Gosh dang it man, I really miss the Prototype games. It makes you feel like Venom or Carnage if you were in an infamous game. There's really no other game like it and I would love if they made a third one!
Nah with the destruction it felt more like a hulk game where you got to play as venom or something except it’s rated M and your characters face looks normal lol

Activision were at a loss of development time when Sam Raimi cancelled spiderman 4 movie. So they took the assets and map for new idea. The gameplay was leaked a month back revealing it to be Alpha stage of prototype 1
I absolutely loved both prototypes back in the day; open-world destruction and brutality on a level that few games had achieved then or now. Some people considered it a “poor man’s Infamous” since infamous was exclusive to the PlayStation, so people thought well this is the next best thing, but I think it’s just as good and both games/series do what they do very well and are super fun to play
i swear upgrading to the max in this game feels so fun and rewarding, only thing that sucks though is once you reach the point where your basically a god nothing challenges you anymore :/
Pretty much. After all the upgrades, you can wreck an entire military base on the highest difficulty and not take any damage. It's just unfair at that point

This game is Mayhem genre, if i can say. The genre that u can destroy NPC, Building, City, etc. as ur playground gameplay. The same DNA with: The Incredible Hulk, The Mercenaries, Red Faction: Guerilla, etc. The Pros & Cons of Mayhem Genre. (+) Pros: - Absolutely Fun - Easy to play - More freedom than normal Open World, close to Sandbox - High replayiblity (-) Cons: - Repetitive Mission - Generic Graphic - Cheap story plot, almost forgetable - Unremembered cast of characters Nowadays, the genre is taken by Just Cause (Just Cause 3 & Just Cause 4) as Top Leader on the market. Next year or This year actually, 2022, new Saint Row will try to enter the genre again.
It sucks how this game was ultimately the downfall of Radical. These two games were definitely some of the most memorable I’ve played. Story, combat, movement, etc.. it was just sooooo good

I would love to see a 3rd game where a player could invade your game as another character to provide a challenge. Imagine you both fighting in this open world and going to town. These games focused on the fun and I want more like it

I have always liked the infamous ones more for their aesthetics and all that but I have to admit that prototypes are amazing games both 1 and 2 and I both played them in their time and it was fun, it's a shame there was no prototype 3.
They need to make a Prototype 3 BUT give the project to proven developers so that they make the best polished Prototype game ever. I think the people who made Spider-Man would be best qualified for a game like Prototype.
The graphics still holds up even at today's gaming graphic standards. Prototype 1 and Prototype 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. Played the 2 franchises back when I was a kid.

I played Prototype 2 a couple years ago and it still held up in a lot of ways. Was fun playing through it again. I wish we got a third, more modern version though.
I love the little details like the stomps with the armor and the voice changing for infected skins but something so vital as the jog animation looks ridiculous when using arm weapons
I still play this game now on pc with some mods......I even started playing both of the force unleashed games modded as well.........I miss games like these where your just having fun messing around with the sandbox physics and super abilities.......nowadays video games are all about grind fests, battle royales, loot boxes/microtransactions and most of the time they don't feel or look polished and feel like a early alpha you bought on steam and it's pretty sad to witness......at least companies like insomniac games are making games like this and I hope the new wolverine game surpasses wolverine origins video game but I guess only time will tell

Honestly, there's something so cathartic to getting the bullet proof upgrade and just walking around, letting bullets bounce off you like you're superman.

He had all the games, I didn’t even have a console so I watched him play all these beautiful games and I didn’t even want to try playing cause I knew nothing about it so I preferred watching him play all the time. He looked so cool to me. Long story short today I have a prospectful career ahead while he’s doing quite nothing… but I’ll still remember those times…
I always preferred Alex as a character (I feel like he had more potential to grow as a character, where Heller is already "complete"), but I will admit, Heller's abilities are badass. I just wish he got the armor too, alongside the shield. He'd look like a complete badass with that.
I still hve thevbio hazard bundle to this day protype will always be my favorite super hero game because its the one game where it makes you feel like a god with your super powers and lets you do anything you want with and kill your eneimies with them in the brutal way possible.

