 my queen love Shakira
Just found this video!
I love it; you’re insights into this unique singer are very enlightening.
Thank you! Looking forward to more Shakira reactions and others!
I follow Sakira-s SINCE SINCE she started in México, she is an icon of music here, regards frin México.
Weirdly, she always reminded me of Dolores from Cranberries in the way she flips up on her yodels
I agree, and like Beth Roars said, the technique also reminds me of Alanis Morissette
Because she’s a big big fan if Cranberries and Alanis styles
When I had 10yo I thought the songs Dream and Ode to my Family was composed and sang by Shakira. I didn't know those songs were from Dolores O'Riordan in those days. My dad played The Cranberries in the car when I was a child, in that time I only knew Shakira's music. Both singers have a similar voice.
That's exactly where she got it from. She's a HUGE Cranberries fan.
Hey! Here is my reaction to The Cranberries: ruclips.net/video/ZXlD8IkxO6Q/видео.html
Shakira always gonna reminds me when I was teen let's just say 20 years ago, she was arriving her 20's. All Latin America and was heating with her music. It's really nice your reacts On her song. I'm Costa Rica. Send you kisses. :)
Totally love Shakira....
💛
You continue to shine with your knowledge and how easily you get your audience to understand what makes them, them. Cudos!
So excited for my lesson this Tuesday!!!!!
💛
So curious you mentioned of the problems she had with her voice. And on interviews she talks about “my 18-year-old “or “my 25-year-old voice”. I have been her fan since 1995, and I guess her singing style changed a lot. Maybe if you watch the “inevitable” in her mtv unplugged concert back in 1999, you may see that.
I loooove watching your videos. You are so knowledgeable and charismatic. Keep up the good work :)
💛
I also enjoy how positive you are. You always find something nice to say about people. I really like to hear your opinion and analysis of singers :)
Always so informative and detailed reaction :)
Thank you x
Love it!!
Dead Can Dance - Host of Seraphim (live) -- some A+ content right there.
Thanks for the suggestion x
*Beth Roars*
Very good reaction, very professional all the explanation.
This original song is a french song. The singer is Francis Cabrel. It's a cover by Shakira of this Song "Je l'aime à mourir" I love her to death.
OMG you are amazing!!!! Love you greetings from Colombia!
This is so emotional
Amazing! ⭐️
Thanks! 😄
Creo que tiene mejores interpretaciones, ojalá y pudieras analizar otras. Ella es muy versátil. ❤️
React to Shakira - Antología please. I bet you’ll enjoy it
Thanks for the suggestion x
She is for far a singer that a heard so often but I recognize she has huge talent
Wow, great reaction, thanks.
Thank you x
🥰 thank you for making that Alanis morrisette connection 🙃 I always thought the same
:)
If I remember well, it was a true surprise that she had put a part of french in the song as she was able to perform it entirely in spanish... but she put the crowd on her side, singing the french part in front of french people in France. A true present french crowd welcome rightly. Thanks for the reaction... The difficulty of the french language is that many consideres wrongly it as a total latin language. France is a country which has known so much invasions, occupations, and mixing, it was a crossroad between west and east, North and south in Europe. It's the alone latin language where voyels can combine in so many ways to make far different sounds... e+a+u = o, a+u=o but stronger than the preview one... a+i= è... etc... also the combination of voyel and consons etc... In all other latin languages, you have to pronounce almost all the letters, not in french, it exists "hidden" letters... also, in french, the tone you use, the gesture, the attitude, the place of the words in a sentence, all that can change the meaning... From a frenchman point of view, I may be wrong, but I have the experience to have lived out of france (4-5 years in germany, 6 months in indian ocean... travelled all around the world in about 20+ countries)... I base then my opinion on my experience.
Marina(former Marina and the diamonds) also had nodules, and was advised to go through a surgery, which she says was no option for her, then she came across a book from an author unfolds many insights, hints and research on the importance of breathing and the impact it has on our health. She then contacted the author of the book, they met and then started off a journey towards healing her voice through awareness and changing of habits concerning breathing. Marina says the nodules were gone, and she no longer needed a surgery.
i've read that she had a lot of influence by Alanis Morrisette before she came to the US. her Pies Descalzos (sp) album has a lot of it.
@Ruben Gloria People think she started out in her English era smh 🙄
Shakira queen
very good video! and excellent reaction. 👍

