    In the past 5 months It’s become religious for me to ice, heat, stretch morning and night. It had really put a dent into my soccer career as a 16 year old. Recently it’s been getting much better. The number has been going down but it’s taken time. I highly suggest these types of workouts and yoga. I’ve been dry needled 8 times in my quads and each time it’s about 15 needles total. At this point it’s not painful. But it’s a huge help as well. I would highly highly highly recommend icing in morning and after practice/game/workout of any sorts and heating before. I also stretch before and after my practices and in the mornings also. Thank you so much for these videos they’ve been a huge help!

    I'd recommend that everybody gets knee strap(s) if they have Osgood Schlatters disease. I started having pain in both knees 2 years ago, when I was almost 13 and now I can run and play most sports as long as I have the straps on. Although I still can't do things like squats, it's still worth it. You also might want to see a physiotherapist to make sure you get the right type of strap, and if you want to, be assigned exercises according to your abilities.

    • @alexk3790
      @alexk3790 3 года назад

      @@zhanem2886 Hi, I’m really not an expert on this stuff. Talking to your parents about seeing a physiotherapist for personal advice would be best. Although, I do know some from personal experience. I don’t think there is a strap that gets rid of the problem completely, but straps help, icing before and after exercise helps, and doing specific exercises that strengthen the surrounding muscle helps. The type of strap that I have is like this: www.bauerfeindsports.ca/products/sports-knee-strap?variant=31598110900361¤cy=CAD&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0caCBhCIARIsAGAfuMzRdzGfMo1dGtDzPfVN4WUMxQdkEhYooGNFHw8EeUE0eyOQWwjkURsaAqZoEALw_wcB, but again, you should have a physiotherapist decide what the best choice is for you. Here are some more exercises from the internet too: myhealth.alberta.ca/Health/Pages/conditions.aspx?hwid=abo3748.

      @@m.yusranyuris9136 Hey. I’m actually not cured from osgood schlatters; it kind of just lessens as you get older. And no, I don’t know of any treatment that hurts your growth (I’m close to 6 feet now). Actually, osgood schlatters happens at the age that it does because that is when you are growing the most, and then it goes away when you are an adult because you’re done growing. Don’t hold back on getting help-it’ll allow you to enjoy sports more with less pain.

    I apparently had the most severe case of schlatter, my knee lump bone grew out 3 cm off my bone, im 13 and have had this disease since 11 years old... it became better but it almost became so painful that i thought of actually decapitating my leg off, but it became better when i had surgery 4 times on both knees, it is much worse if you are tall, as more of your weight depends on your knee, i was 167cm tall at the age of 11, and now i am 178cm tall and still growing. It has become much better and for all you guys with schlatter know that yours is not as painful as mine. And that you will not need 4 surgeries.

    I've had osgood schlatter for almost 4 years now. At first i did a surgery where the doctor put a screw-like thingy on my bump. At first, everything was alright, i took it off after 1 year because my bump is getting better. But now, 2 years after taking off the screw, the bump is getting worse again. Plus, my left leg(injured) is not as strong as my right. Can this workout fix my problem?

    Many ppl in the comments are complaining about the pain that occurs while trying to do that kind of exercises.
    Can anyone - maybe the owner of the vlog - explain to me how strenghtening your quadriceps muscle may help? When you are making 1 leg squad you are increasing the tension on the patella tendon and that way you are making the inflammation process even worse in my opinion. I doesn't make sense to me.

    • @Braceability
      @Braceability  5 лет назад

      Hi Artur!
      Though activity limitation is recommended by some physicians, strengthening exercises and stretches can help prevent muscle imbalance and pulling on the patellar tendon. However, this information is not a substitute for medical counseling. Please consult a health care professional if you have questions regarding treatment for your specific case.
      Thank you!
