SUPER EXCITED to see how this one turns out!!!! Keep up the AWESOME work Sir. Highlight of my day when I get the notification that you've posted a new video. My daughter an I love to watch them together.
Evinrude was idling high. Even for just being on muffs. Check the linkage on the port side of the engine . More than likely it is simple the main throttle plate needs adjusting which will be fine tuned once the cables are hooked up. You want the start dash on the throttle cam just barely off the roller with the dash on the cam running through the center of the roller. Those engines in my experience like to be started with just alittle throttle or none. Might be why it flooded easily
Love the new boat and love that you keep buying Evinrudes! The new controls you got are for the new series of motors with the 2 gray connectors instead of the one red Keep in mind too that neutral safety switches play into starting along with the kill switch And if you ever feel like you flooded something, throttle wide open when you try to crank 😎
Did a re-furb of a 1972 Auqa-Patio w/18 hp Merc years ago. Used it on many of the inland lakes here in Michigan for years. Pontoons are GREAT for taking the family and friends out on the water. Ultra stable, lots of room and don't draft much. Pontoon trailers are expensive here because we pull our boats out for the winter. Helps keep the pontoons clean-ish too. Thanks for posting.
Another boat ayo. Right on buddy. She's a beaut.... Can't wait to see it all done and the videos you get to make off this boat. Congratulations tommy on the camera job for ayo. 👊👊
In high-school a friend had a boat like that except it was 50' x 12' no steering counsel. It had an 8hp motor on the back you had to lay on your stomach and reach out over the water to steer. It was named "The Party Barge". He would take it out to the middle of the lake (it was a fairly large lake) and then friends would come out by boat and tie up to it. You could easily have 100 people standing around talking. It was great!
Good luck with the build. Nearly finished with a Lowe 185. The deck is 16X8 feet and the only furniture being bolted on is the console and a Captains chair. Getting the rotten carpet off was fun, getting the rotten plywood off was even more fun (most screws were seized into the aluminum stringers). It's down to the fishbone look now and the plywood is going on tomorrow, going to coat it with Redguard. Carpet is 32oz marine and it's going on Thursday if the weather holds. Evinrude 48 spl with a bad lower unit, picked up the twin to it yesterday. Bonus was it having power trim, LOL. Pontoon boats are a blast !!!
All right you can never have too many boats! Well you can the neighbors may say differently! Also a special shout out to the FB Marketplace guy for being honest! Looks like a good deal.
Can never go wrong with a pontoon build… be careful though, you might never go back to anything else. Good luck with the build! Hit me up if you have questions. Be Ultimate.
DUDE, I was JUST about to direct AYO to your channel, AWESOME!!! It'd be sweet to see a collab or discussion about all the P-boats options between you two!
As someone who has “rebuilt” and “revamped” many pontoon boats at the marina i spent 8 years working at, DO NOT go with carpet! Choose one of the many available vinyl, bamboo, or sea grass type of flooring that is readily available online…it will save you many future headaches. As far as the seating/console layout, play around with what you have by just rearranging things til you find a configuration that you like and just see what layout fits your needs best before bolting anything down. If you plan to go all out and turn this into a floating living room type of boat, maybe look into an additional center mounted toon, it will help with buoyancy, and add a bit of control when you get up on plane if you go with the correct size/length/diameter. Also, not a bad idea to pressure test the pontoons before just assuming they are airtight. It’s hard to tell the brand/manufacturer from what I shown in the video, but certain makes are known for either cracking along the welds, or up on top of the toon where the mounting brackets are located. Also don’t trust the water pump to be in working order after only running on a hose, that forces water into the system and through the motor where running it on the trailer with the stern in the water will show if it pumps under its own power. Good luck homie, and if you ever have any questions I’d be more than happy to help in anyway that i can.
