I was watching Blaine on Glee tonight and I was reminded of how much of a goober Darren is, and I had an impulse to watch some StarKid stuff. I teared up at this. If you told this Darren - crazy-haired Darren who dresses up as Harry Potter and makes weird covers of Disney songs I mean who does that - that someday he would be a regular on Glee, he would do Broadway, he would be winning awards, that he would be going on a sold-out solo tour... He wouldn't believe you. Here's a kid who knows nothing more than being a dork with his friends and singing about Harry Potter, and he has no idea where he's gonna be in a few years. I really hope, once this whole Glee thing is done, he does some more stuff with StarKid. That's where he's at his best.

I come back to this video every few months and i think I figured out why. This was only a few months after the video had been posted, it was joke for all of them as friends. This is THE moment where they all realize that they accidently made somthing bigger than themselves. You can just see it in Darrens face specifically that it all just clicked in that moment where everyone sang "privet drive." This was a moment that was right before it all truly blew up for them, in this video you're watching stars being born. And this is never going to happen like this again. It's like a moment stuck in time and it's super nostalgic. And it makes me smile just thinking about the last 11 year's and the fact that i grew up on this. That i was just going into middle school when they posted AVPM... My entire teenage years consisted of watching this group of people develop their talents and become amazing performers... And it's just so special.

i wish i'd been an addition to the fandom way earlier. i've only started and finished the movies this year, and it feels like i'm late or whatever. i'm watching this at 1am, and i dunno, it just feels heartwarming to see them goof around like this. i've known darren from glee, and i really do wish i was in the fandom ever since i was smaller. i guess maybe that's why i can't figure out what house i belong in, or why i want to finish the books as soon as i can, and rewatch the movies when i can. i just wish i'd have been here earlier.
