I'm still waiting your availability to come in diagnos in fix my Vauxhall Astra 1.6 petrol. You're the best mechanic guys to get back the trust of people who was victims by other bad mechanics. Thanks for we have now a good mobile and youtuber mechanic.
I need a work truck for mobile service any suggestions? just doing brakes tune ups wheels and tires batteries, and some steering and suspension no engine or transmission jobs as of yet.
Kerbside the GOAT! Came in clutch for the bois. And came through with the fish and chips, damn good man. This video made me anxious as hell man, I hate these days where a job just keeps piling up especially when I'm using other peoples space. I've spent many a time til 2 or 3 am fixing a job that should have only been a 2-3 hour job. I have been working on cars since I was a kid and thinking about getting into it as work but I just don't know. I am certified to work on computers and network systems as of now but I would love the time outside rather than being stuck in a building talking to people all day. Hard to choose what to do after I got out of the military, still struggle with it. Love your videos my brother.
Hero of the show Kerby...Villain of the show the Van...Should be beginning to cost money in terms of business...Unfortunately its not like the newer vans are any better
I hope you know a bout the outside temperature sensor on the drivers side wing mirror ? If you replace the wing mirror maker sure it has an outside sensor fitted otherwise you’re dpf will block up because it’s needed for dpf regen !
I bought a 2018 Relay 2.0 to convert to a camper. It's done just 71k but feels so fragile to drive, like something expensive is going to break at any second. It's also developed a horrific diesel smell coming through the vents, especially with the cab heater blower running, but can't see any diesel leaks anywhere. Despite just having had a gearbox bearing rebuild at considerable cost, it now judders/kangaroos when pulling away unless you give it a bit of revs. And now the indicators sometimes don't self-cancel. And now sometimes the indicator dash flasher blinks twice as fast, despite all the exterior bulbs being fine, which from internet research means the ECU is about to die at a cost of £4000 to replace it. I can't get it sold quick enough and am glad I got a sixth sense warning not to start the conversion. Reading/watching all your tales of woe, looks like I've had a relatively lucky escape thus far !!! What utter pieces of crap they are. I've got a 2010 Citroen C1 with 150k (!) on it and it's still going strong and never let me down in 9 years ! But these vans are jusr rebadged Fiats I think, which may be the real reason why they are so crap.
@@themarvelousvlog Thanks! After a worrying 4 weeks of time-waster tyre-kickers it finally sold for 9800 this weekend. I bought THREE magic trees to mask the diesel smell so it smelled like a tart's boudoir when you opened the door and got in but did the trick ! No chance of smelling diesel over that lot ! Long live the trusty filling station Magic Tree ! Need an update on yours. Surely something fresh will have broken on it by now ? ? ?
At the moment, PCV needs replacing as it’s drinking a tonne of oil per 1k miles 😂. I will then need to replace the leaf spring at some point and also the subframe bushing as it’s squeaking 🥲 there is more actually but too long to list 😂
@@themarvelousvlog Mannnn, I feel for you :( . I didn't do many miles in mine as it used to scare me too much lol but I did have to top up the oil on it in the 250 miles I did as it went from 4 blobs to 2 blobs on the dash, so I think mne might have had same issue. I noticed on the MOT history that it had a history of oil leaks, although on the latest one there was no advisory for it and I couldn't see any wetness from looking in both the bonnet and underneath so maybe it was just a gasket that had been fixed, dunno. Total garbage vans these are. You could specialise in repairing this full time now with your knowledge and expertise with them. There's literally hundreds of them for sale on ebay as spares or repairs with various faults for a couple of grand.
@@themarvelousvlog If the engine is anything like the DW10CTED4, the fuel pump has a mini gearbox, which has a seal that is known to leak. Check the videos from Alan Howett.
And that’s a very biased uneducated statement. Citroen and Peugeot produce some of the best Diesel engines money can buy. This van has been abused (clearly) before he bought it, and it seems he’s the unfortunate one paying for it all now. Logically, the dog bone mount, clutch and dpf are wear and tear items. Most diesels kill the dog bone mount before 100k miles. It’s common on most not just the French. I’d say go and do abit more research before you start making silly comments like that.
