for batman to be next to ace, a dying little girl who had an immense telekinetic and psychic power strong enough to warp reality, was one of the most heroic yet sad things to see in the animated show. batman knew how ace felt in that she was a kid who also got her childhood cheated from her. batman even allowed ace to read his mind when normally he blocks his mind to other people. it was honestly so sad to watch that scene but it reminds us of batman’s compassion. everyone was ready to be the city’s hero but only batman was ready to be ace’s hero. also a little fun fact: batman named his dog ace in batman beyond!

This is honestly the missing ingredient from the live action movies. They keep forgetting his compassion, that’s what made him so freaking good in the cartoons. Just like how Superman isn’t all sunshine and rainbows in his best interpretation, Batman also isn’t gloom and darkness.

Sage Rain: I 100% agree with you. Kevin Conroy's version of Batman & Bruce Wayne is the best. He had so much time to show the compassionate side of Batman. It reminds me of one of my favorite lines from the Dark night rises.
Bruce Wayne/Batman: A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended.

Bruh THANK YOU Batman is a beast a warrior a super smart guy and also one of the softest guys in DC, so many many times he’s helped villains while getting shot by them, but so many people in Batman shows suffer from ptsd, drug addiction, other mental illness (joker) , but we only focus on his big bads but so many of his minor rouges are impactful in Batman’s story as a hero and personally I think they stay minor because they want the help Batman gives them kinda like how flash helped that one villain who needed meds and when he was off them he had a villain persona

Snyder's version of Batman does not have much space to work on because it focuses on 1.) Is Superman a danger to mankind; and 2.) There is a bigger threat to come that will yet again may endanger the world. If you watched Batman V Superman, you can see Bruce Wayne holding the little girl as she is scared in the middle of debris while kryptonians battle in the city.

Also it warms my heart so much that batman saw through ace's danger, and her reputation and saw who she really was, a child in need of love.

This... this is the batman I know and love. Hard and cold, scaring the villain's, but at the end of it all, having a heart, that truly wants to see good done, true good. I wish I could see more of him, but it seems like everyone else wants the killer bat man, the batman who doesn't care what damage he causes, to his enemies or collateral, forgetting his no kill and no gun rules and who has even in some versions forgotten to be a detective and is instead a terror in the night... it feels like these days, people are very cynical, and want cynical heroes... I'm hoping to see a return of the true hero's someday. till then, I'm hoping to follow their example, and create my own stories, with their own true heroes.
