As he leaves the podium, that reporter asking him if he was "grandstanding" is every single thing that's wrong with the media these days. This happened in his hometown. Sure, his acting skills helped drive his point home, but you can also tell that every single word spoken came straight from the heart & soul. "We are not as divided as we are told we are." I'm 99.999% sure that's the line that sent the reporter who asked that question off the deep end. Being exposed like that can create such reactions.

Where is it going to stop? Even actors want us as a Nation, to be gunless. They don't care?, what the master plan is, by these shootings.
Over an hour, before police would confront, what they knew as one shooter. Plus they held parents, who did want to save their children at any expense, at bay. What is Matthew going to say, when another Country comes, and takes us over; because these planned sympathy jerkers, decide to set it up for the U.S. to be defenseless, with no gun protection. And then, it would be the whole town shot down, by a foreign nation; and many, many more towns, cities, and villages along with them.
18 year olds go over to fight serious wars, so what is this with age change on gun ownership? That specific town by special report, has parents that have to have their children protected with guns, while they play in their backyards; because of all the foreign border illegals, crossing in their back yards. How safe is that for them?!
Why not pass laws, concerning that situation?! Rather than messing with our second amendment rights?!
Why doesn't he stand up for all the aborted babies, that wanted to make a difference in this earth. But they were violently killed too!! Too many people affected adversely for their future safety, because one person decided to open fire, before we even understand the reasons behind it. Then it will be ban these, because it was a different type of weapon used; and when will it end?! By all means, all 18 year olds didn't shoot these teachers and children, only one did. And just like in the classroom, not all children should be punished by one students actions!! It's ridiculous!! And Matthew McConahue appearing to be a Modern day Patrick Henry, when rather over all, is rather a Benedict Arnold figure. You know, he hasn't had the income of movies in years; and a Cadillac ad, can only take you so far... 🤑
Wonder why Matt M., didn't also stand up to changing laws on our gasoline prices, while he was up speaking, and while he had the platform? He would have been also standing up for Cadillac ads... Fuel prices are also a very non Partisan, & Severe issue to All!! Make his name, and influence count for a mention of that too; as how adversely, will that also affect Most families, and for how long?!
The big question, will Matt M. be in the living rooms of those affected by the shooting, at Christmas time? And having a full rundown on All their updates then?

Just like everyone else I'm sad and extremely sympathetic to what's happened and think something needs to be done about the mental health crisis and moral misdirection our nation has taken. Common sense laws that don't affect the constitution should be put in place. If you look at all the facts, not just what you're being told to think, you can see. Sadly, Matthew was used a mere prop for political leverage. "Hit them in the heart, Matt!" Well yes, this breaks my heart and no one is saying action shouldn't be taken. It's the type of action that we need to discuss. It's the core issues people don't want to talk about, but would rather run on impulsive emotions that don't really solve the problem. Good people don't go around shooting people. Bad people do. How do we identify who these people are? Raise the age of who can purchase a firearm maybe? Hold gun owners responsible for their guns should it get in to the hands of their child or someone else? How about taking people serious when they tell a bunch of people they're going to go shoot a bunch of people, like this guy did? I mean that's a good start.

If you wanna watch the whole video and take issue with any single thing that is being said, then do that. Mental health is a big part of the problem, and he addresses that. Everyone knows that. This issue is multi-level, and nothing that Matthew McConaughey (an actor, fine, but also an American, from the town that just endured a mass shooting, just as entitled to share an opinion from a podium as you are to share one in a comment thread of a video you didn't even watch) talks about would, in any way, infringe upon Constitutional right.