What I don't get it is why always when someone gets diced with claws the target is cleanly sliced in two or three when in reality the target should be in many more pieces as there are four blades per hand in claw mode. This happens all the time wheneven some power similar to claws are used in either Hollywood or Anime. This is not a sword that cleanly dissects . Some animator notice this blunder damn it. 😤. Miss playing this game though.
Tbh I'm just tired of games making you play as the good guys when you have powers....like I just wish games would stop forcing us to play the heroes, take Spiderman for example, you're always playing as Spiderman. Why can't I just play as venom ramping through New York picking up cars and throwing them blowing them up? Or playing as lizard doing the same thing. For anyone that doesn't already know the character you play both is and isn't james heller, it is him in the way that it's his original body with his original memories n experiences It isn't him because the virus has consumed him entirely right down to the very last atom, he's a solid bio-mass of living virus, that's why his devistator attack is an explosion, he's basically blasting himself all over everything like a kinda shell You can also tell this is the case if you look at his back and jacket, the back should be solid green n yet its fleshy and pulses with a faint red light thus providing evidence that he's no longer a human being He has no brain, no teeth, no anything except for what's on the outside and his voice, though I'm sure his brain still resembles a human brain I'm sure that it looks different in some major ways Now his clothes aren't actually closing but a biological recreation of clothing like misteek from X-men, she's the closest thing to the mercer viruses abilities that I've seen as her body itself forms clothing of any type, like ditto from pokemon But james is still james as he is unable to be consumed by alex and his daughter is the same way and because of his dna he's basically immune to bein turned into a bio-burger by anyone else in the game, his special dna is also why he cant be tracked either When he consumes ppl he doesn't eat them literally, he obsorbs them entirely, like watching a pack of tiny tiny tiny bugs devouring something so quickly it looks like its just a blob melting it while at the same time eating it You can see a much better animation of this in the first game which is my favorite aspect of the powers in the first, the bodies of the ppl he consumes are moderately bein pilled into his body like if a blob of silly putty were to eat someone instead of one big chomp it eats bit by bit, 1% by 1% which is quite fast when you watch it and I must say very satisfying to do so, why.. I've consumed lots of ppl just to watch the limp-biscuit bein pilled in n devoured in moments 😄 Now, on the basis that his physical body is the virus itself albeit a different version of the virus because of james's dna, the evidence of this fact can be seen in his powers, his body itself is a kinda nanobot goo in a way, it's like it in the fact that it reshapes itself to fig our mans beasts that he consumes The dna from creatures n other evolved is sampled and then copied and then used by james, like how when ben 10s omnitrix samples alien dna and adds the individual biological form kinda, into his roster Basically, you use your w3apon on me and I make my own version of that w3apon n plaster you with it lol This can be seen a few different times throughout the series, I conclude that the omnitrix and the mercer virus share some kinda connection because both are dna based only one is very technically advanced and the other is a bio-w3apon Now back to james, his powers, like bens aliens, can be upgraded, if he needs it his body will change shape based on his will alone, the atoms in his body are rearranged to create a kind of biological metal which is easy to understand considering humans are full of iron and other elements like carbon His physical body is also different not in appearance but in weight as when you jump off something and hold X you'll leave an impact crater, not to mention with all the biological material he's holdin on to he has to be a bit on the heavy side, I mean how else does he make that huge arm blade of his? Its possible based on hellers dna that his daughter could also possibly possess the virus n powers, also he doesn't age, he's immortal in a way Now since he's still himself it's safe to say his soul is still in his body, however this is where things get a bit confusing, if his body gets wasted then his soul will leave his body, however if part of his body is left he can regenerate like alex after taking a nuke Now here's the confusing part I'm unsure of, while the new james is still james it's also not him while being him at the same time, the 2nd alex was a copy, he had all of alex's memories n experiences n yet he lost his humanity as we see in the 2nd game due to this exact situation So I'm not sure if the original and the regenerated versions would be the same person, I'm unsure of this because I'm not sure if its possible to have the same individual consciousness in two bodies that are in fact both the same person n will possibly act in the same ways to different situations That's all
I think you're mistaking James Heller for Alex Mercer. Heller is still himself- he was just infected by Mercer with his Blacklight strain. "Mercer", however, is actually *the* Blacklight virus having assumed Alex's human form and memories.

