Temp sensor is in drivers mirror....can cause DPF issues
Unfortunately not the cause. Mine is fully functional and reading the correct temperature. The turbo is in its way out
Fellow O'Rileys viewer😉
Third O'Rileys fan here😊
A number of things can cause these and boxers DPF issues,
The ambient temp sensor
The sensor in the wing mirror
The pat fluid which a lot of people sleep on
And the rad fans not kicking in or working make it not do a regen
I also had to do a deep cleaning 😉 on my dpf on my crafter and sprinter, along with remap ect would never bother trying to do anything else if I have the same problem on any other of my vehicles
Did you know the ambient temperature sensor in some wing mirrors will stop a DPF from cleaning ? I only found this out 2 years ago so I always look on the dash now and computer to make sure it's right and not missing as many vans get hit and they buy a cheap mirror with no ambient temperature sensor in that will cost them a living.
HES UPLOADING LOADS! LOVING IT !
Got more coming! 😂😂😂
respect for the different work put into this video. Love it lads. keep it up.
Awesome videos as always, can you refill the eolys tank on these like other vehicles., also have you told the ecu that you have changed the dpf ? If not it may not regenerate, I know on some Citroen an Peugeot models you need to do this.
Yeah, it is refillable. Just remove the upper pipe and let the ECU know that it’s got a new tank. Everything’s been reset as required
Im a big fan of Archoils fuel additive. £24 for a litre bottle. Add 1ml per litre. Diesel burns cleaner with it less soot and less dpf regens. Also means less oil dilution and the cetane boost makes it run smoother.
the eloys advice had to of come from sir orileys subs defo 😂😂 great watch
Was it me who said about the eloys/pat fluid?😜😉 did you reset the tank value? Also the tanks fail some vehicles you can delete the system off with the diagnostic tool👍🏽👌🏽
If your DPF is as 'very clean' as you say, it will definitely be trouble free from now on. My DPF was deep cleaned on my sprinter a long time ago. It's done 400K now and no bother from it. If the EGR is also 'very clean', and the ECU has been made aware of how 'very clean'' they both are, you are onto a winner 😂
Love it haha!
Bwahaha ! 😄
O'Rileys Autos channel is the Yoda of all DPF problems, check it out, Jimmy an irish chap fixing DPF related issues in UK left right and center, when all other garages fail fixing the problem Jimmy is saving the day
Yeah, he's become the "DPF Guru". He's your man and I don't think he's too far away. The ELOYS fluid can be replenished and the counter reset.
This is why ULEZ and similar zones are flawed. As modern vehicles age it becomes ever so tempting to remove all that junk and have it programmed out...and you can still drive it in London , get through a MOT and get away from any sort of legal bother...
In case adblue you can add forte anticristizator dpf if your adblue going shit 😊
i noticed on one of your videos that you changed the mirrors. did you change the one with the built in sensor in it for one without as without that working you will have dpf issues? sounds stupid i know but it's all part of the dpf system.
All genuine ones, yes. DPF issue is due to PCV fault 😭
good luck with it. my relays been off the road three months thanks to the garage i've been using for donkeys years. even managed to lose my undertrays ffs..o'reileys autos has a video on the mirror issue for one of his customers.@@themarvelousvlog
These vans always love having their fans on... sound like hoovers most of the time 😂
That's what we call a "straight-through" exhaust 🤔😳😉
Are you taking the credit for subscribers telling you the issue , or are you man enough to say you're not the best mechanic in the world and thank-you for my subscribers input , thats a real game changer and someone with big balls saying I needed I little help .
When did I take credit for someone’s suggestion? 😅
I said thank you to them. There’s no such thing as ‘best mechanic’ in this industry. If you are a mechanic and you think you’re the shit, you’re totally mistaken. I’ve always asked for help here, and I also know other good mechanics who’s asked me questions. No big ball Ben here mate
Terrible vans these. Our 68plate had a replacement engine and ecu form Citroen at 88k and lasted another 50k before its oil pump exploded and the engine shat itself once more . Waiting for engine number 3 now. On the flip side, our 462k 14 plate sprinter is fine!!
And that’s why I want a sprinter… 😂
As far as I recall this vans surprisingly have the ford "Puma" engine (in the peugeot as well).
Do these still have the vaporizer system in front of the DPF ? It might be worth checking that too.
This is not the 2.2 anymore. This is the 2.0 PSA HDi engine (DW10), which is the pits 😅 No vaporiser on this one unfortunately
I have a question, English call a front or rear fender, a wing, and they call a door a door. almost all Mirrors are on the door, so why call it a wing mirror?
Take it to see jimmy
I’ve spoken to Jimmy. I personally done an in-depth diagnostic and found that the Turbo is on its way out
@@themarvelousvlog Some man, for One Man Jimmy...
Take it see JOHN.😊
Ext temp sensor for some reason if not working WILL affect Dpf functionality
All working…
Did you clean the dpf.
Cleaned it very very very well
Cleaned out everything! @@themarvelousvlog
do you ever use cataclean or premium diesel mate ?
I’ve used everything that’s under the sun. No go. The turbo is shot. 4.4hrs to fix according to Haynes 🥲
Annnnd cue fault codes for DPF efficiency “pressure too low”🙈😂 11:14
Got that already- at least I’m not limping 😂
Hahaha brilliant😂 but like you say better than the reduced power mode haha…when’s your next mot due🙈😂
Hi keep it up you are doing a great job and having fun making some brilliant videos superstar Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery
Did you tell the van its had a new dpf to reset the values? and have you checked the pressure with a manometer compared to what the sensor is reading
100% done everything. The not reason why it’s like this is because the turbo is on its way out 🫠
It's always the EGR cooler that goes on this vans. Then you get coolant with oil mixed. Ford, if you are listening... Fix that on your vans. Because it's a ford engine. Basterds.
