As one commentor has said on EVERY Neo post on You Tube.....yes it is similar to the Hover X1 in that it has predefined floght modes (we get it..!) But it appears the Neo will also have a controller option which makes it far more superior and useful, for less money. It will be a gateway into the hobby for many beginners at a very attractive price point with easy modes and then more full on flying....sign me up 👌👌😀
So, a well behaved follow me cam would be interesting, more so if they add the sound cancelling algo and then incorp. that into the lineup moving forward.
Sounds interesting. I teach drones in Elementary school. If the Neo +Goggles+RC controller comes in considerably less than the AVATA, it will be on my buying list. Budget is always a criteria for schools and I've wanted to add a dependable FVP "feel" drone to my class, however most have either been difficult to operate or too expensive (anything FPV, Avata, etc). My students can fly anything from the Tellos to the DJI Avata, however I'd like to see them inside a goggle and racing through gates with a drone package that won't break the bank. Maybe the NEO is the one?
It is the same goggles and motion controller as the avata 2 and the goggles cost £579 on their own. A lot of the cost in the basic Avata 2 bundle is the goggles 3. Here in the UK the Avata 2 fly more combo with a single battery (the Avata 2 itself, motion controller 3 and goggles 3) comes to £879 whereas the goggles 3 alone comes to £579. So I wouldn't count on a bundle with the neo, goggles 3 and controller being much cheaper or everyone would just buy the neo just to get the goggles 3 cheaper. The bundle with the Avata 2 is already pretty good value considering the Avata 2 on its own is £429 and the motion controller 3 is £79, so if you bought the three items individually it would be £1087. So even if the neo was only £200 for just the drone I don't think the cost of the basic bundle would reduce all that much, it would probably still be in the £700-800 range. For classroom use have you looked at the likes of the BetaFPV Cetus X? Small, light, very durable in my experience and you can repair it all yourself. It is analog and uses lipo batteries and the battery only lasts about 5 minutes, but if you want proper FPV flight and to fly through gates then it may be better and cheaper than a DJI drone where even with DJI care refresh it will probably be comparatively expensive to repair and need sent away. Maybe you could try contacting DJI and asking for an education discount?
The more I'm learning, the less I'm convinced this will be flown in manual mode...but I agree -- if this was a true-to-form whoop that was compatible with the DJI FPV Controllers, I'd be buying it immediately.
With a drone this small, it's surprising that I haven'r heard anyone questioning the wind tolerance of the drone... I will buy it and test it for INDOOR flight... If it doesn't perform well indoors, back it goes!
Due to its projected light weight configuration, it seems it will have a few distinct limitations for outside use when it comes to wind and other inside environment influences and restrictions (fans, metal/steel structures, buildings, etc.). But,…. we shall see. It will interesting to see which package options are put together for this one. Thanks for the video. Soon, we’ll be able to say, “Have a NEO day!” 😎👊🥳
Loving my Hover Air, but the lack of 4K and a little bad video quality is not so good. Maybe DJI will put a square sensor in it and you can choose landscape or portrait, maybe even in post... I mean they kn ow how to. Would be cool, so you can use one clip for both. I just do my "selfies" for my videos, so may I would want to have the rd motion with it
the Neo looks cool. I just ran across your channel. I've been reviewing drones for 8 years on YT though I've since expanded to cover all RC and not just drones. Good info!! I just got a Mini 3 with the RC remote for a great price.
Personally i think that photo with the goggles might be photoshopped, just doesnt make sense to be making a drone work on old inventory that dji might no longer even have
@@timoklap There are a few things wrong with it but could it just be a proof of concept drawn up by the packaging department who don't yet have access to the actual package contents? Maybe DJI doesn't let them know much about the drone or what is in each bundle at this stage because they know that someone might leak it.
@@conorstewart2214 well im sure the drone itself is a real deal. And wiöm defenfly also buy it on releaseday. Cos its so light. It would be possible by law to fly over people.
Odd that it has those settings on the drone though it doesn't appear to have any obstacle-avoidance-sensors so I doubt it would fly without a controller.
Check out the HoverAir X1 if you haven’t already! It has no OA sensors onboard (other than downward, which is standard for landing purposes) and it can be flown completely hands free. I expect to see the same functionality from the Neo.
