    I find it hard to believe that it goes away with passage of time and
    enough rest. I've had it for about 15 years and even had to use a POP
    cast for about 6 months to reduce activity on it. I've stopped playing
    active sports since then - this is 2022 and it hurts even more. It is so
    limiting because I could have done well if I had a football career.

      I’ve had it for 20 years, if it doesn’t fuse between the age of 16-18 unfortunately it’s a lifelong condition

      It doesn't go away with the passage of time and enough rest. I had the same situation as you and the POP cast. I had pain in my knee from age 14 until I was 23. The ONLY thing that helped was strengthening the surrounding muscles around my knee -- hips flexors, glutes and hamstrings so they worked better, and stopped leaving my knee to do all the heavy lifting.
      It goes away once you start doing that. If you still have the bony protrusion, surgery can get rid of it permanently. But you need to strengthen the surrounding muscles and improve your body's biomechanics, otherwise the pain will come back.

      Have you been doing stretches for any amount of that time? Because it’s usually caused by lack of flexibility

    Is problem if I do this exercise three times a day but I don t fell special pain.

      Rest it, I have osgood in both my knees and they also say to ice it

      try rolling ur patellar tendon w a golf ball it helped me a ton

      Pain meds and a knee braces I have osgoods in both my knees and it helps alot but you still have good and bad days with it

      @@zavid9774 did you roll the golf ball while your knee was bent (sitting)? Or was it elevated and resting straight

    Hey I lift wieghts a lot and I’ve found squatting, lunges, leg extensions in fact most leg exercises are affected by my Osgood slaughter. My mobility for example is greatly affected in the depth I can perform a squat in. Even an air squat hurts my knees if u perform it by going deep which is important we’ll performing a barbell squat or any squat. My question is how can I exercise in a safe way and at the same time make gains in my legs. I’d very much appreciate if u took ur time to reply to me because it’s very bothersome when I cant perform fundamental movements to increase my strength in my legs when it’s important to me. Thank you!

      I'm in the exact same predicament. What I've found helpful to me is, taking time off and also, looking at the hip and ankle strength/mobility also is key.

      Put something under your heels to elevate them and do regular squats it will work on stretching and strengthening the area.

    Yo I got a question idk if you can answer but. I’ve had osgood schlaughters for 1 to 2 years now but it finally went away and I’m only 13. I still have the bump but it doesn’t hurt that much anymore because I been playing basketball and stuff. Anyways my question is can I still grow taller? I’m only 5,6😥.

      So my doctor told me when you have is osgood schlaughters knee you will experience a larger growth spur than usual. In other words you will grow way more because u have this knee problem

      Yeah man it doesn't affect your height i had my OS in the age of 14 when , i was 5.3 i m 16 and i m 5.8 now . I feel u will grow definitely. Ahahah u r pretty tall.

      5’6 at 13 is like 4 inches above avg for that age, I was only 5’2 at 13 which according to many websites is exactly or 1 inch below avg hieght

    What do i do to make this bump go away. I don't feel any pain but the bump is there

      If you're done growing then the bump is here to stay. Once the growth plates fuse all of the bone being pulled off the tibia will ossify in place. I'm 38 now and have had OS for over 25 years. I only wish when I was 13 I knew that OS was caused by tight muscles; I would've stretched before cross country and track practice!

      Maybe if you get surgery but the bump is always going to be there