Turbo's also doesn't like chocolate milk.
Add some diesel system cleaner the injectors are probably dirty causing excess smoke and clogging the dpf.
Do a me smash the dpf out and get it maped out
I cleaned it it 👀🫠
Why not just get the addblue and dpf solution 😉😉. Problem fixed
Got the solution. It works, that’s all I can say 👀🫠
I bet cleaning the dpf was with a 3ft breaker bar 😂 worked well
You can use it to beat the outside so the soot falls out of the DPF 👀🫠
think them tanks let some out each time you open your cap and fill and that's why filling 10 or 20 is bad and why a full tank is better as it do last longer then and won't go as quick I was told.
Also not sure if you know but the AdBlue injector crystallizes you can often just take them off easy and clean them but you probably know that brother.
When it comes to DPF problems always use a Mityvac down the DPF hoses always you will be suprised how many are blocked and garages never check this.
Tip. If you want to check the AdBlue injector just start the van, get it hot and use the computer to let some out, if it smokes the injector is ok and not blocked, if it don't smoke then probably blocked. This test will save you time brother.
Yep can't beat old technology.... just a engine that starts And stops...and don't need all this bullshit....
A Tim Horton's cup of coffee? 🙂 I didn't know there was Tim Hortons in the UK.
There is in Watford. Newly opened 😂
NEVER use the non-genuine DPF fluid, like the PAT fluid from GSF. The genuine fluid from PSA or at least the genuine branded Eolys fluid available from brands like Bosal and Walkers is a proprietary chemical which lowers regen temp FAR more than the aftermarket stuff, which means the DPF manages to regen quicker, at a lower temperature and far easier. It's primarily why people have issues with PSA DPF's. If you have PAT fluid in your vehicle, I would go as far as drain it and refill with the genuine Eolys fluid... it isn't all the same!
Give me a Transit Di any day. One wire to the stop solenoid was the only electrics.
emission delete only solution
The van is never going to be right because they DPF and EGR Valve has already blocked up. This happens on all van's when the van's are not been driven on the motorway frequently and its blocks the DPF up. So to fix that issue you need to Delete the EGR and also Delete DPF also. You need to also update the software on the the computer. It's a long process but once you've done it it's for life. I'm 100% sure that's the problem because I've come across so many van's like this. it's a common problem when it's not been used on the motorway all the time because the soot in the DPF starts to build up and you will have a loss of power and the van will also smoke alot and it won't boost properly.
I drive 200 miles on the motor way on a daily basis… yikes… I tell you what though, my turbo is on its way out, which I’ve only just found out when I went on a in-depth diagnostic with this vehicle. EGR is new and the brand new second hand DPF has only done 20k from ASM
@@themarvelousvlog
OK then.
the solution to clean dpf is to remove it 😅😂😂😂
We cleaned ours with a solution 😉
Pat fluid ??????? Never heard of it
DPF additive says google, i only drive and work on old cars so id never heard of it either
@@anishmahadeo5073 oh cheers mate
Could be the vaporizer.. Thats what caused my dpf issues
No vaporiser on this unfortunately. 2015 and would with the 2.2 Ford Engine
I hear the Newer vans are worse
They’re the pits
Next time instead of buying another DPF get it cleaned by Colchester Injectors in Colchester. As they have a rig to clean the DPF using high pressure water. Cheaper than getting a refurbished one.
😂😂😂
Take it to see anto, micko, and domo...
😂😂😂
Injectors can cause this too
Got 4 new injectors installed as they failed at 120k
I’ve had it all mate 😂😂😂
O'Rileys Autos video's on youtube will show you everything you need to know about dpf issues and he will have on a few Citroen vans like yours
I’ve spoken to him personally. He’s not covered this one before but the main reason why mine keeps on blocking DPFs is because the turbo is on its way out
I have a 2016 Shitron Relay worst van ever had, you don’t want to know what I’ve spent on it 🤬 put it this way could had a new transit with it. Design to go wrong in all departments
Yhup. Funnily enough, we’ve just gone out to a Citroen Relay, same year as mine. It’s got bottom end knock at 70k. Serviced every 7k. Shame really…
Cheap supermarket fuel
Definitely not 😂
Do you ever know how useless that copper grease are on exhaust? Sure you do not because you have ZERO education
Burn this van its french can't believe you spent 4k in repairs by 1k id given up might aswell import a Japanese van then 0 problem whether it'll ulez is the other issue
I just got rid of my bleedy French van cost me a fortune and brought a mitsubishi shogun sport 2002. Basically a van. Simple and old school
@xgouldiex sadly he's not got that option coz of ulez everyone keeps coming to me at age 18 like wth! what work vsn they should get I say 2.0 tdi vw transporter coz they don't breakdown. Toyota hiace are quite good parts idk thoughI know some ppl are starting to turn to kia souls because they're cheap as chips
this is what happens when you buy French
Exactly 😂😂😂
@@themarvelousvlog i had a Peugeot and it kept breaking down cutting out on me, buy German never think again. Also my DPF fell out as well gotta love a permanent solution lol