Heck yeah!! Another banger!!! Love the content. Nice to see you put the wife in the video as well. That boat is awesome. It has so much potential. Nice job man 👊🏻
I think that is amazing! It’s an empty canvas. You can design the floor layout anyway you want. I would def place console in middle, so you can move and fish all the way around. Swivel seats at all 4 corners? SWEET

Hi AYO if the deck wood is pressure or salt treat lumber setting on aluminum it will cause the aluminum to corrode due to the chemicals used to treat the wood only way to maybe keep the aluminum from corroding is to encapsulate the wood in Epoxy nothing else will work. The older Johnson / Evinrude outboards are very easy to work on if you can find the parts as neither company are in business any more you can get after market parts that work. Most people name a boat after either there wife or mother my self I am naming my boat which I purchased back in February after my 1st great granddaughter it will be Miss Cassidy once I get to work on it I am still getting everything together to paint the boat and trailer and get the 1968 Johnson motor in better working order as it has not run in 10 years.
As someone who grew up re-decking and re-building pontoons you're going to want to cover that marine grade plywood deck with some marine grade vinyl or the sun will do a number on it in no time. They have all kinds of different patterns and colors you can get and it didn't used to be to expensive. Best part is you can order it by length and width, pull all the outside trim and then just roll it out, pull it tight and staple it. A few staple around the outside/under the edge with about a one to two inch overlap and then replace the trim and railings. You'll want to keep that old furniture to break down to have the patterns to use unless you want to make your own but you need the furniture bolted to the deck to help hold the vinyl flooring on. Make sure to use stainless steel bolts, nuts and screws if at all possible or you'll have to do it again in a year or two. If that decking is marine grade plywood you should get 10 to 20 years out of it depending on storage. You want to go cheap just build some boxes with hinged lids that become your seating and you can buy some closed cell foam on the cheap, some marine grade vinyl to upholster the lids which is very easy to do on rectangles just remember your relief cuts for the corners. I'm sure there's a video on it somewhere and I got faith you can do this. You'd be surprised just how much better she'll look with some flooring, some simple padded, hinged lid boxes/benches and her railing back on. With that running motor and all that marine grade plywood you got a decent deal even if you have to patch a few leaks in the pontoons. Just remember to find a welder who doesn't mind working with aluminum or buy a welder, watch a few videos, practice then do the patching yourself. Wow sorry for the book. TLDR: You did good price wise for what you got and it won't take much to get her to where even the wife won't mind going out on the water with you. Figure out what tent you want to use ahead of time and fix some rings to the deck so you can set it up and tie it down to the stake eyelets making things nice and easy. Camping on a pontoon is great especially if you remember to bring a decent grill and packed coolers...
This video is so cool for me. I live in ringgold which is where Yates towing and recovery is based out of. It’s so crazy seeing landmarks in your video that I’ve seen. Hope everyone treated you well here. I hope to see more Chattanooga videos. We have some great fishing around here.
@@madmax3169 I was thinking the same thing, if that new wood ain't marine grade that's gonna be rotten in weeks with the amount of rain that I've seen watchin these videos. I want AYO to succeed but damn thats money for the bitty that would have seen better use, but what the hell I love watchin anyway wanna see whats next.
The girtthyyyy gurrrrrrlllllll! Haha when the officer was asking you to attach it to the boat I was hoping you only had to put the plate or Vin on the frame.. then you got in the truck 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Welcome on board Tommy, hope you enjoy working for Andrew. Cannot wait to see Davie and Andrew swinging some Fat Sally's over the side of this new Yacht, it's going to be Epic
Your new camera guy is doing a good job- some new types of shots and b-roll. New edits. I like it. Hopefully it frees you up some more to work on stuff and have more fun!
The beauty of this is that it can be anything, it can be a fishing machine, a party machine, or a water camping machine. Slap a grill and tent on her and have some camping/fishing/catch and cook videos on her. Use the fishing gear off the Craig Cat on her and sell that one since it's pretty useless.
I know you love your old house boat, but build a light weight cabin on this pontoon and call it a day! Camp on it, fish, and have a blast. It will be very little maintenance/ or repairs compared to the never ending soga of a old inboard/outboard fiberglass boat. I've been down this road! Pontoons are great. No bilge pumps, no build blowers, no fuel tank leak explosion risk, no rotted transom or stringers to worry about. Add a 3rd pontoon if you need extra floatation
And then he would have the same content as tons of other fishing channels. I’d much rather watch his progress with these projects but to each their own.