Except that van isn’t a Citroen or Peugeot It’s a rebadged Fiat Ducato which is part of the problem It’s also a very old design, going back to 2006. They aren’t great vans, which is why East of England Ambulance Service is trying to get rid of their Fiats, even though the oldest is an early 2020. Up to half are off the road at any given time
buy a Sprinter bro from 2007 onwards all are bulletproof... I have owned only Sprinter and Iveco daily automatic with factory fitted air suspension 2016 xlwb never stopped in 3 years and i have used to transport palletised goods all around the UK... i paid £5500 for the Iveco on facebook marketplace i never pay more than that for a van but i choose very carefully the make so again Sprinter or Iveco
Omg boys I had a ford Transit like this van. I paid cheap 3£ for it and ended up spending 3k fixing it until the fuel injectors went. I stuck it on eBay and sold it for a massive loss to a mechanic in Manchester. He drove it home at 12 at night and it wouldn’t go any faster than 35mph. And he towed his car behind it. Vans are super hard to keep going
When I was ordering for parts, I asked if they had one, they said no. Clearly incapable. Had to talk to someone who is more sectioned and they managed to find it
100% that leaking intercooler would be contributing to your ongoing DPF issues. Any time you have a boost leak the engine will over fuel and this will block the DPF.
Seem to be a common fault with these vans Same thing happened to my 2016 relay the sleeve and bearing completely shattered as well as the clutch fork ball joint snapped
citroen has no experience with commercial and heavy duty vehicles... Mercedes manufactured lorries for decades no wonder Sprinter vans are most reputable workhorses
If that van in Euro6 then there is an ambient temp sensor in the drivers door mirror If you fit an aftermarket mirror without the sensor then it will never do a Regen. God knows why they did that, apparently only affects the Euro 6 not the Euro 5
Not necessarily. I have a sprinter and have had loads of issues, although it's on 400k miles so I let it off. Inlet manifold bolts snap in the head, new manifold needed as they are captive bolts. Exhaust manifold studs snap and manifold warps. Also kept breaking down on me with Abs and ESP faults. Then lastly broke down on me 5 hours from home with shorted injectors.😂
Sadly the modern toyota vans are just the same Peugeot/Citroen/Vauxhall rebadged so that doesnt apply to vans but volkswagen or mercedes probably do more reliable vans but by far the least reliable vans are ford now because there 2.0 ecoblue is wet belt
Just found your channel great content ... But the intercooler .... Your diagnosis is obviously wrong , my diagnosis in the past you have been through a lot of water ( clean water ) that has been carried into the induction system , probably the drain on the air box is blocked , the water spray or vapour off the filter is dragged into the turbo and heated then into the intercooler where it condenses , then whilst it's still there it freezes overnight , bloating the bottom of the intercooler , check the drain in the air box and the filter
No… no water was involved and I was never in a deep puddle. Filter is bone dry and I change it every 6 months. Nothing in there mate. What I noticed when I opened up the intercooler is oily soot which points to stuck open PCV.

No disrespect you deserve what you get when you think you can buy any French vehicle and get away with it wouldn't even have it if it's free there is a reason why you never ever see any French cars on the road after 10 years old

@yreva532 no, engine is good, don’t get me wrong, it’s what’s connected to the engine that’s going wrong 😂 Engine is well looked after, serviced every 5k, full tank of premium diesel once a week with an additive. Honestly just unlucky 😂

That Diesel smell is likely coming from a leaking injector, leaking leak-off pipe or leaking injector seals

BRILLIANT AS ALWAYS 😁
Have a 2.2 boxer with 330k just boug another one 2018 with 170 k on it 2.0 blue hdi turned off the add blue so far so good what mileage is on ur van?
This van reminds me of my citroen c4 Mk2 that breaks every time Im on a long run
And you were lucky the intercooler split as going round a corner it could have hydrolocked it when filled with water
Oil leak on top the gearbox is from the high pressure fuel pump leaking engine oil down
Wow! No maaann 😂 I need to double check this. I saw leak from the rocker cover BUT I won’t know until I check properly