That was beautiful! Francis Cabrel writes the most beautiful love songs, legendary lyrics, hes a monument in the french speaking world. You def should review some of his stuff (with english sub so ppl can appreciate i guess?)
As for Shakira's current voice condition and what caused it, i think we should ask her hips: i recall having overheard somewhere that they dont lie
Ha!
I feel like a lot of people has told you this, but you look like a young Amy Adams
Love it! Please do more videos of her I'd love to see your reaction of "La Pared - live from the oral fixation tour"
♥️
She does well for the parts sung in French, the intonations are interesting.
The original lyric is about a man in love who praises the merits of a woman who shares his life.
Shakira is a great singer and and perform The Accent she has is very nice sounding because she From Columbia . Side note the village were she from is the as the actress from Modern Family Sophia sorry couldn't remember her last name.
Eric Gaudet ...Shakira is from Colombia not Columbia and Sofia’s last name is Vergara 😉
I love Shakira too❤️❤️❤️
I love you Beth!
You're so beautiful and sing so lovely! Cheers from Mexico!
Shakira, our Colombian representation 🇨🇴💖
FYI Beth, if didn't know you are mentioned on Shakira's wikipedia page, which is what brought me here
Shakira does have a unique style and her dance moves are impressive.
Please react to Estoy Aqui Unplugged, please! please!
Skakira studied in a private french school in Barranquilla Colombia, that’s why she’s very fluent in English and French. Also her Arabic influence is because she is a Lebanese descend, her full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll.
I Like your reaction!!!
Thank you x
There is a very popuñar version of this song in Spanish. It was a 1997 cover by a latin group DLG song La quiero a morir. It has those voice inflections too.
React to la llorona by Angela Aguiler, aida cuevas and natalia lafoucarde
Hey! Here is my reaction to Aida: ruclips.net/video/ZCEHb-qrBYs/видео.html
The original is from Francis Cabrel, have you considered reacting to one of his (many) songs? His voice is quite unique with a strong, very recognizable southern accent.
Amo su acento británico.
Yasssssss shakirraaa
loviu Beth..
Beth is in the house...Beth is in the hizouse. Thanks for another amazing video. Please do a vocal coach reaction to Brian Setzer of The Stray Cats. Much like Brian, you also have cat class and cat style. We can all have a bit of cat class and cat style by visiting our local animal shelter and adopting a cat and giving him or her a great home. Beth, please tell your viewers not to be selfish pricks and get out there and adopt a cat. Thanks again for another superb video.
band-maid puzzle epic sound !
I love Shakira 👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻🤗🤗
Do something of Mercedes Sosa, perfection made voice, or Lila Downs, or the incredible Brazilian Caetano Veloso (A dress and a love for example)
Thanks for the suggestion x
merci
She’s unique
ya siento que te amo Beth! Yo te arreglo papeles mexicanos!
Love shakira
Another fantastic experience is the MTV Unplugged ESTOY AQUÍ
There was this group called Dark Latin Groove who’s singer, Huey Duncan, KILLED it!!! If you ever find it, give it a listen 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My bad... Huey Dunbar 🙈

Eres hermosa 🌹🇨🇱
Reaction (La Quiero a Morir - DLG). Salsa Version
Please react to Floor Jansen and Hank Porter doing "Phantom of the Opera" from Beste Zangers. You won't regret it. Really showcases her talent and proves she is the best female singer on the planet. :)
Thanks for the suggestion x
Yes! Please do, Beth! That duet is perfection! Henk Poort was the original Dutch Phantom and him singing with Floor was just amazing to see.
I personally feel she has had better vocal showcases than that. But it wasn't a bad duet. I like the way she was performing.
Beth, I'd love to see you react to Zaz's "Eblouie par la nuit" or any other song by her. Cheers from Patagonia!
You should look into Ana Barbara!! Got to work w her recently and just listening to her live backstage. And how she played w her tones... beautiful... some songs i recommend..
Bandido
La trampa
Brujeria
Que poca
And my fave..... Lo Busque.
Cant wait to hear ur opinion :)
I enjoy your videos and appreciate that you share your knowledge. Laura Pausini is one of my favorite singers. She is definitely worth your analysis.
Thanks! I'll take a look x
Deja que salga la luna - Pedro Infante. Awesome singer.

look MAYRE MARTINEZ - AMORFODA (THE VOICE 2019)... It's amazing!
Another great reaction! Please do Queensryche-Queen Of The Ryche live in Tokyo
💛
Beth is there anyway you could react to Alan Stone? I’m very surprised that no vocal coaches have reacted to him yet because he’s well established and amazing! I also think it would be a very interesting reaction because you could talk us through how much he uses mouth to control his sound! The Mahogany Sessions recorded his cover of Bob Marleys “Is this Love” And it’s outstanding and has some very interesting thing going on!
Please react to the theme of Shakira, "No". It is the best example of the magic you can achieve with your voice.
Love it. Please react some MTV Unplugged by Shakira.
That is sjakira”s singing voice, Arabic of course she is half Arabic, heard her in French Otis so magnifique!!! We Hispanics are full of a lot of other cultures; we belong to them!!!! Otis pu background