Would love to see a prototype 3 with a shadow of war style nemesis system where you can gain abilities from them and have them fight for you. And really fleshing out consuming people. I can't believe there is actually a game where you can be like 'the thing' from john carpenters horror movie. Not sure what new powers they would add, maybe shapeshifting into more monstrous enemies?
@@commander_fox_189 really fun! been playing for years now, finished it like 2 or 3 times. It can be annoying sometimes because of the controls but almost everything about this game is great. Soundtrack, story, visuals, gameplay, map etc. If you're planning on buying it i highly suggest you should!

Can someone help me out here. I have Heller maxed out but I don't see any way to get the powerful jump. Like here Heller jumps and it cracks the ground and launches things into the air. I also don't see a way to make the bio bomb kick cause a tornado? It only does the regular bio bomb explosion. Update: Figured it out. Its part of the Excessive force DLC pack. Unfortunately not available on the Steam version. But you can find the files if you search around.

Spiderman ps4 truly reminded me of the good ol prototype days. Love that insomniac is still maintaining the sandbox tradition.

I loved both of these games! The powers, the freedom of movement and so much more are all awesome. I have to agree with Zaierre.

This Game Is a Spinoff Of Infamous & Combat Look's Like Spider Man & Batman Games.
It's a hell of a lot of fun playing this game as a stealth game. Infiltrate a base by consuming enemies, one after another without being detected.
I don't mind giving donation to the company if they really start doing on prototype 3. Both games are absolute beast.
this series was ahead of its time for sure, voice lines sound better than modern games, the abilities look very nice, some audio sfx are a bit dated but can be fixed, wonder if we will see a remaster in UE5 or something, idk if the studio who made it is still around. i played the first one a long ass time ago but never the 2nd one...banger of a game ill say

Honestly, there's something so cathartic to getting the bullet proof upgrade and just walking around, letting bullets bounce off you like you're superman.

He looked so cool to me. Long story short today I have a prospectful career ahead while he’s doing quite nothing… but I’ll still remember those times…

I always preferred Alex as a character (I feel like he had more potential to grow as a character, where Heller is already "complete"), but I will admit, Heller's abilities are badass. I just wish he got the armor too, alongside the shield. He'd look like a complete badass with that.

What I don't get it is why always when someone gets diced with claws the target is cleanly sliced in two or three when in reality the target should be in many more pieces as there are four blades per hand in claw mode. This happens all the time wheneven some power similar to claws are used in either Hollywood or Anime. This is not a sword that cleanly dissects . Some animator notice this blunder damn it. 😤.

Tbh I'm just tired of games making you play as the good guys when you have powers....like I just wish games would stop forcing us to play the heroes, take Spiderman for example, you're always playing as Spiderman. Why can't I just play as venom ramping through New York picking up cars and throwing them blowing them up? Or playing as lizard doing the same thing. Like Atleast give us a choice if we want to be the all powerful supervillain gods

