    You are so correct. i wish I had my dpf removed on a Mercedes CDI 250 back in 2017. The dpf got blocked and pressure sensors triggered my engine warning light. I went all over the place to get it sorted and some idiot reset the error codes with a Snap IT. I trusted his advice when he told me to drive it down the motorway. In the end the engine blew as the car was pushed hard in limp mode. I had to replace the whole engine cost me £4000.
    F***in hate the b***ards that put these stupid devices into law and ruined the diesel engines. The DPF is an awful device. Those engine regenerations don't properly clean them either. You have to take them out and regularly clean them or get rid of them. You need to burn extra fuel to regen which certainly isn't good for the environment. Just joke laws put in place no thanks mainly to Volvo and the Swedish government for bringing this idea and giving our stupid politicians another idiotic idea to push down our throats.

      PowerLifter LeZ to be honest it could be number of things a small boost leak will cause black smoke, a leaking injector also so it may not be just a bad map you would never see the smoke with mechanicle issues if a DPF is in place but conversely the DPF would become blocked very quickly with these faults too so you would only see them once removed, these issues may have been there it’s just as important to look at why it’s become blocked as well as removing it. BMW Programming & Encoding the problem is now all gasoline engines are having GPF or PPF fitted to the them so a particulate filter for petrols that will fails and cause problems also now so petrol or diesel are as bad as each other now!

    • @anthonykaiser974
      @anthonykaiser974 5 лет назад

      @@MaxtuneOfficial true, but for two engines of good condition and similar power, the gasoline (petrol) engine should put out less particulate matter, unless it's a GDI (petrol) engine. Of course, the G/PPF is probably sized accordingly, and so there's no real mileage to maintenance interval gain. Better perhaps to build smaller gas/petrol-electric hybrids that use smaller engines that warm up quickly, and an appropriately sized battery pack to power electric motors, which should be way more efficient in a city car, because electric motors have instant torque. The small engine powers a generator which keeps the batteries charged, which could also power a heating coil for the particulate filter and the catalytic convertor, which would speed up the warm-up process of the emissions controls that rely on being at temperature to do their job. That would also act to speed up the warmup of the engine.

The add in DPF's and GPF's ect along with all the electronics, sensors and other quite frankly unnecessary shit all built to fail within 5 years (can't sell new cars if the old ones all work) with the intention of pushing to all electric. Hello.
    I am Alex from Portugal
    Here's my story. I bought a VW Caddy 1.6 TDI 75 hp Bluemotion from November 2012.
    I bought it from VW dealership and was owned by the dealership. It had 102.000 km 63379 miles...
    After i bought it i made 60.000 km 37000 miles and it was fairly good, no failures no problems what so ever... now last week the EGR valve failed.... and guess waht is comming to fail next?... DPF filter if i dont take care of the EGR, and even if i do take care of the egr the dpf will fail, its just a matter of time.
    My mechanic told me that he can solve it but it will cost about 560 € about 500 pounds. And also that the new EGR valve may last 1 year or maybe less.
    So i suggested why not to take of the egr valve, and also the dpf filter? Here in Portugal it isnt ilegal to do it, and the car will pass in the mot.
    I am not searching for a tunning solution to get a faster car, not at all, cause i use the car to do my job, but i cannot let my car to ruin my finances... nor can i keep buying and selling a car everytime this issue happens.
    I drive everyday about 50 km at a speed of about 120 km/h wich converted is 31 miles at an averege speed of 74 miles/h.
    I take good care of my caddy has i use the top oils/filters and fluids, to keep engine ealthy. Even like this the car's engine isnt capable to be reliable.
    So my question is, can this model VW Caddy 1.6 TDI 75 Hp Bluemotion be removed the EGR and the DPF filter permanently?
    Thank you very much for your attention.
    When we think how much emissions you have to trow to the atmosfere to search for platinum, to fabricate dpf filters, to fit them, are we relly being friends to the environment?
    Thanks

    Finally someone speaking some sense !! I've just had a DPF replaced on my transit connect at a cost of £450. Then just 130 miles later all warning lights back on!!!!!! Cutting a very long story short... The garage now tell me my Fuel Vaporiser is now faulty along with the Fuel vapour fuel valve (small fuel pump that feeds the vaporiser) which will cost yet another £500. To top this, the garage are unable to confirm having these two parts replaced and paying another £500 will cure the fault. My question therefore is.... As I've just replaced the DPF and it is practically brand new, would this have to be cut open and the inners removed or could I possibly find an old one to have the guts removed and then put on my van when the system is deleted? Hope this make sense? Finally where are you based?

    All the dpf market like electric car, is a big scam! Especially for vehicles meant to be rode in town ( small city cars). Should have the option to legaly remove them and update the registration to euro4, and do the emmission tests like for euro4 or make the dpf cheaper instead of discounts for electric cars who polute more to be produced.

    • @2WheelDerness
      @2WheelDerness 10 месяцев назад

      And I say this, because I have a dpf car used mainly in town and sometimes is regenerating every few days making lots of smoke, no errors, no fault on the car...just nornal town clogging. The ideal function of dpf is to colect all the ashes from town trips and eject on autoband, but like this guy said, we dont live in ideal world and driving conditions are not like a test bench ( confirmed with start and stop idiocy). I feel better driving an dpf off car with no smoke than was doing with dpf and making huge smoke after me with often regens.

    Whether is is my old 4x4 puffing out a bit of smoke all the time or a modern vehicle puffing it out is a 10 minute regen on a motorway it doesn't matter,the same amount of emissions still has to come out.also they programme the modern cars to belch it out on long country roads and motorways. Not in cities and towns.dont think the government's and car manufacturers have thought this through. If it was the other way about (regening in a built up area ) there would be an uproar.