My dad and I bought an 86 Ranger back in 2019 that had a 150 Johnson that needed some TLC. The sound at 14:49 right before you flooded it gave me Nam level flashbacks.
Yo Ayo, I've been watching since the beginning of your channel and am pretty amazed by how much you've grown, keep it up and never stop bud, the fat sallies will always be out there!
your one funny dude, you could buy straw and make it hilarious, glad to be with you on this adventure, you must have one understanding MRS, looking forward to this and the itty bitty , lol, you made my morning.
I learned one thing about a favorite mechanic of mine. Mustie1, We got turn over. We got spark? NO....check solenoid, points plug etc. We got spark YES. We got fuel, No...check valves, filters, and carb.... You can make ANY engine run! Love your videos man. Where is Davey?
I like this one. It has lots of room for fishing tackle and standing. Are you going to put rails for safety and Davy Gravy? Maybe some rod and reel holders and some drink holders. You know you could build bench seats on both sides for seating and for storage. Man AYO, the possibilities are endless.
It's funny, I have absolutely no interest in fishing whatsoever, but I find you, your friends/colleagues and your adventures to be incredibly entertaining. I guess capturing an audience outside the range of your target audience is a good thing. Well done and thanks for being real.
As someone who has restored a pontoon boat, I can tell you they are a special breed. Remember that when you get her on the water and fire that motor up and give her a hole shot, don't be surprised when she doesn't get up on plane. Pontoons don't get up on plane. My little Bass Buggy is the absolute best bassin' boat a guy like me could ever ask for. If you have questions, hit me up. I might have an answer.
Definitely needs to be called the the girthy girl perfect name for it glad you got the new camera man ayo Can't w8 for tons of content to come love the vids keep up the good work
Just put a few chairs the sides rails and leave room for a tent. So you can camp anywhere on the water? Bbq on the back your ready to go. Need some lights if your staying out on the water after dark...Girthy sounds good...cheers!
I'm sure you figured out on a Johnson/Evinrude out board. all you have to do is hook up a battery , disconnect the big red plug on the motor, Then jump the side of the starter and she will fire up every time. This is how you trouble shoot bad switches , plugs and wires. The motor will run on its own accord. I was shown this trick 5miles off the coast of cape Canaveral by a guy I asked to pull me in . He jumped on my boat , pulled the red plug and started my motor! Hope it helps. As you can tell he had the big red plug unplugged so he was bypassing the switches. God speed brother.
1.Congrats on the "Floatin-Tote"?If that fits, great. Was screaming in my head for you to seal the deck.Don't forget the bottom. It would be easy to make a 2/3 top-deck that folds forwards, and down for standing on when you have a few poles flopping around.Solid enough to play on,and shade beneath too.Whatever you do,we'll be waiting.Welcome Andrew!
WOO HOO, and I got my Force engine fired up today. This is / was after 3 carbs rebuilt, new fuel and water pumps, new control cables along with my Morse shifter swapped in, and a comPLETE boat rewire (found some ancient cloth wrapped wiring, nope, not gonna run with that aboard) All of this was for my peace of mind After pranking that pretty Lady you got there you better take her out for dinner LOL

TLDR:
You did good price wise for what you got and it won't take much to get her to where even the wife won't mind going out on the water with you.
Awesome! Don’t forget to seal the unspderside of the deck, especially if that’s not marine grade plywood. Also, change the impeller ASAP!
That’s the first thing that came to mind when AYO was under the boat at the sellers shop.
Yeah, even if it's not marine grade, nothing but good in taking that extra step
The girtthyyyy gurrrrrrlllllll! Haha when the officer was asking you to attach it to the boat I was hoping you only had to put the plate or Vin on the frame.. then you got in the truck 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the new boat. No gonna lie bro a little jealous of the boat you purchased. As always keep the good content coming. New camera guy seems legit.
Keep up the good work. Love watching your videos. Need more Davey Gravy.