We need a third game where you play as an actual hero rather the villain or antihero to complete the set.
For anyone that doesn't already know the character you play both is and isn't james heller, it is him in the way that it's his original body with his original memories n experiences
It isn't him because the virus has consumed him entirely right down to the very last atom, he's a solid bio-mass of living virus, that's why his devistator attack is an explosion, he's basically blasting himself all over everything like a kinda shell
You can also tell this is the case if you look at his back and jacket, the back should be solid green n yet its fleshy and pulses with a faint red light thus providing evidence that he's no longer a human being
He has no brain, no teeth, no anything except for what's on the outside and his voice, though I'm sure his brain still resembles a human brain I'm sure that it looks different in some major ways
Now his clothes aren't actually closing but a biological recreation of clothing like misteek from X-men, she's the closest thing to the mercer viruses abilities that I've seen as her body itself forms clothing of any type, like ditto from pokemon
But james is still james as he is unable to be consumed by alex and his daughter is the same way and because of his dna he's basically immune to bein turned into a bio-burger by anyone else in the game, his special dna is also why he cant be tracked either
When he consumes ppl he doesn't eat them literally, he obsorbs them entirely, like watching a pack of tiny tiny tiny bugs devouring something so quickly it looks like its just a blob melting it while at the same time eating it
You can see a much better animation of this in the first game which is my favorite aspect of the powers in the first, the bodies of the ppl he consumes are moderately bein pilled into his body like if a blob of silly putty were to eat someone
instead of one big chomp it eats bit by bit, 1% by 1% which is quite fast when you watch it and I must say very satisfying to do so, why.. I've consumed lots of ppl just to watch the limp-biscuit bein pilled in n devoured in moments 😄
Now, on the basis that his physical body is the virus itself albeit a different version of the virus because of james's dna, the evidence of this fact can be seen in his powers, his body itself is a kinda nanobot goo in a way, it's like it in the fact that it reshapes itself to fig our mans beasts that he consumes
The dna from creatures n other evolved is sampled and then copied and then used by james, like how when ben 10s omnitrix samples alien dna and adds the individual biological form kinda, into his roster
Basically, you use your w3apon on me and I make my own version of that w3apon n plaster you with it lol
This can be seen a few different times throughout the series, I conclude that the omnitrix and the mercer virus share some kinda connection because both are dna based only one is very technically advanced and the other is a bio-w3apon
Now back to james, his powers, like bens aliens, can be upgraded, if he needs it his body will change shape based on his will alone, the atoms in his body are rearranged to create a kind of biological metal which is easy to understand considering humans are full of iron and other elements like carbon
His physical body is also different not in appearance but in weight as when you jump off something and hold X you'll leave an impact crater, not to mention with all the biological material he's holdin on to he has to be a bit on the heavy side, I mean how else does he make that huge arm blade of his?
Its possible based on hellers dna that his daughter could also possibly possess the virus n powers, also he doesn't age, he's immortal in a way
Now since he's still himself it's safe to say his soul is still in his body, however this is where things get a bit confusing, if his body gets wasted then his soul will leave his body, however if part of his body is left he can regenerate like alex after taking a nuke
Now here's the confusing part I'm unsure of, while the new james is still james it's also not him while being him at the same time, the 2nd alex was a copy, he had all of alex's memories n experiences n yet he lost his humanity as we see in the 2nd game due to this exact situation
So I'm not sure if the original and the regenerated versions would be the same person, I'm unsure of this because I'm not sure if its possible to have the same individual consciousness in two bodies that are in fact both the same person n will possibly act in the same ways to different situations

I think you're mistaking James Heller for Alex Mercer. Heller is still himself- he was just infected by Mercer with his Blacklight strain. "Mercer", however, is actually *the* Blacklight virus having assumed Alex's human form and memories.

Would love to see a prototype 3 with a shadow of war style nemesis system where you can gain abilities from them and have them fight for you. And really fleshing out consuming people. I can't believe there is actually a game where you can be like 'the thing' from john carpenters horror movie. Not sure what new powers they would add, maybe shapeshifting into more monstrous enemies?

@@commander_fox_189 really fun! been playing for years now, finished it like 2 or 3 times. It can be annoying sometimes because of the controls but almost everything about this game is great. Soundtrack, story, visuals, gameplay, map etc. If you're planning on buying it i highly suggest you should!

Can someone help me out here. I have Heller maxed out but I don't see any way to get the powerful jump. Like here Heller jumps and it cracks the ground and launches things into the air. I also don't see a way to make the bio bomb kick cause a tornado? It only does the regular bio bomb explosion.
Update: Figured it out. Its part of the Excessive force DLC pack. Unfortunately not available on the Steam version. But you can find the files if you search around.
