Dude! Thank you so much! Based on my own experience, I have watched so many restringing tutorials, and yours is by far the best! I find that so many other tutorials make things confusing, but yours was easy to understand!
Thank you for keeping it simple and actually explaining some things! Took me 3 videos of confusion (new to electric guitars) before finding yours to figure any of this out even tho it's so simple haha The tremolo bridge thing is what confused me the most tbh because people did all this complicated stuff with adjusting heights, adjusting the truss rod (hope I spelled it right) etc etc I'm sure all that stuff is needed to be done eventually or when you get different types of strings but I just wanted change these cheap ass strings that came with my guitar 😅 the higher e string and the a string both snapped at the same time when I went to play my fav song (which is very chill...I'm very much NOT a shredder) Also, your cat is a very handsome and adorable chaos entity just like mine haha Mine was also trying to eat the strings and play with them
Terrific video! I personally love vintage tuners. I find them easier to string than the current tuners with a hole on the side. Suggestion - you need to have kitty in more of your shots!!! Made me smile!
Thank you for a great video. I just got a nice Fender with vintage tuners (my first) and I couldn’t of string my guitar without you! Although my finished tuners didn’t look like yours. I probably will be getting locking tuners though. I have them on all my other guitars.
I also have the same squier strat in black maple neck in mint condition 1984 .Please can you tell me what tuner you are useing I whant one .Big Al from ITALY Great Video To
40 plus years working on guitars. It's fine taking all strings off. No oil on fret board. Lightly water damp cloth and lightly wipe board. Tune and check intonation though I'm sure there will be little change. No concerns with truss rod. Cheers!!
Came here because a lot of youtubers said my azes needs locking tuner and it is not possible to use the vintage tuners. Therefore I will try the advice on the 1. string. Your video is really helpful. Thank you very much.
Always find it a pain to redo my old strat, one of the string ends always gets stuck in one the holes. My les paul I can do the whole lot in no time at all.
I think Roy knew another way to restring, he wanted to show us.

easiest way to stop the strings from popping out while restringing is to push the string down with a toothpick in the tuner hole while you wind it up.

Great tutorial. I like to stretch the strings right after putting them on, then tune.
Can you make a video on restring a violin and mandolin? I've never changed the strings. And how much slack for violin
The only thing I can say which you did not do was stretching the stings a couple of times before a final tuning.

I go One by one as keep a similar tension on the neck, thus avoiding intonation shifts and possible truss rud issues. Thoughts?
