Stick with the $1 and the $2 machines and do full Max on those first do not skip to $5 there are $1 machines that are 2 and 3 credits and then there's $2 machines that have two credits your money will go longer. I play in West Virginia and they have a double Diamond machine that's a $1 machine with three credits I go to that machine first and I literally win 9 out of 10 times I can win $300 on that machine within 10 minutes
I think the whole point, accordi g to our cowboy guru teaching is to use the build method to play on the smaller denoms to build up winnings, and play on the winnings for the higher denoms. You kind of shoot yourself in the foot when you start on the higher denoms. Thats my take on the cowboy method. Good luck! And may all your hand pay dreams come true.
We understand his point. We have 5 videos showing our attempts at step 1 and another at step 2. Technically, we didn’t skip. But, what’s the difference between losing 5x $100 at 25 cent denom or trying a couple hundred at the higher denom? If we’re not having any luck on steps 1 or 2, and we have the money for steps 3 and 4, why not eliminate those initial losses?
I think you would be better off finding a double or triple diamond game. Playing one credit on top dollar or pinball is just increasing the volatility while excluding yourself from the reward for that volatility (aka top dollar bonus/pinball)
It’s been really difficult to find the games we want at the denom we need. But yeah, that makes perfect sense. We did wind up having the most luck on the same Top Dollar machine, but somehow, the footage is missing. That ticket in the screenshot that’s over $200 is from that session with $50 in.
@@TheMidlifeRidestill - this advice is 100% spot on. Betting 1 line on a 5 line machine with the added top dollar symbol is way higher in volatility and giving you greater losses.
Yes unfortunately you have to play the max bet, I wish you could pay 3, 4 or 5 bets and have a chance at the bonus, but that's how all those machines are rigged, to collect cash for the casino. Watch cowboy slots. He does discuss playing a bet that will give you a chance at the bonus round. It's somewhat unfair to us baby rollers...lol, good luck guys, I'll hit it, be patient.
We don’t have the guts either, but it was free play (fake money in our mind). Free play is great for taking risks we normally would not. I like your answer! Glad to know someone else would have done the same. Thanks, Blake!
Lucky me I bit the bullit and booked Cosmo for 4 nights Memorial weekend I will have to try the Cowboy slots method . A fountain view of course Thanks for the videos
I have had moderate luck playing 5-10 spins on various machines, in hoprs of hitting a bonus. I also look for machines where the previous player was min betting
Nice attempt at step 3. I still haven't gone to that point yet (either through following the method or just jumping to it like you did). The Cowboy Slots method is all about paying attention to both your budget and what games you're playing. In theory, the more times you attempt it - the more accustomed you should become to thinking along those lines. When you're not winning on slots, you're always going to second guess yourself. When attempting the method you're not really making the wrong choice to stop or continue unless you go beyond the budget for whatever given step you're on. Personally, I probably would have continued on like you did after that line hit. But I also would probably have just stuck with Triple Stars because I really like that game and I have had more success with it than with the others.
Very good points. So, is there a point at which you would have given up on Triple Stars? I was having a hard time with the $5 denom because 10 spins doesn’t seem like giving the machine much of a chance, but it’s also $50! I kept thinking that I could have had 50 spins on $1 machine. Glad we were using point play to test the waters, though:)
I'm not really sure what I would do. Until I'm actually in that situation it's hard for me to say. I don't think there's anything wrong with your decisions. You seem like you were avoiding being uncomfortable with the game you're playing, which is important. Most likely, I'd probably wait until I was down $100 before making a decision. Then, it would depend on what other machines were available. I don't think I would have gone to either Pinball or Top Dollar - but that's just my preference of games.
@@misterpid I get that. It’s easy for people to claim they’d do it differently when they know the outcome, but things can change in the moment and when it’s their own money at stake. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and honesty:)
First of all I must say, you and you're guy are gambling twins of me and my guy. We can't get past the first step either! Idk if this is helpful or not, we will move to a different or similar machine if no hits after 7 to 10 spins. Sometimes and I mean sometimes that works. Good to know we're not the only ones! But I really don't want to be in this club. Lol
Thanks for the suggestion:) We move around a lot when we’re gambling our way. Didn’t realize that was an option on this method until we put out several videos and people made that comment. It seems like $100 in a 25 cent machine would provide plenty of opportunities to win but we just aren’t lucky. I swear I’m convinced if I don’t hit something in the first $5 it’s not going to happen. And, we don’t want to be in this club either. We are like the President and VP of losing!
If you're going to play you need to play don't be afraid to play take money you know you can lose but sometimes you have to stay with it but if you're not getting any kickbacks then you should move but if you do not have any bankroll build up I would suggest you don't start at $5 machine stay at the $1 machines play fullback at the one-dollar machines with two and three credits that are low volatile
We get occasional offers for like $25 that’s good for a month or two. It usually starts right after a trip and so we rarely are there when it’s valid. So frustrating. The money we used here is from our points. I think you can convert it to free play or use it as resort credit. We’ve been visiting Cosmo for a long time and never used it. It has just been accumulating. On this trip, I started getting nervous about what would happen to it when they move to MGM Rewards, so we decided to use it just in case.
Sometimes it takes longer to play than 10 spins you would be surprised what happens after about 20 spins sometimes you just have to stay with the machine
Personally I feel it's all luck and perfect timing. I have better luck on $1 denomination, 3 reel, single pay line. I time I had $5 free play and walked away $300 up. Good Luck!
That’s awesome! I’ve had similar luck when putting in very little. I swear I’m convinced if I don’t hit in the first $5, I need to try another machine:)
@@simonsarpy538 I would only do that if the bet was 50 cents or less:) I think CS said 100 spins should let you see everything the game has to offer (bonuses, features, etc.)
On that last machine that shouldve been the machine u were trying for the hand pay jackpot and used at least 5 credits. When they have more than 1 payline you are just throwing your money away playing 1 credit on one payline.

We definitely prefer playing the lower denoms so we can do max. We did put in another $50 on the same $5 Top Dollar machine and got a nice line hit, cashed out at $200. But, it’s a bummer not to have a shot at the Top Dollar feature.