Hard to say. I already missed one projection this year (kind of, I guess I still have 4 days before I'd say I was officially wrong about the Air 3S)...the fact we have both the Air 3S and the Neo pretty much in the same position of the leak-release pipeline has me questioning how they're going to do this...part of me believes they'll release the Air 3S sooner because while it's still an extremely accessible and popular drone platform -- it is a bit more cost-prohibitive to the casual user and/or gift giver. That leads me to think we'll see the Neo maybe in November -- just in time for holiday shopping? I hope I'm wrong because I'd like to see these drones sooner than later, what with the NDAA conversations ramping back up again...but time will tell.
@@TheDroneGeek that makes sense. I know the Air is an extremely popular platform, but now that I’ve started to fly the Avata and get j to FPV, assuming the Neo will be easily parable with the FPV remote and goggles 3, I’d prob pick that up before the Air, even wait and forgo the air for a Neo. What I really want in my life, that I see no rumors regarding, is a second generation FPV drone. The concepts look amazing but that’s all there is as far as I can tell. Assuming the FPV2 doesn’t make some dramatic release, the neo will be next for me.
If this is compatible with the RC-N2 then hopefully it also works with the RC2. If it works with the goggles 3 and motion controller 3 then that would be good too as I will likely get the avata 2 soon, then I would just need to buy the drone itself.
Without the obstacle avoidance-sensors and just with 4 minutes extra time vs HoverAir it will not have any advantages with that size. The HoverAir can be flown also with the optional 8Bitdo Micro Bluetooth Gamepad Pocket-sized Mini Controller.
Didn’t know you could build a category 1 drone yourself, can you clarify. I have several I did just that for but was told it had to be listed was my advisor wrong?
Category 1 are not required to be manufacturer certified. They are pilot certified. If you build a drone that checks all of the boxes for the categorical requirements, it’s up to you to ensure it stays compliant - so you are self-certifying it.
very interesting doc you made I voted with this amazing new drone that was born to complete the range of leader DJI ! But... unfortunatelly, half weight of range limit of tiniest drones could dramatically induce large wind related issues!!! This is natively enhanced by just less aerodynamics by its propellers guard ! So DJI should be as me...more curious about how this too weightless drone will compete with even low windy average!🤔🤔🤔😫😫😫
Oh come on, rear box with the goggles is clearly photoshoped, and they done a poor job too. The components listed is of the DJI Avata 1, with their 5 bladed props, charger and picture of the battery.
Good point. Although if you only use it for its on-frame autonomous flight modes, it would be EXTREMELY portable. I suppose it depends on the way you intend on using it.
It will not have collision avoidance, but it will have downward sensors (most likely) just like every other DJI drone and the HoverAir. That will enable it to RTH or Auto Land. The RTH will be interesting because I imagine this drone will not be flown in scenarios where it is way up high, given it's lightweight and configuration. But if anyone knows how to figure out to make it make sense, it's DJI.
The picture of the box is fake. There is a picture of the goggles 3 which have built in battery ( integra style )and a picture of the goggle battery, which only compatible with the earlier goggles models( goggles v2 and goggles2).
Bro, that box with the goggles is so fake, like c'mon man. First of all that's an Avata 1 charger on the bottom right, next to that is a goggle battery for the V2s and goggles 2. The goggles 3 pictured does not use an ext battery. The props are for the Avata as well. The NEO has 3 blade props. The removable antennas, the gimbal cover. This is such an obvious fake I'm shocked you made a video about it. Lol.
I should have put a disclaimer, I used the Photoshop generative fill feature to make the pictures fit into frame better. When the box next to it was “filled in” it was covered in nonsense text, so I just blurred and smudged it. Good eye, but these images are legit!
Yall need to stop asking these questions, the drone could be fake or not come out for months, like it’s a LEAK. Not every little bit of information can be told.
I could see where you’re coming from with that assertion. I think DJI will do it well though and create a product that brings value to the market and is more versatile. I LOVE the HoverAir X1 for what it is, but the lack of peripheral controls outside of the automated flight modes and phone application interface was always annoying for me. It was not purposed to have that type of interface, but the lack of any type of real RC still left me wanting more from an otherwise very capable drone.
Absolutely a winner for DJI. I will get one to add to my other 6 DJI drones.

I'd like it to fly indoors using the same gear as my Avata. I would use the follow me option and GPS routes too. Wish the Avata did those things.

god is dji coming out with a micro video system = )
Will the Neo have standard RID?
If it is that light it does not need it.

I believe it will come equipped with Remote ID because of the possibility of it being flown commercially and/or over people.
