Absolutely LOVED the Scouts of the 80's and 90's! You should do a video on the '88 Scouts win during the finals year of the "secret prelim placements/scores". It was truly epic. I was there in the KC stadium and the surprise and glee of the crowd at the announcement of scores was absolutely insane. #1 DCI memory for me.

1995 Madison show one of my favorite Madison shows ever! Yep bugles are better. I marched Guardsmen 75 and 76. I bought the expensive video cassettes of that finals years ago. Glad for RUclips because I wearing out the Madison part of that tape playing it over and over again! Thanks for all you do for drum corps!😊

Love your channel. Love your commentary. Totally agree that 1995 Madison melts your face! Keep up the good work. - Stan (1986 Sky Ryder)

I really like this time of wearing the uniforms that identified the Corps immediately. Except this year when they should have been wearing track suits for the fast moving drill. Including the drumline! Oh, marching 6 base drums and a full 9 snares and 6 tenors! With cymbals.. holy cow! Did you catch the whistles the snares had in their mouth? Lol!
Great performance and love the Channel!

Thomas thanks so much for watching! We truly appreciate it. If there is any show that defines drum corps this is it. Crazy good.

Yes, that brass line was SO powerful, BUT the soprano section was the loudest and most intense sounding I believe I’ve ever heard! They knew how to project! 🔥🎺⚡️🎺🔥

Agreed 💯. That show was just unreal. This is Drum Corps. If you had to show someone who has never seen Drum Corps before what Drum Corps is. This would explain it. Thanks so much for watching!

Those late 80's through the 90s Scouts corps were marching technique GODS! As for this show? EASILY my favorite of 1995 and it stands in my top 5 of ALL TIME. This show was criminally underrated. Love me some Devs.. LOVE Carpe Noctem, but this show should have wiped out Blue Devils.

The penalty was for "unethically ripping off 14, 326 human faces." I don't remember which rule number that was. 😎 Happy I could help.

1995 Scouts was epic. Maybe technically not the winner, but OMG... changed marching bands for decades afterwards, the number of times Malaguena and Malaga were played.
We did Malaga in our college marching band in 1997 and anytime we performed in front of high school kids, they just LOST it (like this crowd did with the Scouts)... and we weren't as good. ;)

Ah...Madison Scouts 1995. The show that peeled your face off, punched you in the mouth, and made you give up your first born male child...and you loved it. You wanted more. Frankly Madison had a pretty HOT run of shows ...1991, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97 and 99. I mean every one of those shows absolutely gets the crowd going. But of course the 1995 show is often the one that really sticks out as Rock Concert levels of enthusiasm. Well deserved too.
There were many great shows that summer. Really enjoyed The Cadets and Bluecoats productions that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. Cavaliers were sweet visually and I enjoyed most of the music. BD was very good as was Phantom and SCV. But Madison was so IN YOUR FACE from a GE standpoint that it was surprising they did not take that caption. Maybe just not clean enough. But that show must have received 5 to 6 standing ovations during their finals run, starting with their on-field entrance.

What I wouldn’t give to hear a hornline of G bugles. Sure, Bb horns get better blend and are more symphonic, but damn do G bugles just sound otherworldly. Even on crappy audio from the 90s!

Soak in that audience reaction for a 4th place show. That was real DCI before it "devolved".

    Title should read 1995...not 1994. 🙂
