Dumbledore entering on a hoverboard is absolutely effin inspired! Its exactly the kind of thing Starkid themselves would have done if hoverboards had existed at the time. Also shout out to this Ron for doing an absolutely phenomenal job at mimicking Joey Ricters mannerisms and speech pattern.
I'm 10 minutes into this and already love 1) Dumbledore's on a hover board, 2) Dumbledore's still in slides, 3) Diggory still pushed the four main characters, and 4) when each of the houses are said the lights are the main houses' colors.
So this was totally awesome! Firstly the guy playing Dumbledore was incredible, such an amazing actor! The guy playing Goyle was hilarious, his performance was great! Ginny has such an amazing voice and did a good job! Ron stole the show, I could not stop laughing and smiling, he was brilliant! Voldemort was amazing as well, he was such an incredible actor with lots of talent! Harry and Hermione were brilliant as well! Everyone in this show was amazing well done to all! I love seeing new versions of AVPM and this did not disappoint! Well done 👍🏻
Yeeeeees! This was amazing! I loved how you changed certain jokes to make them work better. Good job to everyone, y'all were amazing! Bless your hearts!
Such a great production, everyone did so wonderful!! I was laughing throughout and I love how some of the jokes were a bit modified to be funnier for the audience and times. My favorite performances have to be from Ron, Ginny, and Voldemort (and honestly the 2 who played Crabbe and Goyle were so funny and stole just about every scene they were in, both of them always getting a laugh out of me) The voice of Ginny!! Sing it girl!!! I listened to her belting out those notes over and over again, she did fantastic. Along with playing her very shy and obvious crush, very cute and very good. Hermione also had a great singing voice too but she never really had the spotlight to truly shine, however her Going Off during the dance? Queen. Ron is funny in every scene and it’s So Good. Im trying to pick a specific moment to compliment but I can’t choose. Everything was great, splendid comedic acting and wonderful singing. I will say I was a little hesitant on Harry at first and I do think he needs to support his voice more, but his performance QUICKLY grew on me. Great actor, he works so well off of the other cast members and his deadpan delivery for some lines had me laughing so much and rewinding to watch it over and over again. Voldemort, just great. I was a little nervous and I’ll admit it’s hard not to compare to the original at first, but all that went away in the scene where he got his body back. The “To Dance Again” segment had me smiling so wide and I was SO on board with this Voldemort for the rest of the show. Once again it’s hard to pick a specific moment because it was a great performance all around. Draco was very clearly having a great time on stage and I feel they really emulated Lauren’s...eccentricities with the rolling and ~Dramatics~ I will say, one of the weaker performances, but not a bad one by any means, it just felt like the other characters shone more than they. Still, fantastic. One small moment I just really liked for some reason was when Draco was trying to comfort Voldemort and the hand motions while they backed off...idk I love it. Snape was also Extra and Great. At first it did kind of feel like an impression of an impression, but they quickly came into their own and I loved watching it. The screaming during the hand moment...damn boi... Cedric was fun, I feel like it’s hard to go wrong with him. He emphasized every “find” well and kept it humorous each time. I wish the blocking was a bit different for the punch scene if only because being able to see his wide smile as he punches Harry is gr8. Dumbledore...KING. Other comments have pointed this out, but the coming in on the hoverboard??? Fantastic, give the person who came up with that a raise I love it. He pulls off the original performance’s silliness/naïveté very well, love it. Quirell (? Idk how to spell) was alright I feel. I felt like the actor was trying to play timid and shy but it came off more as...bland? I felt he shined in more emotional scenes, like the Thomas Jefferson comment or when he’s sad over Voldemort’s death. His acting was also good in the songs he was in. Those are the main roles I’m going into because if I were to try and go into everyone’s performance this would be way too long (and it already is). Everyone did wonderful, a couple people probably could’ve used a bit more practice on certain parts of songs, but it never detracted from the performance. I really wish those segments that were missing at the end were there, really would’ve liked to see them. I really wish I could direct a production like this. Everyone (including the crew!!!) did so amazing and I could sing it’s praises for much much longer, but I’ll spare anyone reading this. I’m definitely going to be coming back to watch this again and again, so I’m probably going to comment other thoughts later haha Amazing performance
I just found this tonight while having a nostalgic scroll after introducing my youngest sister to avpm, 4 years late to the party but you guys smashed it😂
@@jessezog you did a really great job!! i really liked how you played harry:) out of the few unofficial avpm’s i’ve watched, yours was definitely my favourite!! -from a fellow starkid watcher
A very potter musical is my favourite musical, I don't even like musicals, but a very potter musical changed that, also from and his rice crispy lol, and Ron and Hermione kissing scene as well, LOL
The guy playing Quirrel looks down at the floor a lot & the dude playing Harry seems pretty nervous, he doesn't project hardly at all - other than that you guys did so well, especially considering it's a high-school play! Especially the guy playing Ron, felt very relaxed and sincere! Edit: Harry warmed up after the first few acts, great job! I love that you included the edited joke under the cloak! Magic!💫
Well they'd be pretty hypocritical if they didn't, seeing as Warner Bros and JK never gave out the rights for them to even create the Potter Musicals in the first place.
No one is mentioning Draco in the comments I’m scared he’s gonna be bad- Edit: yep, I’m disappointed. In Draco, and in the dead audience... but anyway, everyone else is really good like yesssss but Cedric needs a better singer 👀
Omg is this allowed now? It used to not be allowed to do Starkids Potter plays because of copyright things they had going on with Warner Brothers. Did that change?
Flipping Dumbledore on a hoverboard is something I didn’t know that I needed in my life
this is incredible, everyone is so talented. It’s original but so respectful to StarKid’s original at the same time :)

Amazing performance
This was an amazing production! Everyone was so good!
HARRY'S MOVES IN DANCE AGAIN WERE SO COOL! it looked like he was a puppet
the casting is so good, especially ginny, voldermort and harry
ron too
This was so good for being in high school, it lacks a few things that the original had but was SOOOO GOOOOD. Love them.
Dumbledore is riding a hoverboard yea but hes also wearing SOCKS AND SANDALS
This was a very good production, some of the jokes were even better than in the original! Great job!
is no one talking about the fact the kid playing Harry sounds EXACTLY like Darren Criss!?!?!
Maybe its Darren Criss in disguise
Ikr ! I though it was a recording at first
Dumbledore’s actor was amazing 😂👏🏻
I did not expect hoverboard dumbedore, but the more i think about it, the more in character it is
I just found this tonight while having a nostalgic scroll after introducing my youngest sister to avpm, 4 years late to the party but you guys smashed it😂
I love Harry doing the working boys dance!! That was hilarious 😂
THEY GOT VOLDEMORT LITERALLY LIKE 100 PERCENT
Can we just talk a bit about Voldemort?? He's like identical with the original
the casting is so perfect lmaooo

Are you a professional musician???? If not then stop judging everyone was amazing
@Leah Human, how does being a musician have anything to do with my comment??
pixie dustinii being disappointed in someone who spent time and hard, genuine work on a production.
I totally agree. In my opinion, it lacked originality and the comedic beats just felt off.
I thought Draco was amazing, the acting was very close to the original imo.
Omg is this allowed now?
It used to not be allowed to do Starkids Potter plays because of copyright things they had going on with Warner Brothers.
Did that change?
As long as they don't make money off of the performance I think it's okay
I think the original Star kids did a lot much better
Well obviously this is a high school. And the OG starkids were in college for drama.
