- A compilation of all the Hero themes from the Megaman Battle Network series and its spinoffs! Timestamps will be in the pinned, as usual!
Notes/Justifications:
New layout!!!! Don't know if I'll keep goin with this or go back to my old one
Battle Network 1 doesn't actually have an official Hero theme; Running Through the Cyber World is technically NumberMan's stage. However, given that it plays when a hero theme would and is basically otherwise a Hero theme, most people count it as BN1's Hero theme.
Cross Fusion doesn't actually appear in Network Transmission, but given that the theme is that of the first OP to the anime, it seemed fitting..? I didn't know what else to use lmao
I'm finally forcing myself to add OSS to these, which humorously resulted in both the shittiest quality theme (OSS) being right next to the best quality one (15th Arrange)

Anyways I like how for the 6th game they just gave up and went with "Hero!"
rollerblazing I feel like it's more of what MegaMan is by then. It slowly goes up from just running through cyber space, to showing courage, to upholding justice, to forming a team and no longer fighting alone, to being an all out Hero!
Great set of games with fantastic soundtracks! On the eve of the 30th anniversary, I hope they announce some sort of revival...
Numberman's stage has a surprisingly deep theme for just another dungeon of the game (particularly by incorporating the game's main theme into it). Maybe it's partly due to the fact that Higsby would be quite a series mainstay lol.
CatatonicComplex imo it’s because the Numberman scenario is the first time Lan and Megaman have to step up and be heroes; Fireman’s scenario was just sort of putting out a house fire, but in Numberman’s, the whole school is at stake. It’s the first time Lan and Megaman have to handle a crisis, so it’s sort of a beginning/coming of age of sorts for them.

Transmission: The theme was based on the first anime opening, so it's represented by Crossfusion
BN2, BN3: The "strongest" styles
BN4-BN6: Coolest forms
BN4- Full Synchro plus Chip Advances done with repeatable stacking making double damage advances allowing for theoretical two shot kills on bosses. If THAT isn't exploitable power I don't know what is. Imagine Double Damage Dark Chips included.

I'm desperately hoping exe makes a comeback on Switch, and exe gets in as a DLC character tbh. His Mii skin mysteriously disappeared coming from 4 to Ultimate. And BN had a bigger backing than SF. There has to be a reason they skipped past exe, and I'm quietly hoping it's because of a BN7+Smash DLC release lol

Well the good news is that we are finally getting a legacy collection of all 10 games next year.
This may be a tad late, but a Legacy Collection has just recently been announced with all ten of the games included. It's set to come out in 2023. Look forward to it. =)

The 2016 of Running through the Cyber World is so freakin good, just to show how good this series was and a total homage to where it all started
Every megaman will always be my childhood, I remember playing battle network at school and figuring out the story and how to advance (game was in english and I didn't know the language yet), it was a blast everytime we reached a new chapter with my friends.
I remember watching a let's play of BN3 when I was _very_ young and having absolutely no idea what was happening. I ended up quitting pretty early.
Then I returned years later and it was a _blast._
Can't thank you enough for putting all of these nostalgic songs in one place, Nice one.
P.S. Perfect candidate chosen to represent MMBN 4, Wind soul is one of the best things to come out of that game.

Meddy is my favourite support navi character in mmbn5. My favourite waifu in the mmbn series
It’s my favorite Megaman series ever, and I’m confident saying that it ranks second behind the Zero series as the greatest Megaman series of all time. It grandiose really. I hope my kids get to enjoy it someday.
And really, What an ost to conclude the saga. MMBN6 was truly a masterpiece.

I miss pvp with my friends in BN3. Half of us would use bug soul, so you always got funny situations like person stuck going to the bottom of the screen. Or being panicked selecting chips since hp would be dropping while paused.
My friends and i would do specific challenges like who could win in a megabuster only match or program advance only battle. Epic fights were had :')
I am jealous, I never got to have a link battle on MMBN. Which is really unfortunate, it sounds like I missed some great times.

My first BN was BN4, and man the Megaman Series and Kingdom Hearts is the only series Ive replayed so often (BN4 over 9 times XD) at 11:57 the nostalgia hit harder than expected snif

I'm a BN oldfag who found out the series when the was only BN1, and got hooked and followed it very closely till the end. I just didnt play the SF games.

Having only played the first and bn 6 games as a very young kid i never noticed that the hero theme was recurring. Also proof of courage and run through the cyber world are amazing. I never knew of their existence and the similarity to he shooting star theme from SF makes me rlly enjoy them

From What i remember, network transmission's hero theme is named "a New ambition"
Skip to 11:00 for my personal favorite rendition.
Probably something like 3 > 5 > 1 > 6 > 2 > 4 for me. And 5 is mainly above 1 thanks to the DS remix.

This compilation feels kind of incomplete without Moving Scene from the Star Force trilogy, but I guess that isn't strictly MMBN.
Also, wow, hearing the two versions side by side, MMBN5's Hero theme really lost a lot in the transition from GBA to DS, didn't it?
abraveastronaut oh my god yes. While I think both work while playing the games- I did enjoy the DS ost a lot more while I was playing it- GBA is sooooo much better when it comes to listening alone tbh

tbh between making these into videos and uploading them to RUclips a certain degree of sound quality loss is inevitable, but I haven’t noticed any actual missing channels? Like I listen to the raw mp3s for the battle network osts daily and besides the inevitable muddiness it sounds fine to me but I could be wrong. It could also depend on the headphones you’re wearing!
Also the track you’re referring to, the Hub one, is “Hour of Fate”, BN1’s emotion theme*! It plays during the “”sad”” part (when he dies to MagicMan), but Running Through The Cyberworld plays when Lan uses Hub.bat to resurrect him and it’s all uplifting and such.
*theres no official name for em afaik so I just call em “Emotion” themes-think Wiping Tears, Vicinity of Sorrow, Promise, et cetera. I’d call em sad themes but Hour of Fate is more melancholic than sad, Tender Moments isn’t sad either, and Sad Rain is used more ironically than not
also ya oss is shit. I’d really rather not put it in at all but i do it for completion’s sake
they should really redo OSS and release it in the USA, but that'll never happen just like a lot of things us MMBN and Megaman fans in general would really appreciate from Capcom ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