Don’t mount it in the middle. Put to one side you’ll have more room to walk around 🤙🤙🤙
Welcome on board Tommy, hope you enjoy working for Andrew. Cannot wait to see Davie and Andrew swinging some Fat Sally's over the side of this new Yacht, it's going to be Epic
Ayoo with the HEAT 🔥
Ready to see you and Davy do some more fishing would be great to see you and the guys do a buzzbait only fishing challenge
Ago coming out the back of the boat reminded me of Ace Ventura coming out of the rhino’s ass😂😂
Your new camera guy is doing a good job- some new types of shots and b-roll. New edits. I like it. Hopefully it frees you up some more to work on stuff and have more fun!
P.S. You made a KILLER deal! They are so versatile and easy to work on. Good family boat, fishing boat and lounging boat. Design it anyway you want!!
Congrats AYO on ur newer Pontoon Boat. Dane son, that thing is LONG. Call it Ragamuffin. lv ur Sho-Nuff Funny Videos.
For the price you paid for all of those crappy boats you could’ve bought a nice bass boat…
And then he would have the same content as tons of other fishing channels. I’d much rather watch his progress with these projects but to each their own.
Hey man. You ever want to come back to my hometown I’ll take you to some cool fishing spots
I love your videos bro. Keep up the good work. A diving board off the front for Davy Gravy would be sweet.
I've been through Atlanta rush hour 3 times, and that was 3 times too many! 😂 I was stressed. Love Atlanta!
Ayo. If you want to carpet it. GO TO OLLIES! I hope you have one near you but they sell outdoor carpet so sooo cheap! Definitely the mooooove.
Ayo back at it again with the madness!
Great purchase Ayo … luv pontoon boats like a floating dock. Great times ahead of yous all 🎣
I always have a smile on my face after watching your videos, you de man.
This video is so fun. Gotta love that new camera guy. That’s my boy!!! 😂. Good luck with the rebuild.
I like this one. It has lots of room for fishing tackle and standing. Are you going to put rails for safety and Davy Gravy? Maybe some rod and reel holders and some drink holders. You know you could build bench seats on both sides for seating and for storage. Man AYO, the possibilities are endless.
I was thinking bench seating as well! Lots of room for Davy gravy's kickers!!
It's funny, I have absolutely no interest in fishing whatsoever, but I find you, your friends/colleagues and your adventures to be incredibly entertaining. I guess capturing an audience outside the range of your target audience is a good thing. Well done and thanks for being real.
Need to see you attach it....ayo backs the truck up. Best youtube channel ever!
Hope the S/O had a relaxing evening! We should all know by now you can't joke about money with the girly lmao
Cant wait to see another video on the houseboat!....its why I subscribed
Definitely needs to be called the the girthy girl perfect name for it glad you got the new camera man ayo
Can't w8 for tons of content to come love the vids keep up the good work
Another one!! Come on ayo. You are spoiling us.
Been waiting for this one for dayz!!...
This is / was after 3 carbs rebuilt, new fuel and water pumps, new control cables along with my Morse shifter swapped in, and a comPLETE boat rewire (found some ancient cloth wrapped wiring, nope, not gonna run with that aboard) All of this was for my peace of mind
After pranking that pretty Lady you got there you better take her out for dinner LOL
New cameraman has the angles and super excited for another project boat!! Goodluck!!
That inro was fantastic !! Good Video !
Shout out to Tommy! Looking forward to your future videos with Ayo
Love the content man you are inspiring me to redeck and build up the old family pontoon. Similar color scheme and I’ve always loved the name Bluegrass Bandit. Keep on the grind bro!
I came for the mini houseboat rebuild and then stayed for the laughs. Had a good laugh at your camera "running hands," lol. You're very entertaining. If you weren't already taken, I'd snap you up fast! hehe
Love these boat project videos man. Even though its not detailed, for sure learning a lot about old boats.
Gurthy girl, biggin betty, sally swatter... ur going to have a fantastic time. Love the channel brother keep up the content
That second really well and the eye glance under the brim of the cap was a definite Clockwork Orange moment!!!
AYOOOO!! It’s awesome! Blank canvas and you can make it exactly what you want!! You should totally put a BBQ on it too! Two story for sure! Nights out on the lake looking at the stars = lifetime memories! Can’t wait to see how she turns out bro! 👍👍
Love it Man! Can't wait to see u fishing from it.
