Yeah, I made a set of hard body panniers a few years ago, out of plastic dry boxes, I got from a sporting goods store. But they where heavy and clunky. But, completely water proof and lockable. So its not a bad idea.

I decided to buy this simply to save time and work. Lazyness.

I wonder if washers would fit inside the pannier to help with load and stress for those two bolts? Thanks for the video!!

I would go with reflective stickers rather than paint and maybe use some bungee cords or straps to add additional support add some kind of bushing to keep it from rattling.. you can find reflective tape at the hardware store

Yes I agree, some kind of Bungee Cord or strap to keep the box from rattling. And stickers would be better. You could drill a few hols in the bottom, for ventilation, and letting any water that got in have a way out. I tinkered with hard body panniers a few years ago. Made mine from some large dry boxes I got from a sporting good store. They worked great, but I found them to be a tad heavy, and yes they where on my Ebike. Plus a bit clunky. I believe they are in one of the video's on my channel.

I'm thinking a rain cover for backpacks could also work - sure, the pannier is waterproof already, but for hi-vis and to keep the pannier cool in hot sunny days, a reflective yellow cover might do the trick. Just gotta find one that fits tight so it doesn't flap in the wind.

If your interested in how I made mine. I could do a video on them. I still have one left.
