After seeing one of his Bananas killed due to torture, Cranky was filled with a rage he had once before and smashed the table.
Moral of the Story: Don't mess with a Cranky Kong.
That's the only reasonable answer I got for why Cranky was able to break that table.
So how did he break the ice floor?
Well, he finally found the person responsible for taking the Bananas and freezing the island. The rage came back and he used it to challenge him.
